One of the only places where one can go for indoor go-kart racing around town. Parking is available in the lot in front. The inside is nice and clean, but quite dated, with the old school coin-op arcade machines. Staff are somewhat helpful, but you have to approach them if you need something. Otherwise they're just hiding behind the computers. The karts they have now (2014) are noticeably faster than those several years ago. According to the instruction video, these things top out at 70 km/h. Add the smooth concrete track, and it's actually quite easy to spin out. How much faster? I actually got carsick driving these things. Did not know this was possible when one is the operator of the vehicle. To save $2, bring your own DOT-approved helmet. Even though they give you a liner, their helmets are freaking DISGUSTING. You can smell them as you enter the helmet room. A good lap time here would be 29s or less. For a beginner or amateur, you'd be looking at 31s or so. There are some regulars here who eat the newbies for breakfast. You'll notice who they are when you start getting lapped. Races are a bit pricey at $35 for 4 heats (10 laps), but this is more than enough to get your karting fix. read more

Came here with a large group so we had reservations. They tell you to arrive about 30 minutes earlier to fill out the waivers and watch the instructional video for the track lights, flags, etc. There is parking in front of the place but it does get filled up so you'll park on the street. The place is in an industrial area so there isn't much around. The place is a warehouse so it's big but does feel dated. They have some old arcade games, some candy machines, etc. The service is okay, they tend to stay behind the counter, unless to shuffle you into the small room to watch the video. The other staff on the track is ok. They use gas karts so after awhile, I started to get a headache from the fumes, even though they do have fans to try to circulate the air and remove the carbon monoxide. The races are about 6 minutes so it feels really short. We got 2 races so we were able to race for 12 minutes straight. The karts do pick up speed and it's easy to spin out. the brakes are good on the karts. They warn you not to bump other carts and if it looks like it was intentional or if they feel that you could have avoided the hit, they may stop you. I did see a race where someone could have stopped but instead, they kept going and pretty much t-boned someone else to get to the inside of a corner. That person was removed right away. The only place to drive real, gas-powered go-karts in Richmond. It is a bit pricey given how much you pay for the short amount of time you actually spend racing. They used to have discounts on Tuesday, but according to their website they've done away with that. The introductory video is cheesy but mildly entertaining the first time you go. For insurance reasons it's mandatory for all guests to view it every visit, even if they've seen it before. If you race regularly it can get old pretty quick. Although they emphasize that anyone who makes intentional contact with another kart will be removed from the race, there's almost always that one idiot who hits your kart anyway. I've never actually seen anyone get kicked out, so I'm not sure if the attendant simply didn't notice, or if they saw but determined it was accidental. They use an electronic scoring system to track your lap times and placing, and you get a printout at the end which makes for a cool souvenir. If you go with your friends often you can file the scorecards away and look back at your progress from the past. read more

This place is fun. But it would be more fun if they change the track. You can have 12 people race at one together. If you come alone or not in a group then there is no guarantee that you would get to race. I like how they print the score sheet at the end. I did find after the race my throat is a bit dry. Probably because of the fume and smoke from the go kart. I was told that those go kart can go up to 70km per hr. Hint when you turn use both the gas and break together. It was our first time and it was fun but the service was just okay. We did 2 six-minute races so it came to $100 for both of us. No kid discount. The group before us took a while to sign all the waivers, whereas we did it all at home but still had to wait for them to finish which was about 20 minutes. The staff are young and although there are 3 of them behind the counter, and there's multiple computers, it wasn't very efficient. We looked on the site and saw the minimum height and age limit, but another group didn't and they didn't realize this until after paying, filling out the waivers, and saw the height measurement thing on the wall. So one kid couldn't race because she didn't meet the height requirement, and they had all go back for a refund. This all could have been avoided and 3 groups could have saved 30 minutes of time waiting if the staff at the front desk saw there was a child, and told them to measure their height BEFORE paying and doing their waivers. Or have one staff member help others while another took another group. The video is informative and funny. They give you a disposable balaclava to wear under the helmet for hygiene I suppose, but then he just does a quick spray and asks us to put the helmets back. So as a result, there's a bunch of used balaclavas and helmets in the observation deck area that people just dumped. The race was fun. The pit guy who sets you up was on his phone texting before, during, and after the race. So he isn't really watching that closely for safety or for people who need help. Maybe it was from front desk about the people racing? At the end we didn't get a printout or anything. So it was fun, but pricey and the customer service could use a brush up. read more

Pretty fun place but consider they use real gas and it's indoor it smell bad and probably not the healthiest to stay for a super long period of time. Have to be at least 11 (better bring an ID because apparently some kids lie about their age). If you are under 18 and don't have a guardian/parent with you, you need a driver license. Otherwise, a guardian/parent's signature is fine. $22 for kids and student with ID, each person (non student) can go with a student that have an ID and pay $22. Otherwise, adults pay $37. (For 2 rounds) Recommended to arrive 30-45mins prior to watch the video, fill the form, and wear a helmet. The suit is optional and parking lot outside. read more

This is probably the best Go Kart track around, with well tuned karts and friendly staff. The pricing is extremely decent and they outfit you with nice disposable masks. Racing here is pretty intense as the enclosed area just makes things wiz by much faster and the slick floor make for some impressive power sliding. This is a great place to bring a group of friends for a party or a company for team building / bonding. read more

They have different ways to track racing and it allows those with the competitive nature to compete with each other while those not as competitive can be together . Enjoyed my time there and had to write a review to compliment them on the disposable masks offered for us to wear under the helmet. They also offer a full jacket and body suit but I didn't wear it. I had fun on the tracks. May be a little intense for the beginners at first but it's definitely not initimating and it's a good track to practice the turns. I like how this place is clean, safe and reasonably priced. The place practices good safety and shows you a 5 minute video before your turn. Recommended for a group of friends. I just went to TBC last weekend for some racing fun with friends and I thought everything was fine. The racing itself was awesome fun and we all enjoyed ourselves. It's all over much too quickly, so I think I'll make sure to stay for an extra race next time. The staff are a little indifferent towards customers, but I guess they've been inundated with so many Groupon customers that they've become somewhat robotic. I am not expecting five-star service, but a smile would be nice. The place is a little expensive, but if you manage to get a Groupon or two, it's much more affordable. Yeah the customer service is weak, but this facility still gives you the best feeling of old time go-karting in the Lower Mainland. Gas karts (Sodi RT8) give a great feeling of speed. Torque is a bit weak, so if you're heavy, try not to slide while braking into turns. They'll claim that your weight has nothing to do with your lap times, but I'll disagree. There's no way that these karts would be equal for someone who's 120lbs vs 200lbs. A good lap time time around here would be just over 30 sec. I've managed under that a few times, but only after a few laps to warm up the tires and get the braking points. The best racers can get into the 28s. The pricing is ok. About $15/race. Each race will feel too short, so buy 3 at a time and get a freebie, or try Super Sprint on Tuesday, or Enduro racing on Thursday for more extended track time. The track has a good tricky layout, a bit narrow in some places. It's difficult to pass, but can be done in two or three places. A quick track summary: The start/finish is on a left-hand curve after a short straight alongside the pits. A quick right-left kink takes you to the first braking zone. Be careful through the fast section here if you're alongside someone. It can be a hard hit into the first right-side barrier, or following left-side wall. After this, a hard braking zone into a left-hand hairpin. If you're out on your own, take this entry wide and keep a tight exit to line up the next right hand curve. Otherwise, if someone is on your heels, the only way to save your place is to take this one tight and jeopardize the exit. It's slippery on the outside. If you get a nice tight exit with good traction, you can floor the right hand curve into the next braking left-hand hairpin. This one has a wide exit, but it will be slippery on the outside. Next comes the difficult series of turns. A really tight right-right dog-leg hairpin, immediately followed by a left hand exit. A lot of people get locked up in this section by overcooking the previous turn, or by trying an ill-fated pass. If you exit this section well, you'll get a good feeling of speed along the long back straight, and flat-out left into another shorter straight. This section is wide, but watch out for anyone trying to pass you here on the inside. Only one of you can safely take this corner at speed. A heavy braking zone follows into a left hairpin. It's very easy to slide here, so pick your braking point wisely, and brake in a straight line. You'll see a lot of spins and tangles here. Get around this corner nicely, and go wide to take the next right-hand hairpin into the final straight, and hug the inside across the finish line. read more

ZERO SAFETY!!! I met with an accident here. Day before yesterday. Where I crashed into the barricade and i went under barricade which is unexpected as I never have seen barricades are unsafe like this in a karting place!!!! The barricade was on top of me!!!!! I screamed and screamed my husband came running and an employee came to see me. He lifted the barricade and drop again on my chest because it was sooo heavy. Me and my husband lifted it because it was like a stone on my chest! My arms and chest is damaged. I was taken to surrey emergency as the waiting time was too long i was dehydrated and got sick and went home. Next day went to richmond emergency and stayed for 7 hours to take X rays and for other checking! Highly disappointed about the service. They didn't even have a tylenol??? They gave a small ice pack and a plaster! I'm unable to attend office and seated at home in pain!!!! My whole body is sore and bruises everywhere!!!!! By god's grace that didn't cut my neck because all the cuts are near my shoulders and chest! I will report them to authorities when I'm fully cured! I had a group reservation for 20 or so people for a private event for my boyfriends birthday. Customer service was on point on the phone as I had a pleasure of talking with Greg who helped me book my event. Booking the place can be pretty expensive but Greg managed to give me 100$ off and I really appreciate that! When we arrived the front desk girl was less then welcoming but that didnt bother me too much. I originally had 20 people booked but only 17 showed up. Thankfully, the front desk girl was willing to help me work out the math on what everyone should pay. There was a little bit of a mix up with pricing on my end and we thought we over payed but they were kind enough to work things out and do a break down! Another male staff member gladly worked out the rest of our concerns with the utmost professionalism. Over all our track time was 1 hour with two groups having 2 races each. For our group our track time was great and we all really enjoyed the fun course. It can get pretty intense on the track, I myself almost hit one of the attendants and felt pretty horrible but he did not ding me for it or take me off the track! We felt that our time on the track was cut off a bit short ( start time was 6:45 but we didnt get on until 7:00 and end time was 7:50. Honestly, there should be a bit more organization/direction as well as communication between customers and the staff. But we are all adults here so I can see how the staff make things work at this establishment. Basically my thoughts was that they were not experienced enough and were not prepared for something like this to happen. Maybe its up to me to figure that out but its their job to help customers figure these types of things out. This was my only complaint regarding our time at TBC. As someone who already payed a-lot of money and willingly put a down payment. I would expect you to have some more organization and a basic set of skills for hospitality especially for a paying customer! Otherwise thats all for my review ! Quite accommodating for our group, even though we showed up -very- late for our reservation, and with a considerable less amount of ppl than we said would showed up. No extra fees charged, just paid for the exact amount of people participating. A quick safety video before being outfitted with helmet and you're ready to race! Liners are provided with helmets to keep things sanitary Course has tons of curves for you to expertly fishtail around and multiple straight away areas where you can pass your friends so you are #1 of the pack . Management was unacceptable. After a racing incident happened he banned my friend for no reason. The worker on the track was extremely disrespectful and didn't give a fair reason to ban us. After our first time out here he swore at us and wasn't fair. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone the serious wasn't very good. The whole staff wasn't very friendly to any of us even when talking respectfully. They talked extremely stern and painted them as the victim. WHAT?? race #1 is done?? I was stuck behind this clown the whole damn time!!!! can i at least start race #2 in front of him?? I really dont want to put him in the wall. Nope... cant. Race #2 starts... some new people join in this race... all of us are stuck behind this one slow guy.. the track doesnt has so many zigzags and narrow lanes, its damn near impossible to pass without putting someone in the wall... so race #2 was 4 people stuck behind the 1 slow guy... still no blue flag was EVER waved. Race #3... same thing... 4 ppl stuck behind the slow guy... all 4 ppl are pissed off now. This place is a god damn joke.. i just bought 3 races, just to go slow behind someone. I talked to this 16yr old employee... he said i should have bumped the slow guy off... then thats where i told him, that could hurt the other guy and also that their rules said not to do that.... but the kid says "well, thats part of racing". FUCK THIS PLACE. Ive gone gokarting a lot all over the US... this is the worst place ive ever been because they hire kids to work here... and they're too busy text messaging their friends... We came here over the weekend with a group of 6 with reservations. They are really strict on arriving 30 mins beforehand to fill out waivers and to watch the orientation video. We were 5 mins late and missed our 3pm reservation, so they slotted us in for the 3:30pm time. It worked out even better because our group of 6 were the only ones in that group! Be sure to make reservations! We saw groups get turned away because of no reservations. We came here with a Groupon ($10/race, limit 1 voucher per visit). Great deal! Helmet rentals are mandatory and available for $2 and includes a hair net. The cars are super fast and the track is really fun with 2 sharp u-turns at each end to test out your Tokyo drift ;) You must be a min. 11 years old and 4'8" (142 cm) tall to race. :) read more

There are 3 tracks in Richmond. This one, the indoor electric one, and the outdoor track I am a regular at this track, simply for the fact that they breed a culture of racing. The other tracks are more where you would go on a blind date. But if you want to go with your friends and put some money on the line, you need to come here. It's a good track, karts never top out in speed, and you get going pretty quickly. If you are a racing fan, this place is the best track in Richmond to go to read more

The customer service here is a complete joke. I've been coming here for years and over the last year it's become increasingly worse. They clearly do not care whether their customers are happy & seem terrified of being reprimanded by their manager. Today was the last straw for us. We were put on with 4 racers who took out the track 5 times in one lap. Every few seconds another one of them got stuck and we all had to slow down. We never had a chance to actually race & they decided to run our two races back to back without informing us when the first ended so we did not have a chance to pull ourselves off the track to race with a different group. When we complained after the race the track guy agreed that it was an obscenely slow race, he said he pulled people out 5 times in 1 minute. 2 of them maxed out 3 laps in 8 minutes, the other 2 only made 5 laps. So while the staff agreed it was bad, they refused to let us race again without paying full price because "my manager wouldn't understand. There's nothing I can do." So, we are done with TBC. Customer service puts the nail in the coffin for us. Normally it's rude staff that turns us off, today it was complacent staff. read more

Been here more than a handful of times and as fun as go-karting can be, the overall experience at this location has been underwhelming. I've bought a few Groupon deals for this location and EVERY time I call to book a race, it takes at LEAST 5 calls until an employee picks up. It's almost like they take your money, hope you give up after X number of calls, have your deal expire, and have your deal turn into store credit. If it's not that, then the owner is super cheap and refuses to hire additional employees to deal with the demand. Either or, it's some shady business how I see it. The location is pretty sketchy as well, highly recommended you look it up before you drive there. Once you get there, you're usually greeted by unpleasant employees who look like they don't want to be there (can't be blame them). They're pretty much like robots going through the motions of the day. Watch the tutorial, get your helmet (and optional suit) on and head towards the race track where a race marshal will give you some final instructions. The race itself is the ONLY good part about the experience, but it goes by way too quickly so you're probably going to feel ripped off. Either or, with the limited amount of choices for indoor go-karting in Greater Vancouver, you're most likely stuck with TBC Indoor Racing. If you're not dying to go-kart, you can better spend your time and money on other activities around town. read more

Sure, go-carting is fun. I went in with a group of people from work for a few lanes, as we haven't tried this place out before. It was fairly empty, which was good. The girl behind the front desk was not very nice to us once we found out we worked at a competing business. She was also huffy that she had submitted me a resume but didn't get an interview (surprised?) The safety video was long and drawn out. I don't think we listened. The track was good, but a lot of corners makes it hard sometimes, especially when your racing against aggressive people. I came around the sharp needle corner and skidded out, and ended up against the tire with my side facing oncoming racers. My buddy didn't see me and smashed right into my ribs, thus bruising them and making it difficult to breathe. Thankfully an x-ray showed I didn't break any ribs. When I was hit and completely unable to move due to the lack of a reverse on the cart, the employee was nowhere to be found. After writhing in pain, and my friend getting out of the car to help me out, the employee ran over to move my cart from the tires so I could continue on. We finished our races and got the hell out of there. Pricey for not a lot of time, and my lungs burned from the exhaust fumes. And this is the funny part - because I'm a smoker. Would we go back? Sure, probably give it another shot. But we'll take it at face value, and probably would rather go somewhere else. read more

Who didn't play Mario Kart as a kid? Make your Nintendo dreams a reality at TBC. Most of the stag party I went with have never been go carting, including myself. For $45 you get 3 races lasting about 45 minutes. Start by signing a waiver form then watch a safety video. Grab a helmet and race suit (I didn't as you'd probably sweat though your clothes won't stink as much from the exhaust). Referee will help you get comfortable in your cart, go over some safety things again and off you go. These carts pack serious Mario power (up to 75km/hr). Unfortunately there's no banana peel button. Only skill around each turn will get you past your rivals. The adrenaline rush was solid the whole time. The only slight negative is the effect of all the exhaust indoors. After race one I started to feel it in my head. Yoshi approved. read more

Went here for a group company outing, they had reserved the track just for us which was fun, and recommended. Get there earlier than you would think as there is a waiver to sign, a safety video to watch and you have to get geared up (helmet, racing suit if you wish). The helmets, suits and track have seen better days. The racing itself was great, a lot of fun, especially in a group where you know everyone. A few of us did get nauseous, and although we were going fast along the trrack our group felt it was from the cart exhaust. It is a large warehouse and they have opened a few doors and have a few fans but the air quality in there is pretty poor. One suggestion for them would be to display the standings/results so the drivers can see them inside of getting a print out later on (or in addition to). Overall, I do recommend it if you've never been before and like to drive fast and feel like a mini race car driver. read more

My situation I was on a date with my boyfriend, and I booked reservations a few hours before, the day of. The booking process was easy, but it could be a concern that the reservation requires you to process your payment over the phone, and it is non-refundable. Ambience The racetrack was located in a hidden corner somewhere in the farmlands of Richmond. Perhaps it seemed like that as it was super dark at 7 pm. It had a very masculine, bad-ass, garage-like ambience, definitely geared towards a guys' night out, or girls ready to vamp it up. Service The service was efficient, and straight to the point. They weren't extra friendly, but it was decent. More friendliness over the phone would have been appreciated. Overall Experience The experience was a bit expensive, even for their Sunday night special ($12 per 6-8 minutes of racing; otherwise $20). The race track was a bit tricky, and the go karts were fast yet it was a bit difficult to make smooth turns without drifting and hitting the other racers. Remember, you race with your own time and not particularly with other racers. I didn't know that so I was going as fast as I could, and had a few warnings! TBC shows you a five-minute video on safety and instructions, and I like how they put some personality in the video (it corny but bearable). Time went by quickly, and we were out in 30 minutes even with two races. I would've liked a cheaper rate as $50 could be gone before you hit the brakes! I would go more often if it was cheaper. It was a lot of adrenaline rush,so it was definitely a lot of fun! Perfect for dates and even a GNO. Yes, I recommend it :) read more

I've been several times now and it's a solid track with fast karts. I'll definitely be back. My last visit, we had two races and it was just enough. By that point you get a good feel for the track and the kart and can adjust accordingly. Customer service is just ok. Customer Service was definitely lacking and the video tutorial was pretty tacky, but once on the track it got promisingly better. The place could use some TLC, but then again its a race track... Races last about 6 minutes each and we had a total of 4 that day. The guys did a good job of conducting everything and being straightforward with instructions. No complaints. I only wish I had the same energy/feel good mood leaving the track as I did when starting. Once I took off my helmet, the nausea set in for a while due to speed and everything else and that overall affected my review (just a little?). I promise to come back though. read more

Now that tsawwassen closed, this is my favourite go karting track in the Vancouver area. The course is pretty fun and the karts are fast enough. It's a mostly fun experience. I can't give them 4-stars because their customer service is pretty awful. They never pick up their phone.. ever. They might call back 2 days later if you're lucky. I know they're busy, but most businesses figure this out somehow.. I'm not sure how this basic element of customer service eludes them. The hilarious thing is they say on their automated message that it's important to book in advance. How can I book in advance if you won't pick up?? I'd bump my score to 4-stars in a heartbeat if they fixed this. Other weird thing is they made a really odd modification to the track. Before the 90deg left turn which precedes the two hairpins, they made the track incredibly narrow so there's only one lane. I'm assuming they did this to slow down the following 90deg, perhaps for safety, but it's a really obnoxious way of dealing with it. That narrow ends up being a constant jam between karts. read more

It's alright... Go karting is always a whole lot of fun and this place have pretty fast go karts. The track is pretty boring though; and gets repetitive quickly. But it is nontheless very enjoyable. The waiting area have different arcade games and a pool table and darts area which is okay. Free parking are in plenty there so that's a bonus; no need to stress out about that. Now the downer: the staff... It looks like no one really likes to be there, I didn't have too much of a problem myself but I could see the receptionist being so rude to other people. I actually felt bad for them; they were just a large group trying to organize themselves with the sign-in forms so a little delay in getting that organized was to be expected but the receptionist would have none of it and had zero patience. All in all, a good experience but it could be better. read more

I sure do love coming to TBC Indoor Racing with my husband from time to time and I think it is due to the fact that this Go-Kart track has been here for many years. I raced 2 times with my husband and he did 6 races. So i had to wait for 4 races...it took some time. I did however enjoy my time as usual but, I began to experience minor nausea due to the exhaust build up in the warehouse. If was very uncomfortable to be inside however it was poor rain outside and there was no undercover roof to allow client to take a breather in the rain. I am going to try another track next time we go (Speeders looks like good competition) and I have to give another review in comparison to this track once I do go. Tbc brings Mario cart to life!! When you walk in you'll be asked to fill out the waver form then watch the instructional video that tells you all the basics. After the video is over you get a helmet and then the fun begins. The cars are very fast (up to 70km/h) and there very easy to control. If you ever get the chance to visit tbc in Richmond, I highly recommend it. read more

This was the worst experience of my life people were flipping me off calling me the N-word and I'm white kept crashing into me and it's against the rules wouldn't kick them out my engine fell out twice and they added that to my time so I had around two minutes of actual driving and I paid for 30 do not recommend it was awful read more

First time ever karting and it was so much fun. Only thing I could've done without were the jerks not in our party that kept ramming into me. I have some pretty whiplash today. Super fun! read more
