I purchased a microblading session with a 4 week touch up through Groupon. On Groupon they listed the name of their shop as TBeyond Natural Beauty Salon, but it's actually called Advanced Training Microblading. My initial appointment went ok and I scheduled a 4 week f/u appointment. At my initial appointment someone else was there getting their eyelash extensions done and they were trying to get her to pay extra since Groupon discounted the service more without their "permission" and that was a bit unsettling. On the day I was supposed to get my touch up I had forgotten due to a car accident. As soon as I had remembered I reached out to them and asked to reschedule. Keep in mind I remembered 5 days later so not even a full week yet. They said that I can reschedule online and would need to put down a $50 deposit. I asked if the deposit was refundable since I paid in advance already. They said no and that I would have to pay again since I missed my appointment. And that the touch up was "free" if I did it within that 4 week window. I said as a courtesy they should do it for me anyways without having to pay because I had already paid and it has only been 5 days. I asked them for proof where it says the touch up is "free" in that 4 week timeframe although I paid extra for it on the Groupon and they couldn't do so. I kept asking for proof either in a contract or waiver I had signed and they were unable to do that as well. I asked for a partial refund since I had paid extra for the touch up and they told me to take my complaints and refund to Groupon. They also claimed to have called me about my appointment, but they never did. Very disappointed on how they handled this and very unprofessional. read more

This is a review for Trish! I always pass by Tbeyond on my way to Chuze Fitness and decide to try it out. I went online and booked an appointment for Trish the night before on their website. Trish called me the very next day to inform me that unfortunately the booking system online is not updated and the time I chose conflicted with another appointment she had. She asked if I could reschedule for another time. I wasn't sure about my schedule and told her I'll call her back. I called the salon again later that day after my workout ready to reschedule and a staff answered. After talking with her, she informed me that there was a short wait, but Trish will be able to service me right afterwards. When I came through the door, I was warmly greeted by the staffs and Trish. The salon was intimate and very well-kept, clean, and professional. When it was my turn, Trish took great care of my hair: took her time to wash my hair, asked me what I wanted for my hair, ran through with me what she recommends and how she will execute the hairstyle. As she was trimming my hair and layering it, she opened up about her family and children. By the end of the haircut, it felt like I've known her forever! After she blow dry my hair and styled it, she also gave me great tips on how to maintain the style. After I walked out of the salon, I never had this feeling before: being undercharged for a service and under-tipping a hair stylist. At that moment, I felt both. Overall, Trish has great work ethics. She feels accomplished when she knows she puts her best effort in servicing her client(s) and her client(s) comes back because they truly enjoyed the results. I was able to "try on" my new look before proceeding. in other words, Cathy eased my anxiety by mapping out my brows first. The procedure was relatively quick and painless due to a very effective numbing cream and Cathy's professional experience. Note: I was a bit concerned with my results at first (even though I was warned ahead of time) that my brows came out too dark. I was assured they would fade by 50% by the end of the week. First, I'd like to start by saying that Liz is amazing and that my review only applies to Cathy Tran, who not only is a crappy hair colorist, but the owner of this establishment. The only reason I came here is because the owner and Liz approached my friend and I outside of Chuze fitness with a promotion flyer. They mentioned the possibility of their salon being closed in four months if things didn't pick up, and that they were trying hard to get more clients. Cathy was super nice at first. She overheard my girlfriend and I saying we were hungry since we had just come from the gym and offered us cup noodles. I thought that was sweet. Anyway, I asked for a subtle balayage. I explained to her that I haven't done a thing to my hair in over a year due to a horrible highlighting experience last year. She assured me I was in good hands and that they do balayage here ALL the time. So I'm thinking, "ok, I'll be fine. I'm in great hands." She is the owner after all, she must surely know what she's doing. RiGht? WRONG! As my hair is lightening I notice it starting to look corn yellow. She explained that once the toner is applied the color will be the ash brown/blonde I was seeking. Ok. So we head over to the sink to wash n tone. Her first mistake was applying a dark ass toner to the top of my head. So when it dried, I looked like a head of ombré. Meaning, no highlights on top fading into the bottom. It was straight up ombré because she toned the top twice apparently. The bottom blonde was nice, but it wasn't what I wanted, I asked for balayage. She reluctantly agreed to redo the highlights. After shampooing, toning, and drying again, I notice the pretty blonde tips were now green and the top highlights were a cheap shade of orange. I began to cry. I wasn't trying to be a brat but come on! It's 3pm and I've been here since 10:20am!! I was obviously upset and all Cathy could say was "this is nice color, this is nice color!" Totally dismissing the fact that it looked like absolute poop. Clearly, homegirl was trippin'. My girlfriend, and Liz, the aforementioned awesome hairdresser, also agreed that it was a crap job. Liz was so professional and assuring. She was all about reaching a solution. She pretty much instructed Cathy, the owner, on how to rectify the issue. Unfortunately Liz had to go to school at the time, I would much rather have had her fix the mess Cathy made. So, I decide to trust Cathy one more time and allowed her to attempt to fix my ghetto head of highlights/ombré. Part of me was hopeful because Liz explained to Cathy exactly what needed to be done. How could she possibly mess this up? Was it done? No. She effed up once again. Orange bits were still visible up top and the blonde tips were just nasty. I began to cry again. As I walked over to my purse to grab my wallet ( I didn't want to leave without paying), Cathy starts telling me to leave and never come back. To which I respond "you're gonna go out of business". Low blow. I know. But I couldn't believe my ears. She could've been paid a pretty penny had she kept her snarky ass comments to herself and maybe be professional and offer me an additional service free of charge. Maybe. Maybe I would've considered coming back for some kind of intense conditioning treatment after the damage she did to my hair. God knows I need it now. Could I have been nicer? Yes. But I felt so disrespected. She messed up my hair multiple times, then tells me to leave because I'm upset and can't appreciate the fact that she tried to fix it? I'm sorry, Cathy Tran, but you need some serious training on owning and managing a client oriented business. Maybe Liz can give you some tips. She is pleasant, outgoing, knows her products, and understands how important the integrity of hair is. Bottom line: avoid this place unless you want to look like you got your hair done by a 16 year old who took a hair styling course in East LA once to earn enough credits to graduate high sh You have been warned. read more

I got my pre-Christmas hair cut done here in Tbeyond. I'm not from around this area, but for the price and quality haircut that I got at this place, to me was a bargain gem! I happen to be at this part of town for Christmas shopping and prior to my visit, I Yelp searched the closest salon to me. I made a phone call for a price quote for a men's haircut and I was told $10 (which I thought was a good price). Plus, they took me in right away. I met with Liz and her co-worker who were friendly and welcoming. When I got to the booth they offered me a small bottle water. I gave instructions how I wanted my cut: trim around the ears, maintain the length on the back and slimmed down then, taper around the edges. I never ask for anything fancy, I just like to make it simple and I felt confident my stylist Liz would deliver the trim I desired. During her work she made sure we got on the same page so, there is communication. What I liked most, she took her time to trim the bulky area of my hair and took time to line up and taper. When work was done, I was already more than pleased of my haircut and I wouldn't have to comeback too soon for another round of trims because everything blended well, was shorter and clean, that would get me through another month. This time I felt that I got a "real haircut ". Thanks to Liz. Also, I told her how my last two trims from other joints were mediocre and didn't cut properly so, she even fixed the those loose-ends with a breeze. They specialize in women haircuts as well. Highlights, color, perm, facials and eyebrow 3-D (whatever that is). This location is hidden because, this shop is not facing the Main Street. Its around the opposite side of CVS on a small strip. To date, Tbeyond has been in business about four months and they made a good impression. The salon is very clean and comfortable. Found the place on yelp and gave it a try. I got a haircut from Liz and she is pretty cool. She made sure I liked every step of the cut before she moved on to other parts which I like. I asked for a stylish cut so it was more difficult than an average male cut and it turned out really nice. It's $10 for a male haircut which I thought was super cheap for the cut she gave me. Update: I came back to the salon 9 months later with the intentions of Liz cutting my hair but when I walked in Trish greeted me and notified me that Liz no longer works at Tbeyond. I was in need of a haircut and Trish was able to help me by giving me long layers haircut. She was so sweet and honest which I was very grateful for. I came in with the idea that I wanted my layers to be "V shaped" but Trish recommended to round out the last layer due to having thin hair. She mentioned that by rounding out the layer it would allow my hair to look fuller. I really appreciated her honesty and I absolutely loved the outcome! My hair look super healthy, feels soft, and smells so good she used a leave in conditioner and it made a huge difference! I am very happy with my results and can't wait to return so Trish can dye my hair Thank you!! For the past month I've been driving by this salon as I head to the gym and today I decided to give it a try. A few months ago and loads of research later I finally decided to take a leap and get my eyebrows microbladed. I've never had any sort of cosmetic procedure done before so I was a little nervous, but the entire experience was great. The salon itself is clean and comfortable. Cathy is awesome and explained every step of the process, making sure I liked the outline and color of my brows before she started the actual microblading process. There was a little discomfort (she does apply some numbing cream before the procedure) but it is tolerable in my opinion. Cathy was very meticulous and took her time working on my brows, which I appreciate. The initial appointment was actually around two hours, but it seemed to fly by quickly because chatting with Cathy was like talking to a close friend! She also sends you home with some ointment and aftercare instructions when you're all done. I just got my initial touch-up done and am excited to see the final results.
