I found this place on yelp and decided to bring her by. My immediate impression when I pulled up was "turn around don't stop!" Why is that you ask? Because the outside looked abandoned with overgrown landscape. It didn't feel inviting, clean like a place I would want anything to do with. I contemplated leaving so I read reviews before making decision. Seems lots of people are appalled by the looks. Well I gave it a try. I walked in talked with staff and left her for the day. I don't have anything negative, the staff I interacted with seemed friendly. I wasn't given a tour of the place which is new to me as most places have given me a tour so I snot know what goes on behind the scenes but if it's anything like the front maybe that's why. However what I can see from cameras it's not so bad. Overall I will bring again but I recommend doing something with the front. Curb appeal is a thing if you aren't aware.

There are very few places where you trust a business with your whole heart...now add your favorite…read morelittle buddies heart into the mix. It's SO hard to find a vet where you feel like they have both the animal & the pet parents best interest at heart, Riverwalk does both. They are nothing short of incredible. I have had animals my whole life & have been to plenty of vet offices over the years & none of them have compared to RIverwalk. They are cost effective, try to do what's necessary, without adding a bunch of extra charges. THEY TRULY CARE & have the skill to help your fur babies. This year, my husband and I have lost two of our childhood dogs in a matter of four months. They were there through all the trials and tribulations and helped prolong their lives and kept them comfortable until it was time to say goodbye, they were there for that as well. Not only have they gone above and beyond for us and our pets care, they have personally checked on us during a vet visit to see how we're doing numerous times and said if we ever need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on to reach out to them. They also have written us beautiful cards with heartfelt messages, not just signatures, sending condolences for our babies. We have experienced multiple doctors there, and every single one has the same level of care and integrity. We love you guys and are so grateful for your generosity, expertise, and care. Thank you!

We have been clients of Riverwalk for several years and have entrusted them with the care of two…read moredogs and one cat. During that time, both of our dogs passed away due to old age, and our cat is now three years old. Throughout those years, our experience with the veterinarians and technicians has been consistently positive. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing quality care for their patients. The reason for this review is not the quality of care, but the clinic's prescription refill policy. When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years. However, this experience with prescription refill policies and the lack of a clear & logical explanation has been disappointing and has changed my perspective on an otherwise excellent practice. Note that this might be the case with all veterinary clinics

The last prescription never made and I moved the order to PetMeds as a fast shipmen becasue my dogs needs the pill right away. When I called the vet office to let them know about they were about to be contacted by PetMeds for a vet approval the receptionist just told me "I cannot approve this order" because your dogs are due for their annuals on July 22nd. Well they need this med right way and told her and my dogs were not overdue for the well exam and testing I replied. I also explained that I could not rush this well exam visit because I was waiting to get well to drive and my husband could not drive either due to a recent knee replacement. She continued to say I cannot approve this order. When I confronted her that the approval should come from the vet and not from her she told me the vet was on vacation and hung up on me. For once they have around 3 to 4 vets there and more than one have seen my dogs. Second- it's unacceptable to receive such rudeness behavior from any body including the receptionist. Third- a vet on vacation should have a back up for cases like this. Fourth- she should have transferred the situation to a vet instead of her taking on it like she was vet or the owner. Fifth- what a deplorable situation to have staff that behaves like that loosing a customer in a second just like that.

In other words, they seem to either really love them or completely loathe them. For the most part, my experiences here have been positive so my loyalty remains intact. I started bringing my cat here when I adopted her 5 years ago for routine vaccines as well as minor illnesses. Every doctor and vet tech I've encountered has shown a genuine interest in the well being of animals and they always treat my cat like a queen. I also appreciate the fact that they make an effort to be upfront about pricing by disclosing the cost of each procedure before they are performed and even offering (cheaper) alternatives if possible. The amount is not set in stone though! The last time I brought my cat in for an illness the final bill ended up being about 25% higher than what I was initially told it would be. Only once did I stray from CityVet (no pun intended!) because another vet nearby had an earlier appointment. Despite the fact this this place has a 5 star Yelp rating I didn't find the level of care to be any better, just more expensive. So, it was an easy decision to stick with CityVet.
