I'm writing to share my experience during my recent appointment for an NAD IV infusion. I was really looking forward to the treatment, so I was disappointed by how the visit ultimately went and wanted to bring it to your attention. When I first arrived for my appointment, the provider attempted to place the IV several times but was unable to access a vein. I believe I was poked about five times before I was asked to come back later and try again. I returned a few hours afterward, hoping the second attempt would be smoother. Unfortunately, the same difficulty occurred. The provider attempted multiple placements again -- in both arms, my foot, my ankle, and eventually my hand. I did mention beforehand that I have very small veins and that IV placement is often difficult for me. When I have IVs done at medical offices, they typically use a smaller "baby needle," which tends to work better for me. I did mention this, but that needle wasn't used. Eventually an IV was placed in my hand. However, while it was being taped down, the IV was jerked, which immediately made me feel like it may have shifted out of the vein. The provider reassured me that it was still properly placed and proceeded to start the infusion. Within about 5-10 minutes, my hand began burning intensely and swelling near my wrist. It also felt extremely cold to the touch. I mentioned this right away and was told that some burning can be normal with NAD. However, the pain and swelling continued to increase -- my fingers began swelling and my arm started to swell as well. At that point I was very concerned that the IV was not actually in the vein. I asked for the IV to be removed because the pain had become severe. Initially there was hesitation to stop the infusion, but I insisted because it hurt so badly. Unfortunately, I had to stop the treatment early and ended up wasting more than half of the IV bag. Because of the number of attempts, the swelling, and having to stop the infusion prematurely, the experience was really uncomfortable and discouraging -- especially since the treatment was quite expensive and something I had been looking forward to. I'm reaching out because I wanted to share what happened and see if there might be a way to resolve the situation. I've been getting botox for 25 years, and my sister is an RN injector at a high end plastic surgery center in Northern California. I do not like getting a "hard sale" when I explain that I have a conservative budget, and know my botox unit comfort level, considering my financial limitations as well. I know that I typically do well with 35 units max, in my upper face, and can afford that approximate cost on a periodic basis. Please don't tell me that I will be unhappy and back in a month with any less than 60 units in that region of my face. I know my face, my skin, I know my reaction to botox units, and I can go 3-4 months with very effective, minimal movement. I also had a gift certificate, and I believe that since that is "spent" money, they try to upset the customer to make new profit. I don't appreciate feeling pressured, nervous, and that I need to debate my needs. Also, I am used to getting a cold pack to numb the areas beforehand, and I had to ask for one, which she improvised quickly, but they had none prepared. I also want to see an injector open the vial and withdraw the botox. They have the chair pointed away from the prep table so you cannot see anything. I will not return. read more

I believe in room for improvement, so I'm basing this review just off my my experience and where I think the improvements can come from. Hannah was very friendly, which I appreciated. She kept a very peaceful environment. The concern I had is that my first appointment was about 2 hours and 45 minutes. I felt like the majority of the time was spent on my left side, and because it had taken a while, the right side was rushed. I feel like this resulted in the poor retention I had on my right side. I came back for a fill after less than 2 weeks. Apart from that, there were a few other issues. I booked for my fill and was given the rate of $80 while booking, but after the appointment, I was told it was $85. I also attempted to book with a different technician, but was informed that Hannah was the only one available. I feel like because of that, I wasn't welcomed to the establishment. The interactions at that point were short and far between. Once my fill was finished I was told "we're done here". I also think the aftercare should be more thorough. I was informed to just not get my lashes wet for 1-2 days, and avoid oil based products. I wasn't given any instructions on how to wash or maintain them, not after both my first appointment nor the fill. Now with today being about 1.5 days after my fill, I'm already experiencing multiple fall outs. I have not gotten my lashes wet, and I have avoided oil based products as instructed. I began visiting the Buena Park office for Botox treatments on my traps to help with pain relief. This was my first time trying Botox, and after hearing it could alleviate some discomfort, I decided to give it a shot since nothing else had worked for me. My injector at the Buena Park office was incredible--during my initial consultation, she took the time to really listen to my concerns and thoroughly explained everything I needed to know about the procedure. She walked me through how Botox works, the injection process, where it would be applied, and how many units I'd need on each side after assessing me. Her professionalism and knowledge made me feel completely comfortable moving forward with the treatment. After two sessions, I discovered that the company had another location in Newport, which was much closer to me. Assuming I would receive the same quality of care, I scheduled an appointment there. Unfortunately, my experience couldn't have been more different. My injector at this location, Somaly, was not welcoming at all. She dismissed my questions and concerns with a negative attitude and gave very short responses. One instance that stood out was when I asked about the needle size, as my previous injector had informed me that a longer needle was more effective for my specific situation. Somaly quickly brushed off my concerns, insisting that the needle size didn't matter. Although this contradicted what I had previously been told, I didn't feel confident enough to challenge her since I'm not a professional in this field. To make matters worse, she didn't even bother to examine me before starting the procedure. I returned for a second appointment with Somaly a few months later--much sooner than expected, as the effects of my previous treatment wore off quickly. I explained that I was experiencing more pain on my right side, yet she injected more units into my left side instead. Afterward, she suggested adding more to the right side to "even it out," which felt careless and unprofessional. It made me question whether she had even reviewed my chart beforehand. The entire experience left me feeling like I was being taken advantage of financially rather than receiving genuine care. I would never recommend this office, nor will I return--no matter how convenient the location may be. I'd much rather drive 25 minutes to an injector who demonstrates professionalism, listens to their patients, and genuinely cares about providing effective treatment, rather than someone who seems focused on making extra money through shortcuts and poor service. read more

Scam artists!!! Beware!!! Don't give receipts or after care recommendations. Botox can only be done by doctor or NP. They are claiming NP is doing it, but can't produce a license for this so called nurse. She went up another room to get a vial, never showed a vial to me and made sure to fill the syringe behind my back so I don't see what's in it. Did a very poor job with shots leaving bad marks. My face appearance doesn't show any sign of Botox so far; leave me questioning if I ever was injected with it . read more

Someone answered me and when I told about coupon, the girl sighed very heavily. I asked, if this the problem that I want to come with a coupon? She told me not to buy a coupon, I can take a screenshot and pay on the spot. On the spot she said that I would have to make an extra payment, and I didn't find clear explanation from her, or website, and in the end she did not give me a full discount, she said that I would have received this if I had bought a coupon. As soon as I walked in I should have left. The place smelled like dirty wet dog. I couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from until the technician took me in the back and I could see her microwaving Asian food. The strong odor was making me nauseous mixed in with the chemicals that they were using with their services. I felt it was so unsanitary and I'm so upset I didn't get up from the bed and leave right then. I've had this service done in the past, else where and have never had any issues. I was in complete shock and so upset when I noticed my lashes were triple curled and tangled together, while in other areas of my lid -some of my lashes were missing . I called twice to discuss how upset I was with my service. They never offered to try to fix or reimburse me. I told them they should reimburse me for the service and I never heard back . First time the nurse got extremely ill again (so funny see other one star reviews, how ironic), and my appointment was cancelled LESS THAN ONE HOUR before my appointment!!! ( the owner is denying that this happened but I have screenshots). Second time the front desk lady rudely approaches me and tells me new surprising prices. Please explain how was I "hostile"? Don't bother. Was looking for a new spot because I moved so I purchased on Groupon a special for volume set. I asked lady on the phone if that would be ok to get hybrid (so change some out with a smaller length and not as thick as volume) she said no problem. AVOID THIS EYE CANDY NEWPORT BEACH with its now new owners. This review is my opinion and my true experience with the Newport Beach Medspa on Westcliff. I am saddened to have to write this because it used to be a safe and reputable place but what a difference in the worst way the new ownership has ruined this place. I see there is a trend with yelp reviews over the last few months and now I see why. I am a medical professional for over 40 years and my partner and I have received my aesthetics from this NB office for almost 2 years with a specific NP for patient continuity of care. That said, recently, I bought Botox units when they were on sale to be used by the provider I see and when I went to use the units I was told that my provider I bought the units with "is no longer with us". I was naturally concerned so I reached out and found that this NB Eye Candy location has new owners and now is REFUSING to provide a refund for my units I bought because of their inability to hold on to employees that provide continuity of care. The new ownership is demanding me to see their new replacement so they can keep my money. This is not acceptable in business nor is it appropriate patient care. Yes, all medical providers can offer to have patients change providers but if a patient (me in this instance) is uncomfortable with that, by no fault of my own the patient should not be penalized and should immediately be refunded since no advance notice was provided... it should be full refund no questions asked in this case. I am not sure if a physician's license is used to be the Medical Director of this place or if it is just going rouge but EYE CANDY OF NB is clearly NOT INTERESTED IN PATIENT CONTINUITY OF CARE...My experience I have noticed is the new owners interest is only about keeping my MONEY. I would not recommend coming here for any injectables. The vibe of this place felt like one of those hair salon located in Westminster. Not welcoming at all. My nurse Somaly did my botox & already from entering she had poor bedside manners. As she started to inject, she didn't walk me through the procedure, no concerns of checking if i was doing okay or anything.. We had to stop half way through because she was so rough jabbing me in the forehead. I told her "could you give me a second, it's pretty painful." Her reply was "botox is painful." I LOVE nurse Somaly! It's came to her for Kybella and lip filler. I love the results I received with Somaly's care and expertise! I have a dry spot on the right side of my upper lip. I have had fillers done before and no one was ever able to fill that spot. My lip would be full but that spot would just have a very deep line and it would make my lip appear uneven. After one appointment with nurse Somaly, I couldn't stop staring at my lips because it became even and luscious! She was gentle and took her time injecting. I really tried to give this place a try (I planed to get multiple things done and be a regular customer after) and I followed all of their rules and deposit requirements: I made an appointment 4 weeks ahead; cancelled all of my fitness sessions with my clients for 2 days in a row as I was told to not exercise for 48 hours after my procedure, but they still canceled my appointments I made 4 weeks several hours before my appointment time on the SAME DAY after I made all of efforts and spent all of their time to have the appointment. First of all, they wanted you to give them deposit on Venmo (to avoid paying taxes), but they don't give you enough info to make the deposit (the Venmo account name can NOT be read or scanned when they provided that to me the first time in a text pic), also they didn't mention a deposit is required when I made the appointment. (It's ok to ask for deposit, just thought it will be more professional if it's mentioned at the time when a client is making the appointment.) Then, I was threatened that they would cancel my appointment and put me on waitlist because I didn't pay the non-refundable deposit. Again, the Venmo account name wasn't provided clearly at the first place, so I asked them to confirm the account before sending the deposit, they replied me the next day morning on a Saturday, I was busy all day and planned to do in the late afternoon, but when I woke up after my Saturday nap, I got a text from them saying my appointment is canceled and I am on a wait list. So, I called them right way after I saw that threatening text to solve this, I explained I was busy whole day. If I can wait them since Friday afternoon to reply me, they should be able to wait me for several hours on the same day to take care of things they asked me to do too. Anyway, I paid the deposit right there and was able to keep my appointment, phew! I also explained it's VERY IMPORTANT for me TO KEEP the same appointment time as I cancelled many of my own business appointments to take this appointment. It's not easy for me to schedule a new time as it will mean I have to cancel more business sessions for it. (I am a Fitness trainer/Instructor), they said "I understand". But, on my appointment day, today, several hours before my appointment time, guess what? They told me they HAVE TO MOVE MY APPOINTMENT because their lady who I am going to have appointments with CAN'T COME TO WORK. ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? After all of the annoying things they put me through and all the effort I made and time I spent on to just have an appointment? All of these really shows how untrained, unorganized, unprofessional this business and their staff is. Anyone who don't like to waste time and energy should look for somewhere else. read more
