As for the food, most of it was enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on the croissant and the pancakes were well done. However, the onion soup was overly salty, likely due to the cheese which was in the soup and also on the bread. Another downside, especially as first-time visitors, was the lack of guidance. We weren't informed that water was self-serve, and only realized it after noticing another guest getting it themselves. Interestingly, when leaving, we saw staff pouring water for newly seated guests, which added to the inconsistency. Overall, the food showed effort from the kitchen, but the service experience was disappointing. The 2-star rating is mainly in appreciation of the quality of the dishes. Cafe is quite small and we felt hot, as there's only a portable AC that couldn't accommodate that size of room. Not recommended place, even this is one of the rarest cafe in town. It wasn't very spicy but out had wonderfully fresh jalapeño slices and guacamole on top. The burger could use a little more seasoning, but, it was a very thick and juicy piece of meat. It comes with fries and a dipping sauce that is also house made. For dessert I tried their carrot cake. It's very good but it's missing the variations in texture that most people look toward carrot cake of providing. It's a very moist cake topped with more of a butter icing than a cream cheese icing. If there is cream cheese in that icing, I would recommend that you switch it toward Philadelphia Cream Cheese since it offers a bit more of a lemon bite to it. The cake itself has no fruit. So, off you hate raisins, have no fear. They are not in there. But, it would be nice if they did have some sort of fruit in the cake to help break up tie monotony of the cake itself.
