Okay, this is my new favorite tea house, move aside Gong Cha. I love the atmosphere of this establishment. From the faux tree to the modernized decor and Italy mural towards the back of the store. There is plenty of seating for all comfort levels. The first time I came here, I came with a Yelp friend, Lou. He recommended that we sample the Tra Tac Xi Muoi; which is kumquat juice with tea with kumquat peels at the bottom of the drink. Divine! I loved this refreshing drink, it is my favorite. The citrus was very fragrant. During this visit, I even tried the Taro Milk tea, but it was not my favorite. The flavor wasn't as sweet as Gong Cha and tasted a bit watered. The flavor wasn't overpowering. It was meh at best. The second time I visited, my good Yelp friend, Lou, and others were with me. Since I had previously had a dream about the Tra Tac Xi Muoi. I ordered it again and the consistency across the board was the same. Still delicious! Also, this time, I wanted to try the Nuoc Mat (Artichoke Tea). The taste was mellow but lightly sweetened and delicious. The boba is lightly sweetened and not plain like traditional boba. There weren't any pieces of artichokes in the tea like I was expecting. There was no employee at front but there's a kiosk you can order at. I ordered an ice egg coffee for my mom and a Thai green milk tea with pana cotta. After I ordered, I went to another store in the plaza to pick up some pastries. I figured my drink would be ready by the time I came back. However, when I came back, it was not made. I believe it was the owner that was working and they informed me that they didn't see my drink come in and they will make it now. That's fine, no big deal as mistakes happen. However, they then told me they didn't have pana cotta. I was really excited to try it and didn't really want to sub the pana cotta for something else. The owner ended up giving me the drink on the house and I just paid for the coffee. Overall, mistakes happen but I think the owner handled it better than most businesses would. I've been on the lookout for a decent Hanoi-style egg coffee ever since coming back from Vietnam a few months ago - so after dropping by Tao for some breakfast rice rolls, we went a little further west on Bellaire to this cute Wilcrest café, located in the same plaza that houses Chinatown stalwarts Nam Giao, Wing Kee, and ECK Bakery (talk about some heavy hitters!) With these illustrious neighbors and the intriguing photos, I figured TeaFix was worth a shot. We were one of the first customers around 10:30 and were helped promptly by the friendly, welcoming staff. I had my heart set on egg coffee, so I didn't peruse much of the menu - looking online, it seems they have a diverse selection of creative beverages, all priced around $4-6. We ordered one cold and one hot as a contrast and were informed it'd be a 10-minute prep time - not bad at all considering it's made-to-order! Our drinks arrived not too long after we settled in at one of the picnic-style tables. The presentation of the hot egg coffee set over a small candle was seriously stunning, and its gorgeously rich yet bittersweet flavor lived up to its appearance. The cold version was equally as impressive, and I savored its three different tastes in sequence: the thick, dreamy whipped egg layer on top, followed by a sip of pitch black brew from the straw, and finally the two stirred vigorously together to combine as a perfect pair. At $5.50 a cup, it's a small luxury that I'm willing to splurge for every so often (now thinking about how many times I've bought $7 boba!) And while the lusciously decadent coffees weren't exactly what I had back in Hanoi, they sure came pretty darn close. The Signature Milk Coffee has a strong dark bitterness that pairs well with the salted caramel and salty foam on top. The service was very fast and ambiance was great with nice decorations and many spots to sit. Unfortunately the drink was too salty for me so I couldn't give it more stars. Found this place on accident. Egg coffee is TO DIE FOR. I Signature coffee is delicious! Interior is spacious, clean, and so cute! Plenty of parking. It's an older looking strip mall but don't be fooled. Cashier was super helpful and explained the different sizing options. Why 5 stars? Because the egg coffee was pretty much heaven in a cup. --- --- --- I was in the area and searched Yelp for boba. I was given approximately 400 results within 2 miles of where I was standing. I love this area. I ended up choosing TeaFix because it had the best ratings, but also because I was intrigued by the egg coffee. I didn't know exactly what it was, but I like eggs and I like coffee, so how could I lose?! It turns out that it's super strong coffee with a frothed egg on top. The person who took my order seemed pretty concerned that I'd never had it before because she emphasized multiple times that the coffee was incredibly strong and she recommended I try the smaller size. I told her that I drink strong, black coffee every day and that I'd be fine with the large, but I don't think she heard me. As it turns out, my only complaint is that I wished I had the large. It was completely amazing, but it was a very small amount of coffee. She emphasized that it's better to sip slowly than to drink fast, but I guess I only know one speed. Maybe it would be better hot, but it definitely would be better in the largest receptacle that they have. I'm tempted to drive an hour back here just to get this again and do it right. They have a few specialty drinks you don't see at other places, namely the egg coffee. They also have a tiger sugar milk here. It's currently selling for 6.50, and is the priciest drink on the menu. The interior is modern and quaint with an Asian touch I'd say. The roasted oolong milk tea is really good. The roasted tea flavor gives it a slight coffee taste. Perfect balance of milk and tea and just the right amount of sweetness too. It isn't overly sweet but still slightly on the sweeter side. TeaFix made it really really flavorful and delicious. I want to come back to try other Vietnamese drinks. After reading the reviews, I found another popular drink at TeaFix is Egg Coffee. I am all about exploring new frontiers when it comes to food. So, I asked cashier to pick iced egg coffee, I'll try hot one next time. I didn't ask what's in there. I believe it's made with authentic Vietnamese coffee brewing technique. Because it took a while to be ready. I really didn't mind waiting. I have the restaurant all to myself. I love TeaFix because it is a closer place than Muse Tea to get my favorite osmanthus oolong! As a plus, my husband also ordered the egg Vietnamese coffee (pictured). It was delicious and the staff came over and taught us how to drink it correctly (tip: do not mix it all together). The place is located in a shady part of town. A lot of parking spaces are available. I only like a couple of drinks here. I don't like the toppings offered especially the tapioca. There are usually 2 cashiers here. One younger, thinner girl with long hair and pulled back in a pony tail, who has poor customer service and does not make the drinks as good. Her face is long and thin. She does not smile and is indifferent. The other older woman with short pixie cut hair does not talk much but is much nicer and makes better drinks. read more

TeaFix is a fun stop on Wilcrest Drive. As of this review, I've tried their popular egg coffee and highly recommend. The shop is comfortable and nicely decorated. I look forward to returning. Five stars. read more
