Lychee Rose & Blueberry Scone
Jon T.

Going here at night felt really off putting but I decided to try my chances at giving this place a shot! Going inside, there's this weird animatronic girl that's tilting her head left and right; I don't know if that's there to greet you but I've seen enough of Five Nights of Freddy's to have a fear of animatronics. Honestly, the black sheep in the room has to be the decor. I thought I was walking into an antique shop. A lot of vintage stuff on cabinets and trinkets just left and right... I was honestly wondering why that was there. There were tables in the middle with menus for tea but I was a bit confused about what I was walking into. The counter in the back is where you order your bubble tea. They have surprisingly a lot of options but it's just disorganized. It took me a minute to figure out what I wanted. I got the Lychee Rose drink with Boba. The guy at the counter asked if I'd like to try out a scone and I said sure. It ended up being around 12 bucks which is a tad expensive but gotta support the place somehow.. The Lychee Rose with boba; the drink had no ice and the boba was hot. I don't think the drink is too sweet but I should have asked for some ice. I think I got a Blueberry Scone. That was okay too... It was heated up but it was dry and I felt like it was there the whole day at the counter.. I sat there for a bit in silence just sitting down at the tables to take photos but left once I finished my drink. Tea Tyme is an odd place. It has an antique sort of charm to it but it also wants to present itself as a bubble tea shop/high tea place. It's okay. It's not my pick for good boba but at least I checked it out.

Spicy beef Ramen

Food was soooooo good!!!!! So I didn't know what to get but the guy who helped me went over the whole menu with me. I decided on a spicy beef ramen! It has all the bells and whistles. I learned about this place on my laundry day. Went in for a tea and got food and the Thai tea. Since last Monday I've been in 4 times! The guy was the only worker I think that I saw and he was very helpful. Food came out in about 15 mins. The place was clean and the guy who has helped me was very helpful. I went there again this mi day and got the chicken ramen since they didn't have beef. Next time I'll have shrimp!

Nice ambiance with several round tables and chairs to enjoy your drink. Many options for smoothies or teas. As assortment of unique flavors and boba options. There is something for everyone. There are items to buy also. You can sign up for a private tea party with sandwiches and hot tea. There is a bathroom available for paying customers.

Not impressed. Idk if it's my age or taste buds....but the teas literally just tasted like sugar.

Due to COVID we've been trying to stay in as much as possible. However, I was in DESPERATE need of a Honeydew bubble tea! During these times we are also trying to shop local & shop small businesses! Tea Tyme popped up and I am SO HAPPY it did! The shop is small, but full of little decorations, figurines, tea and other things. A few tables inside, but we decided not to sit. The lady at the counter was just the sweetest ever! She was very patient as my husband decided what he was getting. My Honeydew bubble tea was perfect! Right amount of sweet and boba was perfectly prepared! It definitely satisfied my craving! My husband got a chocolate milkshake and it was good, but mines was better. Haha. She made it fairly quick given it was just her at the time. I highly recommend trying it out and giving the shop a look. There was a couple small goodies I wanted to get so have to get back there soon.

Very interesting shop but I liked its quirkiness. It's sectioned off and separate from the coffee place next door. This might be the only boba or bubble tea place in downtown Fredericksburg. There's an assortment of flavors and combos you can get, and it looks like the owner has a variety of powdered flavors. I got sakura rose, a light cherry-rose flavor, but there are so many to chose from, as detailed in the huge signs in the front. You can get a regular size for $5.50 or in a plastic lightbulb for $6. The owner was very nice and let me smell the flavors before committing. She will probably give you a sample of anything if you just ask. There's only a small table in the middle of the shop you can sit at and no public restrooms so it looks like this a grab-and-go place. The random things they have for sale are in cabinets and range from jewelry and teacups to even Beanie Babies and goblets. They also sell a variety of loose leaf teas. Very refreshing on a hot day!

Only one Asian lady working the shop, so she was a bit curt and not very helpful when I was asking if they had milk cream to add, what butterfly pea tea was, etc. Too bad, as I would have went more adventurous - which would mean I would have spent more money here. I got my go-to taro bubble tea with two extra scoops of tapioca pearls. The drink was good, but nothing to write home about. The bobas had not taste at all - literally, which was disappointing, and they should (in my book) add a sublet sweetness for another flavor in the all-round taste profile. I did notice a mother and daughter sitting at another table enjoying afternoon tea - which their were many flavors and kinds of leaves to pick from; any place that serves their teas in proper eat sets automatically gets an extra star from me.

Stumbled upon this place while strolling through downtown Fredericksburg. It's decor is a bit dated but they offer afternoon tea service for very reasonable pricing. We only ordered bubble teas to go but we saw a small group having afternoon tea and it looked lovely. Our bubble teas were good. I ordered taro and my friends ordered regular milk tea without the sweetener. They were prompted to select a black tea from the shops loose leaf collection for their base which I thought was nice. I would return here.

Nice cozy place. Not too sure about the decor seemed like they were an antique shop with a bubble tea place in the back. They had all the options you could think of and you got to customize your drinks any way you like. The staff was sweet although we got there minutes before closing.

For a friend's birthday, we booked a table for 4 and thoroughly enjoyed the Royal Tea. Huge choice of teas, lovely sandwiches made to order, fresh scones and pastries and fresh fruit. All beautifully presented on a tiered stand. And great value! We're British and are suspicious and picky when we see "afternoon tea" advertised, but this did not disappoint at all. Service was great. I highly recommend this place.

Honeydew Smoothie

Cute little shop my boyfriend and I found in Virginia. We got the honeydew smoothie and Thai iced tea and it was really good! I'd Recommend the Thai Iced tea ! The shop sold other things like Tea leaves and Jewelry. The owner I believe was an older woman. She was very nice and presented great customer service! 10/10 Service and drinks ! I'd come back to try other drinks :) !

The cute straws :)

Well this was unexpected…read more.. Okay.So first, they have friendly people who really know the restaurant that they're in, which is kind of cool. And this place is amazingly clean. So we got pies, me and my wife.We got pies. I got the meat pie.The very first one on the list and I have to tell you it was great. I did make a mistake though. If I had to do it all over again, I would wait till it cools a little bit. I would not cut it in half. I would very carefully remove that top crusty layer, ohh, my god, what a feast of flavor. Secondly, for god's sake, don't cut the d*** thing in half. Use the little plastic fork and knife and cut about an inch and a half or two inches of the crust off of one edge of the pie. This does two things first. It lets you taste this amazing crust by itself. And on its own and trust me, it does stand alone. That when the pie cools a little bit more, then, you can pick it up and eat it from one edge, All the way through to the other edge. Because if you cut it in half, you have to deal with the widest part twice. And that gets it all over your face. But hey, if you're a face eater, go all the way. We got the dessert pie, it was small. We cut it in half, and we each had half. And that was easy to deal with in half. But make no mistake, this is a good meal. And they have so many options. And might I say good options. Now, I have to come back so many times to be able to try all the different kinds. However, if you're just driving through and you want something to grab and take in the car with you. Yup this is the stop. This is the place you want to get into and out of quickly because you can get in and out quickly. I would venture to say, with the average time in a mcdonald's being around twenty five minutes just to get your food, you can probably get real food here faster unless they're really busy. That happens if they're really busy, just be patient. It's worth the wait.

Service alone was super attentive and friendly! We got the Arnold Palmer dupe (ask for the lemonade…read moreless sweet, otherwise default is too sweet). The strawberry matcha was made from homemade puree and delicious (one of the best I've ever had!)

We happened to drive by this town and decided to stop in for quick poke dinner -- so glad we did!…read more My partner ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen -- hands down one of the best ramen bowls we've had in a while. Rich, flavorful broth, and he added spicy chili and extra meat for personal preference. I tried the build-your-own poke bowl with the house fusion sauce and spicy mayo -- highly recommend! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The Spicy Soy Garlic wings were delicious too -- crispy with a sweet, savory glaze. Not super spicy, more on the mild side, but very tasty. A lot of choice with drinks. We got a mango cloud drink, texture is more of slushy and was very refreshing. We ordered at the counter but you can order with the self order pad. Very spacious with plenty of seats. Overall, a great find with excellent food and easy parking.

It is located in Southpoint/ Spotsylvania area in a strip mall with other businesses such as Gourmeltz and Mexico Palace. As you walked in, restaurant is spacious, clean and has a ginormous wall printed decor. You make your order at the counter and it is brought to your table. I ordered 5 items: 1) Beef Shoyu Ramen 2) Unagi Rice Bowl 3) Spicy Soy Garlic Wings 4) Matcha Milk Tea 5) Lychee Rose Fruit Tea. If you have a large order and dining in, just be patient and they will bring all items to you. As both beverages arrive to the table, the matcha milk tea was silky and smooth whereas the lychee rose fruit tea is not overpowering and you can taste each ingredient as it swirls around in your mouth. They are both refreshing and delicious. If you wish to add boba you can in your beverages. The unagi (grilled eel) rice bowl looks very scrumptious, filled to the rim served with steamed rice, fresh cucumbers, shredded carrots, pickled daikon and topped with sweetened soy glazed grilled eel fillets. Once incorporated together, your first spoonful won't be disappointed but yet satisfying. When you make your selection for the variety of ramen bowls, there's also additional toppings that you can add to your bowl too. The beef shoyu ramen arrives to the table in a unique pottery black bowl. It is gently display with noodles on the bottom, sliced beef, bok choy, seasoned boiled egg, dry nori, and added other toppings such as corn, tofu, and garnish with chopped cilantro, scallions, and sesame seeds. The first thing I did was tasting the broth and it didn't disappoint. It was exquisite savory, flavorful and light. The noodles were soft, tender and the entire bowl was aromatic and complex. My palate was jumping for joy. Lastly, the spicy soy garlic wings had a nice crunch, the soy garlic thick sauce really coats the wings but that chicken was so juicy, tender and incredible. With all of the items ordered, I will definitely get it again! Our multi-tasker guy was Alex. He was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. I will definitely make a return visit to try other items on their menu. This place was worth the visit.

Their menu was quite large, with hot dogs, cold subs, hot sandwiches, and paninis listed. They also feature a couple soups daily. When we went, they had a loaded baked potato soup and a lobster bisque. The young girl working the front was very happy and helpful and gave some good suggestions too. The place is quaint, with several tables and lots of historic signs on the walls. We started with their baked potato soup - The overall flavor was nice. But the potatoes in it were rubbery, like they used the wrong type of potato or maybe over-cooked it. Also, the soup was just warm, far from being served hot. Next up were the sandwiches - I chose the BBQ chicken sandwich, which had thinly sliced chicken breast on it, along with BBQ sauce, mayo, and onions. The sandwich was pressed, like a panini and was pretty good. I liked the smokiness of the BBQ sauce. I also got a bottle of their homemade root beer and it was pretty good. They serve Route 11 potato chips, which are my favs! So, I had to pick up a bag of Mama Zuma for later - those things are spicey, hot, and tasty! Overall, it's a nice spot, I can see them being a popular lunch spot downtown.
