The worst part is that I live 5 hours away!! The water ice was so good I haven't had water ice since i visited Philly for my summers years ago. To my surprise they also have a food menu. This place is perfect for families and I think it would make a great first date! So chill and fun. Relaxed good food and a easy place to talk. Theses was such a special place for us when they were still in O'Fallon, and though it's a bit more of a drive, we are so happy they are back in the area. Y'all this place is delicious! I have tried a bunch of their water ice and I've tried one flavor of their ice cream (banana pudding) and they're all incredible. I wasn't familiar with water ice, but it's like a lighter (better) version of Italian ice. You can't beat this for a sweet dairy free treat! The service is fairly quick depending on the time of the year. They have a decent covered area to sit down and eat. I typically take mine to-go because I'd rather sit indoors somewhere. Good Ice cream but rude workers. The ice cream and water ice are both very good. I haven't had a chance to try the food yet. After we placed our order, we waited and waited but for some reason our ticket never got called but everyone after us kept getting called. After waiting about 15 minutes for ice cream and about 11 orders that came after us were all called before us, I went to the window and gave them my ticket/receipt and let them know that our number must have been missed. She never apologized, just said "ok I'll check on it". Then when we finally got our order, they got my daughter's item wrong, so she had to go to the counter and explain that it was the wrong item. My daughter is very shy and timid and told the lady that "she" was sorry that they got her order wrong and apologized if she wasn't clear. They remade her order and when the guy called my daughter up for her corrected order, from my seat, I gave him the thumbs up with a smile and said thanks, he turned his head, never smiled, never said sorry for the inconvenience, the lady at the counter never apologized or anything either even after my daughter "nicely I will add" apologized for "their" mistake. He then came next to our table to do the trash and was shaking it very loudly and rudely next to us while we sat to eat. Looks to me like a group of young adults working at the store with no real management supervision so they don't know how to treat customers in a polite manner. I will not patronize this place again! This is a place that you have to try. I when I say try, once you "try" it, you'll want to come back. Philly Ice is new to the St. Louis metro east area. The ice isn't like Tropical snow or a snow cone. It's unique. This is what gelato is to ice cream, Philly ice is to frozen water. It's smooth texture, the use of nature flavors aren't overpowering, but it is refreshing. The ice cream is unique also. It's thick and doughy (in the best possible way) and creamy. I think it would stand up to a hot Midwest summer. Combine the two and you have an awesome combo of textures and flavors. I had the watermelon dream(watermelon ice and vanilla ice cream) the watermelon was mellow. Didn't have that artificial taste which was nice. Also tried the banana, the root beer, the pineapple, and the mango. The pineapple and mango had chunks of the fruit in it and had a clean strong taste of the flavor. Cane here because our youngest daughter has a dairy and egg allergy so she misses out on good dessert. And let's face it , her placement desserts aren't that great. This however is a treat for her. She ate her whole kiddie size portion and for once she could be "normal" and eat what everyone else can eat. read more
