BEWARE THIS COMPANY! This company is fraudulent in its services. If you go check multiple service speed tests. It's always well below what they advertise unless you go to their specific speediest site. They also overcharge an additional month past date you cancel and refuse to correct and unless you pay they directly send it to a collection agency and mess up your credit rating. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I personal am going though this experience with them in North western WI. I received their bill. then called them and canceled them. the following month received another bill. 1 month after canceling them. I called them to correct it. basically told to bad and to pay it. We believe you would be extremely ill-advised to even entertain the thought of switching to this scam-like business. We had their "service" for 1 1/2 months. We had them out several times, but the issues were never resolved permanently. When the full month bill was received in Sheboygan, they claimed that another business wrote the contract; therefore, they were not responsible for the huge increase in the monthly bill. We said we have the contracted amount on hard-copy, and they would not honor it. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Absolutely horrible experience with TDS. Initially when they came to put the line in they tore up my yard. Left rocks littering the yard, did not even try to clean up the holes they put in. I wish I would have read the reviews before I decided to have TDS for service. I purchased their highest speed internet because I work from home 3 days a week and my service constantly cut out and had to reconnect. In order to correct the issue, I "upgraded" to their whole home wifi service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had already had an eero system in my home, but their sales person acted like this was some other service they offer (it is not).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the technician came I told them I had my own devices and just needed them to connect well to the system. Apparently, the technician proceeded to install a TDS Eero (no way to see this they look just like regular ones) that I did not need nor know about. I have been charged $6.99/month for this device for 18 months without my knowledge or consent. I cancelled my service at the end of March because of the spotty connection and I was able to getter faster, more reliable service with Spectrum for 1/2 of the cost. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was sent boxes to return my equipment, (they do not provide a list or anything telling you what you should return or what they are expecting), which I thought I did.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, 4 weeks later I received a bill from TDS for $426. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called to ask what this was related to (after being transferred to 3 different agents) I was informed that I needed to return two Eero devices that they installed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I double checked all of the serial numbers and discovered one was theirs, but I did not have the other one they were claiming, and it had never been on my Eero account where I can see all activity. I had no option but to return the one they had installed without my knowledge or content (happy to do so, just frustrated that I had been paying for something I don't need or didn't want). In addition, I now have to pay $140+ for an Eero I never received, used and don't possess or they will place me in collections. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked to talk to someone about the issue and was told no the Eero is in their system and was installed in my home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have receipts for all of the devices in my home and their device was never on my network, but apparently the technician who they will not contact or name said it was so it was, no other evidence needed. My advice, read and believe the reviews on TDS customer service, quality, and cost and go elsewhere. I will pay for this device but they have lost one customer for life and I will advise everyone I know to use any other option. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I received numerous texts and emails telling me that they were coming at specific dates and time windows.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took off work each time. The first three times they were unable to install my internet because there weren't enough ports on the green utility box to accommodate me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was after they assured me that they HAD installed more of them![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to call my underground sprinkler provider twice to mark locations. Today an installer was supposed to arrive between 8 and 11 in the morning. He called to say he might make it by noon but that he's really backed up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He added that my appointment was tacked on at the last minute. This was an appointment I made 3 weeks ago and was assured that I would be first on the list[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am cancelling my service request. I cannot afford to lose more time at work[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I will stick with my more expensive Spectrum internet even though they have frequent outages. read more

I have internet service in the Elkhorn area. It went out and i called customer service. They tried to reboot the modern and when that didn't work they scheduled a tech to come out. The first appointment was 14 days later. Really, 14 days. No explanation, just a lot of apologies. Totally unacceptable, but they are evidently a monopoly there. Very disappointing. read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with for internet service. First of all they could not even bill correctly. The customer service tried to tell me I was wrong about the service I ordered and had set up, which was internet. TDS customer service decided that a person would have the need for a home phone service... I had to send a copy of the email conversation for internet only and still the company could not understand They instead discounted the alleged phone. Called to cancel their service and the customer anti-service still insisted I had phone connection. They owe me a refund that has not been sent to me in the 6 months since cancel. Only use TDS (at least in the Elkhorn area) as an absolute last resort. When working I use my AT&T hotspot as it's much faster. TDS speeds are slow, inconsistent and over priced. If I get 1mb upload I am having a great day. read more

I live in the elkhorn area and had tds for about two years. The prices cointinued to go up throughout our time with them. when we finally decided to cancel service, our official last day was the 30th of the month. because our cycle started on the 28th apparently, they have decided to charge us for the entire month, $130. The service was disconnected on the 30th. we had no access to the services they are expecting us to pay for for the ramining 29 days in the month. They also tried to claim we had not sent back our equipment even though we had. luckily we were able to prove that the package had been shipped via tracking number because they wanted an extra $150 for their used modem box. Absolutely do not use them. find someone else. The service wasn't great and their customer service has been atrocious! read more

Buyer Beware! Absolutely the worst experience ever! TDS sales rep actually told me to call Spectrum instead. No tech service hours to accommodate working people. M-F 8-5 only. When TV service stopped working and there was no reasonable way to have them service it without taking off work, I canceled. They accidentally also canceled my internet. also charged me $21.95 for a cardboard box to return the modem. Now I'm being charged back for promotional credits I used but since I canceled before the promo ended, they somehow think they can bill me for them??? Paid for Tv through 9/21 but canceled on 8/31. No refund. What? Just the tip of the iceberg in what has been my worst customer service experience of my lifetime and I'm 56 years old. Terrible customer service! We are selling our house, we asked to have our services cancelled at the end of our billing cycle because we close on the same day. Understand they don't have offices for you to go to resolve your problems. Every time I call them I had to wait for 30 mins or longer to get to actually talk to someone. Well great, my patience paid off, I talked to some one, now I find that they won't send out the return boxes for the equipment we have at our house until AFTER our service has been cancelled (to be received 3-5 Business days later). Honestly, don't waste your time with this internet provider. I ordered internet through them a few weeks ago and the rep I spoke with seemed knowledgeable and I felt like he got me set up with a great package and reasonable rate. He told me that they can offer me the fastest internet connection at our new house. He got me an appointment to get everything installed for two weeks after ordering. Today, a tech was supposed to come between 8-10 am to set up. When no one showed up I called TDS at 11 and the person I spoke with informed me that they realized they couldn't offer the fastest internet so they cancelled my appointment. They never called or showed up to inform me so I wasted an entire morning waiting around for them. Instead, I got 2 emails and 2 text messages confirming my appointment for set up this morning. This company clearly doesn't value their customers and I'm actually relieved that I had this experience because I'm sure this wouldn't have been the last of our issues through them. Communication is clearly lacking. We're definitely going to find a different internet provider. read more
