Shoutout to the employee working late night on Waffle Cone Wednesday. He was energetic, nice, and a great energy. He gave us great recs, was not concerned about how many samples my friends and I asked for, and was just overall full of laughs. It was a quite late night at TCBY, but the employee brought plenty of energy for my friends and I. While wafflecone wednesday is still relatively overpriced for frozen yogurt (no longer the nostalgic 99 cents), there is a good number of selections and the salted brownie ice cream was great and really hit the taste. Its a small store, but still has some seating space for a group of 5ish with two kiddie tables. Great vibes, good selection of froyo/ice cream flavors, and quick and easy from in and out. There was no line when we entered, so the employee working had a good time making conversation with us. Will not be returning to this TCBY. Where do I start - the soft serve yogurt was hardly frozen making the cone an instant mess, the cone was sloppy and wasn't straight which added to the rapidly melting pile of ice cream. Our cup of soft serve had the same issue with how it was swirled into the cup. $1.19 for a spoonful of sprinkles, $1.00 for a waffle when we asked for and received a sugar cone but was told regardless it was a fee for the cone. I am so irritated right now. I live in randallstown, 37 minutes away, and unfortunately, we do not have any TCBY's closer to me than this one. Recently, the Timonium location permanently closed down, so, as far as I'm aware- Columbia is the last that remains within a drivable distance. I just went through the finalization of what ended up being a terrible breakup (of my 9-year-long romantic relationship) today after my spouse who once had 15 years of sobriety relapsed and has allowed the drugs to destroy our family. In the midst of this tragedy, tonight, ALL I wanted, and was [very randomly] craving to soothe my spirit and hopefully, make me feel better... was some TCBY yogurt. I decided to do something to practice some "self care" for myself and make the half hour drive all the way out to Columbia to get myself TCBY; after all, it's my favorite ice cream there is and it's been YEARS since I've had it, ever since moving from the Ellicott City area. The website advertises that the Columbia TCBY located is open until 9PM on weekdays. I pulled In the lot at 8:40PM on the dot and immediately noticed the one completely DARK store in the strip makl4 of course it was TCBY!!! ALL LIGHTS were turned off and the staff had [quite obviously] LONG GONE! . You have got to be kidding me. How completely UNPROFESSIONAL and IRRESPONSIBLE!!! It is no Wonder why the TCBY chain is struggling and store-after-store keeps permanently closing its doors with this level of unprofessionalism. If the store hours have changed and the store is no longer open till 9 PM then you need to be a responsible business owner and ensure you've changed the store hours online. I've just wasted my gas and my time and a mini road trip that was INTENDED to lifts my spirits at a difficult time only lowered my spirits and made me feel even more depressed. I recently joined Weight Watchers and learned that TCBY's No Sugar Added (NSA) frozen yogurt was only 2 points/ per half cup. All was right with the world again because I love ice cream and frozen yogurt. I drove to this location to purchase a quart of Butter Pecan NSA. When I arrived, I looked in their refrigerator and saw that they had it in stock. On Wednesdays they offer frozen yogurt with a waffle cone for $1.99. It's an excellent deal. Since I was there on a Wednesday, I ask for a cake cone with Salted Caramel NSA. I just wanted to try it just in case I'd like that for my next quart purchase. The cashier used his bare hands to grab my ice cream cone. I was really taken aback by this. I asked him to put on a glove; he shared that they did not have gloves. I explained that we eat the cones and its unsanitary to touch our food. He shared that they wash their hands or put on hand sanitizer. He then went to the sink to wash his hands and I said nevermind. I asked for the NSA Salted Caramel in a cup that way I was sure the edible parts are untouched. I thought it was weird that I had to have this conversation, particularly in the middle of a pandemic. I will NEVER go back to TCBY Snowden River! My grandson and I were there on Friday, April 5, 2024. We ordered a chocolate milkshake which we had never had before. It was watery and I don't know if it contained actual ice cream or not. Young lady who served us was friendly enough but I could tell she could care less about serving a good product. I noticed a sign explaining refund policy. Perhaps this establishment is under new ownership because I had never seen this sign before; there must have been several disputes that necessitated the need for this sign! I came here on a Sunday, but I saw a sign that read 99 cents waffle cones every Wednesday! I wonder if the sign is true?! If so, I will be visiting again on a Wednesday to get my nearly free ice cream in a waffle cone. I will most likely only go back on Wednesday for their deal. Without the deal, the ice cream is not that great... They source their ice cream from an outside vendor. They use jugs of pre made yogurt mixture that they pour into their yogurt machines. I feel like their yogurt is more sweet than it is tart. I personally like the tart frozen yogurt better. In addition, the toppings are so limited. New owners have ruined this place for us. Tried 3 times and will never go back. Customer service has gone downhill...doesn't feel welcoming when you come in...especially if there is one person there and they are at the counter scrolling on their phone...barely acknowledging you. The topping station was dirty and not filled with the topping choices labeled...i.e. crushed up waffle cone in the chocolate chip container. Didn't think crushed waffle cone was a topping choice. However, my first trip to TCBY didn't happen on a Wednesday, so I unfortunately spent $5 on one scoop of ice cream/froyo. Honestly, I don't think the ice cream/froyo is THAT good to spend that much, but for 99 cent it is totally worth it! Also the waffle cone is actually a waffle cone and not one of those cheap sugar cones, so definitely come on Wednesday! If you are unsure whether you want ice cream/froyo or soft serve, or what flavor to get then you can get a couple of samples. From the ice cream/froyo flavors, I like to get the mint chocolate, cookies and cream or cotton candy, and I like the graham cracker flavored soft serve. I was at the restaurant on Sunday May 28 2023. Chester was the guy working the counter. I ordered a medium milkshake and a second one for my daughter. He ended up giving me 1 milkshake and I medium soft serve. which was not what I ordered. the bill came to $12.27 I put in my credit card and what I thought was asking me to enter the total amount turned out to be the total tip amount. While I was expecting the charge on my card to be for $13.00 even turned out to be $25.27. I explained to Chester what had happened and he basically told me he could not fix it and I had to come back on Monday between 11-2 to speak with the manager. I have a day job and was not able to do that. Honestly I was floored that the store was left under the supervision which appeared to be a minor. I've tried to call the store several times and no one answers the phone. I was going to have my Credit Card company dispute the charge but i don't think it's worth the effort for $13. I guess I'm just mad that the guy gets a $13 tip for doing next to nothing. He didn't even greet me when I walked into the store. He also got my order wrong. I will never return and I encourage folks to look out for the credit card machine Tip trick. I normally tip all my servers more that 20% but never would I tip at 105% for such poor service. read more

Decided to check this place out on Mother's Day since they were giving away free 6 oz cups to mothers with no minimum purchase, and ended up finding a dairy free haven. With my daughter's second birthday party coming up, I ended up ordering one of their cakes, and I'm so glad I did. They said it was their first order for a dairy free ice cream cake, but it was AMAZING. It honestly tasted like something you could serve at a spring wedding. We went with the pink lemonade sorbet with white cake, and since we couldn't have the icing or whip cream since those have dairy, we opted for rainbow sprinkles, strawberries, and blueberries instead. They covered the entire cake with it, and it was beautiful! We were able to arrange to pick it up right before we were going to have cake at the party, since it was right down the road from us, and our freezer isn't big enough for it, and it was perfect. We recently discovered Waffle Cone Wednesday which is THE best dessert deal you can find in Columbia. 99 cents for any flavor (soft-served or scooped) plus you can have a topping too. This place is great as long as you do not need a special order froyo cake. I ordered a large "sheet cake" chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse froyo cake for my birthday. I placed the order 7 days prior to needing it. Upon picking up the item I found a medium round cake that they did not even have proper fitting lids for so they stuck a small lid on a medium cake base which destroyed the side icing of the cake when transporting home. I honestly should have never paid for it at that point. But to top off this mistake when I cut into the cake it was not even the right flavor froyo. I recently visited TCBY after having dinner with my husband. We placed our orders, which we had to repeat to the staff each three times. While making our orders, I went into the bathroom and toilet paper was not available in the women's room. When I told the girl working she said, "Oh yea, we ran out. I put napkins in there earlier." Then she turned and went back to work. That was it. I am appalled by this response. This is a health code violation and disgusting! Their yogurt can be good, but occasionally they are out of smoothie ingredients. The smoothies are the yogurt variety and are pretty good. Even all of the berry variants taste different enough to get some decent variety. I still prefer ice-based smoothies, though. read more

Its a fine fro-yo establishment - I just think this place is overpriced for what you are getting. Its 3.49 for the smallest cone - NO TOPPINGS. What bothers me at this place is that the girls who work there ask if you want toppings but don't tell you that its $1.00 extra - also it is not really written clearly on the signs that the toppings cost $1.00. Their toppings are put on top of the yogurt - don't stick - so at best I am paying $1.00 for 3 oreo crumbles.... totaling about $4.50. This is where the pay for the weight - self-serve froyo establishments are better : you can take as much as you want whatever toppings you want (not like at TCBY where you are given 99% froyo and 1% topping) - and your bill is usually much cheaper. read more

As much as I love ice cream, I appreciate customer service. I have been here a couple of times and the customer service is horrible. You aren't even acknowledged as a customer until the cashier finishes her text message. The second time I came there was two girls in the front and had to have been told to help the customers.
