Nice spot near Sac State and conveniently close to home, so I decided to check it out for the first time. They do offer a wide variety of snacks, which is great, but unfortunately our experience with the food was disappointing. There was only one staff member working -- taking orders, handling payments, and preparing all the food -- which made the service slow and a bit chaotic. She seemed overwhelmed, and it definitely affected the quality of what we received. My kids enjoyed the cheese sticks, which was the one positive part of our order. However, everything else fell short. The Popcorn Basil Chicken was extremely salty to the point where it was hard to eat. I also ordered the avocado shake, and it tasted unpleasant -- almost like the avocado had gone bad, giving the drink a sour, spoiled flavor. I'm sorry to describe it this way, but that is genuinely how it tasted. The taro drink wasn't as bad, but it wasn't particularly good either. The ambience inside was fine, and they do have some nice game options, which is a plus. However, the outside area felt a little rough, and we saw homeless individuals nearby, which may make some customers uncomfortable. Overall, the location has potential, but the food quality and overall experience need improvement before I would consider returning. I have been coming to this place for years, long before I was part of the Yelp Community. Whenever I'm in need of some bento comfort food or a reward after a good workout session, this is the place to go. From the outside this place looks a little sketch. There's a liquor store at the end of the little strip mall and there can be people loitering around. But please, do not let this deter you from visiting this hole-in-the-wall gem. Once you walk in the store gives off the friendliest boba tea vibes, complete with multiple places to sit, that fake grass stuff on the wall (I love it), and lo-fi music playing in the background. The place is always clean. There are even games in the corner for groups of people to borrow while they are enjoying their tea or snacks. I've tried a number of things on the menu. The chicken katsu is my all-time favorite (soooo crispy and juicy!). Tonight I called ahead and asked to place an order to go and the woman told me they were out of katsu. NOOOO! So I asked her for recommendations because it's been so long since I've had anything else (hey, if it tastes good then why change?). She suggested the teriyaki chicken bento box. I purchased that instead and ended up buying a Thai tea with boba as well (sorry, I was thirsty from my 5.5 mile run and kinda sorta drank it without getting a photo...oops). I took the teriyaki home and the food was still deliciously warm when I opened it up. I was given soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and sriracha sauce for my meal, and while I prefer low sodium soy sauce I totally dug into the other packets. The sauce was great! In addition to the teriyaki, my box came with broccoli, rice and three sesame seed ube balls (there are two in my photo because hunger. See boba comment above). Everything was delicious and filling. If you are ever in the mood for some Asian cuisine that isn't too heavy, and you are in the area, give these guys a try. I would rate this place a 4.5 out of ten based on the following: Drinks: -taro smoothie half sugar with egg pudding -dragon fruit chia smoothie half sugar The consistency of my drink was perfect. I ordered it half sugar bc I was afraid it would be too sweet but it was actually not too sweet at all. The drink would have prob been perfect had it been full sugar so that's my own fault. As for the taro smoothie and its toppings, it was decent however the texture wasn't as perfect as mine and my bf and I agreed the taro flavor could have been stronger. It was also pretty sweet despite being 50%, so I have a feeling they probably add less taro powder rather than omit the sugar which is why it was blander. I think it's safer to just go for full sugar or 75 percent for their smoothie based drinks so as to not mess with the taste and consistency of the drink. Food: Went on a hot weekday and ordered a mango smoothie with boba. Their menu is quite extensive, so it took us a while to choose, but the employee very patiently waited for us to finally decide. The drink itself was very refreshing and delicious, but the price was quite steep for us. Boba/toppings is an extra $0.75, and even with the 10% off with a yelp check-in, it still came out to be $8.07 before tip. Ambiance: There were three to four tables and a few outlets, with music that was faintly playing in the background. WiFi was pretty spotty though so I wouldn't recommend it as a work spot; during my time here, it seemed like most people just picked up their order and left. I barely leave one star review but the milk tea here is literally bad. The oolong milk tea tasted like plain milk and the jasmine milk tea tasted super artificial. I took a sip of the jasmine milk tea and had to spit it out because it tasted like candle and perfume. There's absolutely no tea flavor in the drink, only artificial flavoring. Tea, boba and snacks. Plenty of options to get your drink on. Weather you like em hot, iced or blended they got you. We have tried a variety of drinks and bonas. The kids favorite are the popping bobas and the adults like the jelly bobas. The service has been ok when it is packed and decent when its not. They do have some board games to play when waiting or chilling out for your drinks/food. Parking in the lot can be tricky and packed, seating they do have some. They also have point system here with 5 stars. A gem in a somewhat sketchy plaza. This place may be hidden in the corner but the interior is very welcoming and nice. It's not overloaded with ice either so I got a good amount of the drink. Curry Chicken Bento - I love curry and I love chicken katsu, so combining both made me choose it super quick. It comes with 3 sesame balls that are soft and chewy. Katsu chicken is already great on its own but with the flavor of the curry, it was even better. Just keep in mind it won't be as crispy as it usually is since it's bathed in curry.It's a pretty big portion as well so I'm happy about this. My partner and I came here after KBBQ trying to find a good boba fix. I was so shocked to see where this place was located! We came at night and the area doesn't seem the safest (especially at night), but it was bright and clean inside the shop. They have a variety of food options and a good selection of drinks/toppings to choose from. Although there didn't seem to be a lot of orders (maybe they had online orders, I'm not sure), our two drinks took a bit of time to come out. But let me tell you--the wait was worth every second. My partner ordered the Coffee Crema Latte and it was one of the (very few) best coffee-based drinks I've had at a boba shop. Coffee tends to be a hit or miss at boba shops, so I tend to avoid it. But I took one sip of this drink and I fell in love! You can ACTUALLY taste the coffee in the drink and it doesn't taste artificial. They did a really good job with this drink. As for my Brown Sugar Creme Brulee Latte, I liked it. I usually get simple drinks when coming to a new boba place go get a sense of what their teas taste like, but I decided to switch it up. This drink is a bit sweeter in my opinion, so I would suggest adjusting the sugar if you aren't fond of that (I should have)! The crema on top was very rich and salty, just the way it should be. This is an update for when I came back for another try. For regular tea drinkers, it's best to be up front about usual preference. I would appreciate being asked how much ice and sweetness was wanted when I ordered though. I was told by one staff how a nondairy coconut milk is always used for the drinks, so this clarifies how only one type of nondairy milk is used here. Different service from different baristas may also make a difference, like most anywhere. This time I tried a honey lemon green tea and added grass jelly. A few inches of the regular cup was filled with jelly, and two large slices of lemon were in the cup. Still sweeter than expected at my ordered 25%, but the fresh lemon flavor showed. The jasmine tea was more lost to me though, overpowered by the sweet and lemon flavors. Even so, I still finished too fast to take pictures on this hotter Spring afternoon. I won't go out of my way to stop by, but that's just me. This cafe is good for any who like a few different sweet teas and drinks with toppings, as well as some snacks. read more

So excited to see a newer boba place pop up! I tried the Oolong Milk Tea 25% sweet with boba. The boba is smaller than the typical size but is cute and chewy with a little sweetness. The tea itself tastes great at this level of sweet but that's my preference. The popcorn chicken was actually pretty bomb; a little crispier and saltier than our typical go-to T4. The place is tucked into a corner next to a Gyro Shop and a liquor store. There are some indoor tables and a cubby with board games to enjoy. I gave this place a chance because it was close to Sac State and I was craving a boba so I stopped by. I got a thai tea half sweet with boba and it was really good and surprisingly not too much ice, just perfect. I loved seeing all the different food options that they had but I didn't get a chance to try any of them today. The electronic menu boards were very easy to read and all available options were on it for food and drinks. If I still went to school at Sac State, I'd probably add this to my list of quick nearby lunch spots because they have bento boxes on the menu. We decided to skip the bento boxes though and try the snacks instead today. We ordered the basil popcorn chicken, takoyaki, and lobster balls. The popcorn chicken was nicely cooked and I liked that it didn't have too much batter, but they didn't have any dipping sauces! They only gave us packets of soy sauce, sriracha, and sweet and sour sauce on the side. We used the sweet and sour on the lobster balls, but I would've liked ranch or sweet chili sauce for the popcorn chicken. I did appreciate that they gave a separate container of spices on the side so you could control how spicy you want it. But it wasn't a typical spice mixture like other popcorn chicken we have had - this one was definitely heavy on the chili powder. The lobster balls were okay, again cooked really nicely but nothing too unique. My favorite of the three was the takoyaki by far. It was really good for a snack at a boba shop! I tried out their a honeydew milk tea with egg pudding. It wasn't terrible but nothing special either, and I finished it so fast because of all the ice. I didn't realize you could adjust ice and sweetness until looking at the menu again later, since the cashier never asked about those customizations while we were ordering. My husband's coffee crema latte was definitely the better drink of the two, but it wasn't cold enough. It was like the ice proportions in both of our drinks were way off! Overall I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon but I'd be willing to give the drinks another shot if I'm in the area.
