It honestly hit the spot before my drive back to Austin! The staff was also really friendly throughout my visit. The only downside was that it took a little longer than I expected to get my drink, especially since there was only one person ahead of me. I like what I like, just as others like what they like. So I wasn't sure what I was going to get stuck with. So on the way to the outskirts of Katy, we stopped in at Ding Tea. Let me tell you how busy this area was on a beautiful Sunday before lunar New Year. There wasn't a single parking space to be had in three different lots. There was traffic everywhere in people. Do not drive well when they're looking for a parking spot. People just stopped in the middle of the parking lot and didn't move. Waiting for someone to walk out of a building. Super annoying. Luckily, Ding Tea is located behind lot of the larger restaurants and the golf course and other super busy areas. There was a parking spot waiting for me out front and it was easy to get in and out. We ended up getting a tea to share, and two to go with us to the party. We also got an order of the popcorn chicken. I wish they would have it a little bit spicier on its own, without having to dip it into things. A little seasoning goes a long way! I also got a mango smoothie mainly for my kiddo, but it tasted super chalky and artificial. Even he didn't like it and after a few sips we ended up throwing it away. Normally I would've gotten a coffee or milk tea, but I skipped caffeine that day. Maybe their coffee or milk teas are better and maybe other food items are too. I'd still be willing to give this place another try if I'm in the area because I did like everything else about the place. But I personally wouldn't recommend the poke bowl or fruit smoothies.

We visited this location and ordered pretzels with cinnamon and sugar, but unfortunately they barely had any cinnamon or sugar on them. It was not a major issue, and we were not upset. After leaving, I realized I did not receive the receipt, so I returned to ask for it. The employee who originally helped us, Keenan, asked if everything was okay, and I simply told him I would leave a review. We then left. A few moments later, my son suggested we go back and politely give feedback directly to the employee instead, so he would not potentially get blamed or stressed over a review when he really did nothing wrong. When we returned to the drive-thru, a manager named Nina came to the window. I politely asked if I could briefly speak with Keenan for just a moment. Nina immediately refused and repeatedly insisted that I could only speak to her because she was the manager. I explained multiple times that Keenan was not in trouble and that I simply wanted to give him direct feedback myself. Eventually, Keenan came closer to the window, but Nina stood directly behind him during the entire conversation listening in, which felt very uncomfortable and unnecessary. I explained to Keenan that I was not upset at all, that he did nothing wrong, and that I only wanted to mention the pretzels politely instead of leaving a complaint online. Unfortunately, the manager's attitude completely changed the experience. Nina came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, even though the interaction could have been handled calmly and respectfully from the beginning. Again, this review is not about Keenan. He was polite and did his job well. The issue was entirely with how the manager handled a very simple and respectful customer interaction.

It was supposed to be half sweet but it ended up being overwhelmingly sweet. Like even more than if you got regular sweetness level. It just tasted like syrup. The shake was chalky and you can taste the powder and it had like a grainy texture. It didn't taste awful but it was just not good at all either. I'm not sure if it's related to them being new so maybe they need time. But the only thing that saved this experience was how nice they were.
