They carefully select each piece of meat at its origin. From the genetic heritage, to feeding on the best pastures, to its habitat, as well as the fundamental process of maturation and artisanal cutting. There are dishes that, for the quality of their flavor, origin, and preparation, conquer a place on our table. We are talking about our irresistible meats and, of course, every full-bodied sauce and accompaniment they are served with. They guarantee the tastiest, most tender and succulent meat with an incredible view, which is the bay of Cascais. Terrazza is a perfect place for a summer lunch, a cozy dinner, or a lively group event with a stunning view as a backdrop!

My husband ordered…read morethe Terrazza combination steak medium and they came out the proper temperature... maybe even a little more rare. However, when he bit into it... he kept on chewing. Both steaks were tough. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. The potato puree was similar to paste in texture along with the creamed spinach. I ordered the Argentinian steak and that too was rather tough but jute flavor of salt and pepper on the grill made it edible. Needless to say we were disappointed in our meal. The ambiance had something to be desired. The outdoor furniture was falling apart and was not what we had anticipated. We were the only people in the restaurant at 5:00pm and then two more couples came in while we were there...

I'm skipping the education on what a rodizio is. Presumably you know that already. That said, Fogo de Chão offers 5 menu options: 1) Buffet only: €11 2) Mini-rodizio - no beef: €16 3) Traditional rodizio: €19 4) Special rodizio - only beef: €22 5) Executive rodizio - "Our signature steak, picanha represents the art and science of churrasco cooking. Lightly seasoned with rock salt and sliced thin, it is tender with a robust flavor.": €25 I opted for the traditional. (Why I didn't spend €6 more for the executive, I don't know. I'll just say I was overwhelmed.) I had some sausages that were decent, not great. I skipped on any chicken that came my way. My first beef encounter was not very good. I don't know what it was and due to a language barrier, the gaucho couldn't tell me either. He just kept saying it was "beef!" I had about 5 different cuts. The last, and again, I have no idea what it was, was mouth-watering. My wife had the buffet and I did venture to it for some samples. Neither of us were impressed by it. We still highly recommend Fogo de Chão in Cascais, though, if you're a meat eater. Where else can you get unlimited steak for €25 or unlimited meat in general for €19?

A surprisingly good restaurant for such a touristy location!…read more We stopped there because it was one of the best-looking spots near the popular Carcavelos beach, about mid-afternoon. Given how touristy the location is, we didn't have the greatest expectation, but we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, the service was impeccable. While not native speakers, when it came to food and service servers could speak and understand a great English and were very helpful when it came to helping out with the choice of drinks and food. The passionfruit sangria is the signature of the location and came in absolutely ginormous glasses, when ordered on a by-glass fashion (while still being reasonably priced). Not only was it refreshing, it was also surprisingly delicious for such a spot. For starters, we both went with gazpacho soup. While not authentic, it felt right for the weather and how we felt. Once again, it was extremely tasty and looked great! For the main dish, I took a whole-roasted fish (sea bass I believe) and once again, I was amazing. It was tender, it was well-seasoned, it was fresh, it was delicious and it came with a great seasoned olive sauce and baking potatoes. A really great example of the amazing seafood one can find in Portugal! My partner however was not as lucky. The crevettes skewer was lackluster and lacked any sauce or seasoning, while the crevettes were overcooked and rolled in flour prior to cooking, giving them a specific and not a very pleasant texture. Now, the desert - I went with a chocolate mousse - kept the whole trend of the culinary excellence going and was both chocolaty and delicious to the maximum. Overall, a great location, and if you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a visit!
