This was my first high tea experience and it did not disappoint! A little pricey but the decor inside was really cute and the service was okay. A nice way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. Got the Garden Tea which came with 4 different types of sandwiches (2 pieces of each), a salad, a slice of cake, some assorted pastries, fruit, and of course tea. It was actually quite filling and I understood why the price was on the higher side. The sandwiches were all pretty good - my favorites were the cucumber mint and the flower cream cheese ones. The goat cheese and tomato also had great flavor, as well as the salmon. The Mandarin salad was just okay, and the cake I chose was the Chocolate Mousse but they gave a slice that resembled German Chocolate more? We browsed the menu and decided to split the "harvest tea" special menu that was $65 plus a split fee of $15. The pot of tea that we started with was the harvest pumpkin chai. My daughter's bridal shower tea at Tea Rose Garden on 4/5/25 was perfectly royal from the planning stages to the end. Event Coodinator, Adam, was very efficient & addressed every detail, the staff service was so accommodating and the Signature menu was delicious...we just added the lemon curd & espresso brownie bites to the dessert selections which made it over the top and scone bags were offered at the end for their take home desserts. Wed at 11:00 Street parking was plentiful on a weekday. We were running late but were accommodated immediately upon arrival. The Tea Rose Garden was super cute. I loved the homely decor. I chose to sit next to the fountain and was occasionally sprinkled with water but it wasn't too distracting. The menu isn't the most intuitive, but we figured out soon enough that we needed to flip back and forth in the menu for different options. There were many options that sounded similar. In the end I settled on Tea Rose Afternoon Tea ($38) which came with 3 options for finger sandwiches and a scone of choice (with no choice on tea time bites, and no cakes). I selected the Vanilla Almond black tea, and the first cup was amazing! Then I couldn't taste the flavor thereon after. My partner selected the Signature Tea Rose Black. I recommend that for folks wavering between the two options. Each table gets a little jug of milk if requested. No heavy cream available :( For the tea sandwiches I selected Cucumber, Flower Herb Cream Cheese, and Spicy Salmon Tempter. I liked and would select the Flower Herb Cream Cheese again! The server wasn't very knowledgeable. He indicated the egg salad had garlic and basil in it but neither of these seasonings were in the egg salad. The egg salad was good and fresh. Do not get the lemon chiffon cake. It's not like a chiffon. It's a typical lemon cake very heavy and not a light dessert. Personally I didn't care for it at all. The ambiance is cute and it's a lot bigger than most tea rooms. I would have preferred fixed tea option menu without some individual order limit of $15. It just made it confusing and unpleasant to try to figure out what we could order on the menu. It would've been helpful to have our server explain options or how others usually order. Three friends and I attended afternoon tea last month. We set a reservation at 2:30PM. Originally we tried to book a bit earlier, but it seems that reservation slims closer to the desired dates; I recommend booking 2 weeks in advance for weekend time slots. Also, I tried reserving via email (as their website listed as an option) but was instructed to call. Once there, we were seated by the fireplace along the right side of the entrance. This, in my opinion, was probably the 2nd best table options. First would have been at a larger tables under the under the arbor at the front. I would say the front tables had better lighting compared to the tables that were further in. It was also slightly quieter. We had a young guy with glasses and long hair serving us during our afternoon tea. Although he did not know everything off the menu, he was great. He checked on us a good amount of times, made suggestions on teas when we ask for recommendations, and even brought a small table when our main table became too overwhelmed with tower trays and tea pots. Our group ended up order a Tea for Two ($53) and 2 Garden Tea sets ($42 ea) to feed and libate our group of four. This gave us the option to order a total of 8 different tea sandwiches that each person could sample and a tea pot choice of tea. (The favorite sandwich among my party was the cucumber mint and the least was the salmon temper.) The con to this choice of tea sets was that the sets only included 2 macarons, 2 creme puffs and 2 slices of cake to share among four people. In my opinion, these sweet selections were just alright. They were also not the most horrible, but I did, however, feel like the cakes (lemon chiffon and chocolate options) were defrosted. Potted teas (other than the afternoon tea experience) were actually the highlights for Tea Rose Garden. We ordered the Signature Tea Rose Garden, Moroccan Mint, Lavender Earl Gray and Cinnamon Plum. All teas were very notable, but not overpowering. My favorite from the four would've been the Signature however. Each person probably was able to get at least 2 cups of tea per pot. And to our surprise instead of nicely advising us on what to get and how everything works he was so condescending and rolled his eyes whenever we asked a question. Although the little desserts you get were way too strong, the brownie was super bitter and way too strong for that little piece and same for the lemon pastry. Tranquility and elegance are the words that come to mind when I think of my visits to Tea Rose Garden. One of my absolute favorite Tea Rooms because the service is quick and attentive. The tea sandwiches are well portioned, they are large enough to be filling but not so large that they overwhelm ones pallet. The tiny eclairs and desserts are so flavorful and compliment the teas so well. The teas are so comforting, served with cream and sugar or honey. The pink lemonade is also a must, it comes served with flower petals, giving it a nice light floral taste. The ambiance is so enjoyable and the perfect place to take some photos. This was my first time dining out since March 2020, and while they followed all Covid rules and regulations, my review will be about the tea experience itself. Some of the tables are tiny circular tables. So small that to fit two tea pots, two tiered afternoon tea trays, cups and flatware is an impressive feat. We asked to be moved to the a square table for four. It's worth noting that we were the ONLY ones seated at such a small table, even though only one other party there had more than two people. There are several different options for afternoon tea. Options like Garden Afternoon Tea, English Tea or French Tea etc. They all come with choice of tea, tea bites (petit four sized sweet bites), and various choices of finger sandwiches. My friend and I both opted for the Tea Rose Afternoon Tea ($30 per person). The teapot came out first, I went for their Signature Tea Rose Black. It was lightly floral and pleasant. My friend went for the Vanilla Almond and enjoyed her choice as well. The tiered trays came out next, each with a small salad on the bottom tier, along with your selection of finger sandwiches. The second tier holds a scone of your choice (some of the other tea menus include a cake choice instead or scone), as well as the tea bites (things like lemon curd bite, espresso brownie bite, etc...four bites in total). The top tier held the Devonshire cream and raspberry preserves, a small cup of mixed fruit and some mint sprigs. The amount of food was great...don't go with a full belly to any tea, but the overall quality of the food as well as the display left me wishing I was at tea in London instead. We both chose the same finger sandwiches from the extensive list...carrot cheese which was shredded carrots mixed with cheddar, Parmesan and herbs. This was actually not bad, although it kind of tasted like melted Kraft American cheese. The second choice was the goat cheese and sundried tomato...which tasted neither like goat cheese nor sun-dried tomato?? The last choice was the best...cucumber mint - fresh mint and marinated cucumber with cream cheese, herbs and spices. This was refreshing and tasty. I WISH I would have seen the note that wheat bread upon request is possible, because the white bread tasted like Wonderbread. Unfortunately our server wasn't the most helpful in her explanation of anything we asked. The fresh fruit and jam, and cream on the top shelf were also served in those tiny clear plastic to-go sauce cups. Which just really took the whole thing down a notch. Yes, this may seem dramatic to some, but I absolutely love afternoon teas and have been lucky enough to do many all around the world. Never have I seen anything served in plastic. And while some may say this is due to Covid, that doesn't make sense when every other vessel was porcelain or glass. The ambiance of the room itself also leaves a lot to be desired. It felt a bit like a cheesy banquet hall. Fake bamboo chairs, cheap green table cloths, and dated decor (and not in the cute vintage-antique tea way!) Overall, I had a great time because of the company I was with, and not having dined out in 14 months, I might have even been excited with The Olive Garden...ok that's not true. Nothing about the Olive Garden doesn't depress me. If you're looking for an amazing afternoon tea in LA, stick with the Peninsula in Beverly Hills. Beautiful setting, attentive service, fabulous food and tea. Yes, it is several times the price of Tea Rose Garden, but worth it. There are other options less costly than the Peninsula, but with several places still closed for tea in LA in general, this is where we landed. read more

First and foremost, the ambiance is great. Nicely decorated throughout, even had some comfy couches upfront to relax in til your table is ready. I visited over mother's day weekend which had a set menu. An opportunity to try pretty much everything they offer which was wonderful, but a lot of food. We all took home a box of leftovers. Presentation was great. Fresh flowers and herbs was a nice touch. Even the starter salad was nicely served and quite good. It was very busy so with that came long wait times to order and to receive our food. Even with that, we didn't feel rushed. I found parking about 1/2 block away. There was a structure and a open lot behind it convenient for bigger vehicles. I liked the location being 1 block off the main street, Colorado Blvd, so just far enough away from all the craziness. No dress code, but this is the kinda place it's fun to dress the part. A pretty dress and hat completes the experience.
