Took my children here for a treat, and a treat it was! We got a taro coconut milk with boba and two honey dew coconut milk with boba. All of the drinks were great. The service was friendly and fast. We especially like how they have a bunch of games to play and inviting atmosphere.

The tea, boba, rolled ice cream, and customer service is amazing! The owners are very bright and cheerful every time I come in. Some of the most kind and genuine people you can meet. My favorites are the Okinawa blended coffee with tapioca boba (add almond milk) and the Taro smoothie with tapioca boba! My favorite rolled ice cream is the cookies and cream with fruity pebbles on top. I look forward to some good conversation with the staff while enjoying a delicious treat. By far the best boba shop :)

I went to Tea Shack today for the first time with my siblings because I love boba and found out there was a new boba place within walking distance from my house. I drink boba at least twice a month and have tried boba drinks from at least a dozen different places (Quickly's, T4, Happy Lemon, iTea, Sharetea, etc.). These are my pros, cons, and neutrals from Tea Shack! Pros: - Location It's less than half a mile away walking distance which is so convenient! -Menu They have a variety of flavors of different drinks and several options of jelly and popping boba toppings which is nice. Cons: -Location It was hard to find while I was walking because the sign was so small. I had to walk around the plaza for a bit until I could find it. If you're driving, it shouldn't be as much of an issue tho. -Menu Slushie and Smoothie flavors were mixed on the menu, so it was hard to distinguish which flavors were smoothies and which were slushies. Regular boba was not on the list of toppings on the menu, but they do have it. The employee who rang up my order said they were going to update the menu tho! -Wait time Waited ~30 minutes for an order of a matcha smoothie, passion fruit slushie, and taro smoothie, all with regular boba. Currently, they only have one blender and are a new business, so it's understandable! Just a heads up to any customers on a time crunch. -Drink Quality I tasted the taro smoothie and matcha smoothie, both w/ boba. I really liked the taro sweetness but the matcha was too sweet for my taste. My sister tasted the passion fruit slushie and said it was too sweet also. Would be nice to have options for different sweetness! -Seating Very hole-in-the-wall place with a small area inside. Maybe 12-15 chairs but I'm afraid to see what it's like on a crowded day! Neutral: -Price Drinks are in the $4-5.25 range (toppings are additional $.50). Understandable for location and size but I don't think it's worth for the quality. -Boba Quality The boba pearl itself is chewier than I like but not too noticeable if you don't regularly drink a lot of boba. -Customer service No good nor bad lasting impressions about it. Takeaways: It's a convenient place to go if you're walking in the neighborhood and want a cold drink/ice cream with friends. However, I would not drive out of my way to go here compared to other boba places.

I've lived in the area for 4 years and just happened to see their small advertising sign on the roundabout. Was very excited to see a Boba place in the area so my daughter and I followed the sign. However, it was a bit hard to find, as it's tucked away near Mango Crazy and an insurance business. Small, but tidy and clean. Friendly and quick service. I ordered Passion Fruit Boba and it was delicious. It had a generous amount of boba pearls and not too sweet. My daughter had the strawberry smoothie. The consistency was a little more like juice and not thick like a typical smoothie, but she enjoyed it and said it tasted like real fruit. This is the best I've found in the area. It's hard to find a boba place that has floral tea options. I don't like sweet drinks, so I get a jasmine milk tea with zero sugar and it's perfect! Most boba places are just too sweet even when I ask for zero sugar. Service was fast as well! read more

My wife and I are regulars here. They're fairly new and the owners are super nice. They've got super delicious milk tea at an awesome price. And the rolled ice cream is amazing! This place is the cutest! I'm so glad there is a delicious shop closer to home. I love the one in Sonora bit that is a trek, and this one is 100% on par. At this point you could consider us regulars. When my kids want a treat, this is where they want to go every time. So far we've tried classic milk tea, strawberry smoothie, and matcha tea, and every one has been a hit. I enjoy the horchata coffee, and tend to get that most times. We love the atmosphere, and the people who run it are so friendly and helpful. It's a great asset to NE Modesto. read more

Their "most popular" classic milk tea with boba tasted like water. Boba was soft and chewy, but it tasted like nothing. A lot of their drinks are made with powder and a lot of ice. I wouldn't go here to get boba in Modesto. read more

I didn't used to be a boba tea drinker. I thought it was weird and used to scrunch my nose whenever someone mentioned it, but hear me out... Tea Shack was my first ever boba milk tea experience... I am a changed man. My granddaughter in Modesto is always raving about Boba and convinced me to try some when I was visiting. She got me a flavor called "taro" I'd never heard before from this Tea Shack... wow!! In all my years I've never had a drink as refreshing and fun as boba milk tea!! I'm glad I tried it!! I can't wait to come back after looking at the menu here. So many flavors, and such great pricing! I'm gonna have to try their rolled ice cream now that I see this is also something Tea Shack serves. Thank you, Tea Shack, for introducing this old man to a great new refreshment! The taro milk tea with 25% sugar is my go to drink. The coconut flavored tea with 25% sugar and coconut jelly is super good too. I love this place! The punch card it awesome, if you buy 10 drinks you get one free. read more

Poor customer service, and the tarot and Thai tea were less than mediocre compared to other tea places I have tried around here. The boba was also tasteless. On a positive note, it's in a good location... I just hope they can improve overall in the near future. read more

Disappointed. We were satisfied customers until today. This shop is within walking distance and my daughter loves trying different flavor milk teas. She knows the tea she likes is always $4 so she went there with a $5 today and they told her it went up to $5.12 since last time. I looked online to order delivery and the price still says $4. Very sad they would raise the price that much in such a short period of time. read more

I love this place! The owner always greets us with a smile and great customer service! I like my drinks sweet versus my fiancé likes it less sweet so we told the staff and they made our drinks perfectly! We also love their ice cream! I am a regular and love getting drinks from here. However, every time I come in there is terrible costumer service. I work in the food industry, so I am always very kind to other food workers, which is why the lack of kindness is surprising. Every time I order, they seem annoyed and reply snarky. I feel awkward and uncomfortable every time I am in there. Other friends of mine that go there consistently have the same experience. I will not stop going there because it is going to a great cause and they have the best drinks. I would just appreciate better costumer service. Thank you. read more

It took 47 minutes to get one order of rolled ice cream and 2 boba drinks. We will not be returning. Our icecream melted while we were waiting on the drinks as it was a to go order for my husband. They did remake it which was kind but service was impossibly slow. One lady left and didn't bother waiting the 40 mins for her one drink. This place was understaffed and moved beyond slow and the boba did not even taste good. With so many other boba shops in town there are many other options. We usually wait 5 mins tops for double the drink order at any other boba store in town. read more

My 10 year old daughter wanted to write a review. "This place is the one of the best dessert places I have ever been to! Comforting bubble teas and pan rolled ice creams to drink and munch on. I've always wanted to try pan rolled ice cream, and luckily there's a spot right by my house! I also love their Thai milk tea. BEST MILK TEA you will ever have. I am by no means a boba expert, but I have tried every boba shop in the 3 cities I've lived in including Davis (with a shop or two on every corner) and Modesto here and none of them compares. The owners are amazing with an inspiring story behind opening up the shop and the logo is representative of their family values. This is the definition of a small business and I love supporting small. Their boba and teas are on point. They also serve ice cream and some other items I have yet to try because I always crave their boba tea. Dairy free "milk" tea options available so there is something for everyone! read more

They actually feel like they help with recovery instead of just tasting sweet. The picture I posted of the Hulk and donut is from a few months ago, but that shake is still one of my favorites here. They once gave me a donut to try, and it was really good and paired perfectly with the shake. Today after my long run, I asked for something hydrating with protein and the owner Yesenia made me Tropical Zing. It tasted great and definitely helped me rehydrate after the run. Exactly what I needed. The service is always great. Every employee I've interacted with has been welcoming and friendly, and you can tell that comes from good leadership. Yesenia has built a great team and it shows. The ambiance is another plus. The shop is always super clean, has nice aesthetics, and is just a comfortable spot to stop in and recharge. This boba tea shop is honestly one of the best I've ever been to! I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba and it was perfect -- sweet, creamy, and the pearls were so soft and chewy. The shop itself is super clean and decorated beautifully with cute pastel colors. The staff were friendly and patient when I couldn't decide what to get. I love how the drinks come out quickly even when it's busy. The music is upbeat but not too loud, which makes it a fun place to chill. This place is the best place for people to hang out at. The owner is so nice and lets my friends and I hang out for hours, and she even has games out for customers to use. It's true that sometimes service can be a little slow, but if there's not a ton of people in the shop then you get your order in like 5-10 minutes. If you're new to boba, like I was when I went for the first time, she's extremely helpful. If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. This place suddenly opened the same month and year that I moved here. The tea is watery and the owners are rude. The atmosphere is bizarre. They have a huge creepy mural on the wall of a baby along with other art work that has nothing to do with tea. It's uncomfortable to get tea there. A couple of visits, I never went back. read more
