I was referred to Badu Tax Services by another Tax accountant, the initial meeting seemed promising…read moreand some of the employees were very helpful, but when it came to actually getting taxes completed my tax preparation was rushed. Here is why I know that: the email responses I was receiving were usually a 5-7 day late during tax season, they were overwhelmed by the number of customers, my taxes were higher than what I was able to obtain though another CPA. In addition, I requested to be removed from their mailing list back in November 2024 and still receive emails about follow ups and promotions despite me being a customer. This just reminds me about the company that took $2,000 for services that didn't offer the value I paid for.

I knew I needed help with my taxes this year. I'd moved, I'd had a regular job, but also a contract…read morejob - basically, I had no idea what I was doing when it came time to file. I'd researched some places on Yelp and called several "real" accountant firms, including the one that says they'll give you a free consultation, but they couldn't help me file my return on time ...or in one case, even bother return my call. They said they'd help me file an extension, but it was MARCH, yes, kind of late in the game, but early March and I still had over a month before taxes were due. I'd held off on calling Ameritax because I'd used places like H&R Block before and they were crazy expensive and you got charged for filing federal and then for state and then for filling in the interest you paid on your student loans and I didn't want to get gouged at a chain again. Finally I called just because I knew I needed help and they did have a good review, so I was hopeful that it would work out. Kevin did return my call and in a timely manner and we scheduled an appointment. They're even open on Saturdays, so it made it easy to find time. Kevin was great and very helpful. He didn't balk at the fact that I'd had several W2s with me plus a 1099 contract form. He didn't bat an eye at filing an out of state return. He also helped me write off moving expenses with relevant questions and student loan interest without any superficial charge. In addition, he was very fast and I was extremely happy with the results. I was afraid with the contract work, that I'd end up owing money this year, but it turns out that this wasn't the case. When all was said and done, I got a good return and I owed Ameritax no more than I expected to pay, although my service ran about twice as much as the normal tax prep cost because of the 1099. I told Kevin about the other tax places being unable to help me file on time and he couldn't believe it, which is funny, because I couldn't either. I'm glad that they were, though because I'm very happy with Kevin and Ameritax and with the level of service he provided. He's got one very loyal customer in the years to come.

He broke…read morehis contract of 1 year (year started on 04/2018) and did not finish his book keeping for entire year (he did only till 12/2018). He said he would file tax for the company and my personal tax. After few days, In the middle of tax season, he decided not to provide services to me. It was in 04/2019 (that's like prime time for tax filing). When i asked him what's the reason for denying service. For which he replied that its management decision and fail to give me any valid reason for it. I was not warned even once about it. He sent me email stating that he would not be providing service effective immediately (not even 30 days notice). After consulting with lawyers I have decided to file a LAWSUIT against him and his firm. I am in the process of finalizing the lawyer for this lawsuit. He will also send complaint to TSBPA (Texas state board of public accounting). Guys like him needs to be taught lesson that they just cannot do whatever they like. There is a protocol that they need to follow. If anyone faced the same situation please let me know and i will include you in the lawsuit against him. My email is djbholalawsuit@gmail.com. All my lawyers said its pretty open and shut case and we will hear positive result quickly after filing in the court. I will be finalizing my lawyers by mid june so please let me know if you would like to be included in the lawsuit against him too.
