Granted, it was Labor Day, but not one of them answered the phone. Only two eventually called me back. Fontana Brothers? They answered on the first ring and told me they could have someone out within about 90 minutes. Our technician, Fredy, called about 20 minutes before arriving and immediately got to work. He quickly diagnosed a failed capacitor and an issue at the contactor/electrical connection, and replaced what was needed. He also recommended surge protection for both the outdoor condenser and indoor air handler, which seemed especially sensible after the electrical event that started all of this. But he didn't just fix the immediate problem and leave. He inspected the air handler, discovered a significant air leak where it connects to the ductwork, and found the blower wheel caked with buildup. He took care of those issues as well. He also checked the refrigerant charge and explained that the system appeared to have been left at the factory line-set charge, which only accounts for a relatively short refrigerant line. Ours runs roughly 45 feet between the condenser and air handler, so additional refrigerant was needed. Fredy showed me the regular repair pricing versus their maintenance-club pricing rather than just trying to sell me something, and with a seven-year-old system that clearly hadn't received enough attention, joining made perfect sense. What really stood out, though, was how he treated our home and family. He stopped to pet our cats, patiently answered our kids' questions, and treated everything with care. He used our garden hose while cleaning the blower and actually wound it up neater than we normally do. From answering the phone on a holiday to getting our AC running properly and finding several problems that could have continued costing us efficiency and reliability, the entire experience was exceptional. I am requiring about about a good faith $200 deposit I made on June 5th for what I was told was needed to reschedule a repair. Well, another service person came on June 23rd to fix the issue. But, the new repairman stated no work was necessary, it was an error. I appreciate the honesty. He said it was up to his supervisor to put in refund. Now, I would like my $200 deposit back. I don't understand why I am not being contacted or refunded about this issue.

They came out quickly but then the guy said he didn't clean the drain cause he knew by the air pressure that the coil was bad. Gave us a quote for the coil of nearly $4K and said we might wanna consider a new unit, given the age of our unit. That estimate was $9K. We had another company come out and they cleaned the drain, said the coil was fine and that was it! Glad I followed my instincts! Beware and get a second opinion before succumbing to this companies tricks.

The previous install had the ductwork leaning on the ceiling, an improperly constructed return vent... RDK installed everything from scratch and the difference in how the system operates is so much more efficient (lower electric bills) with both the outside and inside units hardly making any noise. Last month was our first maintenance and again I was very impressed. I believe his name was Harris and he did more than anyone has ever done on AC maintenance in any of my homes. He washed the coils on the outside unit by removing the top, he sucked out the drain line, measured the temperature of the air pushed out from the air handler and more. With extreme heat and the toll it takes on your AC, do yourself a favor and invest in a company that takes good care of your equipment.

They were careful and did my repair for a fair price. Stay away from the big boys that offer $20 or $30 checkups. Before you know it you are getting the hard sell to replace your unit for a $3000 profit or pay $300 to replace a $10 capacitor. Finally, make sure you get a quote from Juan for HVAC replacement if your unit is shot. I bet you save well over $1000.

The Tech that came out did do some work for me did a good job. Very polite and not pushy. Were the Pic's he should me my AC-Unit??? Now I am not sure. I asked if they could use my parts another company removed which were my UV-Lites. I was told possible but would get back to me with a price. Maybe like $300-$400 / not cheap. I never hear back from the Tech. They do charge $75 just to come out and $120 an Hour for any work. Was told these are competitive prices. If they could not use my old connections, then call and give me a Price of what you would install. Instead they just ignored me and I'm letting others know how you might be treated by Mercury Air.

Their "behind -the-scenes" admin, "JoJo" was very responsive and replied to my text inquiries in a timely manner, typically within minutes. "Max" was the assigned "technician of the day" and he arrived in a timely manner. Prior to his arrival, Cool Wizard texted me that Max was on his way, and texted me a picture so I knew who he was! Max checked out the system and reported that the system was basically OK, but suggested a couple non-critical items that I might wish to address in the future, and backed up his suggestions with photos. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new unit, or attempt to scare me with a "gloom -and-doom" outlook. The old "Holiday Inn" commercial said "The best surprise is NO surprise", and there were NO surprises because the bill was $95, which was exactly what I'd been quoted in advance. I'm glad that my A/C appears to be OK now, but when I do need a new one, I'm calling "Cool Wizard"
