Booked via the Fork for ease and while it may seem like a more tourist-y spot (in the sense that…read morethe leads are always inviting folks walking by in to view the menu)...Naima is LEGIT. We wanted seafood because when in Sorrento...why not opt for super fresh seafood right by the coast?! Our server recommended a really delicious local red that was super reasonably priced and we enjoyed with said red: For Primi -- *Gnocchi alla sorrentina (Sorrento-style Gnocchi): I mean...we kinda had to get a regional specialty right? Gnocchi here is potato based instead. It was SO delicious - still perfect texture. They also served this HOT HOT HOT with melty cheese. So delicious and a really generous portion!! *Spaghettoni alle vongole (Pasta with Clams): Another favorite for us in general so figured a really fresh version could be stellar and it didn't disappoint! This slightly edged out the gnocchi for me flavor-wise, but the gnocchi was dang good so it just goes to show how DELISH this was!!! For Secondi -- *Grigliata mista di pesce (mixed grilled fish - this was an incredible plate of such fresh seafood. There was various fish, a giant prawn, octopus alll grilled & seasoned to perfection! *Swordfish special! -- apparently it was swordfish season and it was a 'fresh catch' and I feel like you could tell! Really lovely and nicely seasoned. Portions were very generous & we were way too full for dessert at this point! So you could probably eat more "American" style here (Just 1 entree instead of our approach), but the menu here is pretty stellar!!!

I had been bit by a crab a number of times at Amalfi earlier in the day. I decided to return the favor and had the excellent crab with squid ink pasta. I will say that the crab was a lot of work, it was also a delicious crab. The squid ink pasta itself was perfectly al dente. Added a second course of a local fish with cherry tomatoes, also delicious. Family enjoyed their dinner as well.

My mom and I accidentally discovered Trattoria Da Emilia while roaming the charming streets of…read moreSorrento back in June and what a find it was! Not only was it a wonderful surprise to end up dining right by the water, but even with a line out front, we somehow got incredibly lucky and were seated on the patio completely by chance. I noticed what looked like the owner (or perhaps the general manager) walking around, checking on guests, and helping with service, which added such a warm, authentic touch. Like many restaurants by the water in Italy, the seafood here is incredibly fresh ~ and this place is no exception. We ordered the seafood platter, grilled vegetables, and ravioli with marinara sauce. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, right down to the bread. We also enjoyed some Prosecco, which paired perfectly with the meal. The view was stunning, and the whole restaurant buzzed with lively, happy energy. I would definitely return ~ not only because it was surprisingly affordable, but also because restaurants like this, with their true authenticity and old-world charm, are my favorite. One small note: the bathroom is on the second floor, so if you're older or have mobility issues, just keep in mind there's a set of stairs to climb. But that's very common across Western Europe. Fun fact: This beautiful little spot in Marina Grande has some real cinematic history. Sofia Loren and Vittorio De Sica, while in Sorrento filming Dino Risi's famous 1954 movie "Pane, amore e..." (Bread, Love, and...), actually sat at the tables of Trattoria Emilia. How amazing is that?

She said her steak was disappointing. It was "dry and stringy". But for those of us who ordered fish as our main courses, it was perfection. Maybe seafood is their strength. Absolutely LOVED the Medallion of mozzarella in carrozza on tomato coulis and black olive sand. I could have made an entire meal out of that. We then had the pasta linguine with "scapece" zucchini and burrata cheese from Monti Lattari. Highly recommend. Came out beautifully. I was too impatient to eat it that I forgot to take a pic first. It was beautifully plated though. I had the Wood-smoked red snapper fillet. It had a semolina, lemon and saffron crust, and rested upon roasted potato and basil cream. Delicious. Perfectly cooked. I took a bite of the Sea bass fillet with orange sauce and capers. The oranges are grown in the Sorrento garden. I liked the sea bass even more than my own. I've been to Sorrento 4x now and this was easily my favorite meal I've ever had here.
