My country of choice was Kenya & I worked with Mark to arrange the eight day trip. Mark was extremely detailed about our travel arrangements. Our excursions, flights, food, hotel accommodation and transportation was arranged through Odyssey. With our reservation the Odyssey team shared information about Kenya's climate, recommended items we should travel with, clothing suggestions etc. The information was needed and sincerely appreciated. I arrived in Kenya at night and our guide Erastus was timely and friendly. Erastus stayed with the group the entire stay. The first night in Kenya we stayed in Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, the hotel was rustic and beautiful. I highly recommend exploring the property if the opportunity is available. The breakfast at the hotel was fabulous, it was an entire feast of delicious items from fruit to meat items. After breakfast we were driven to the magical Naivasha Sopa Lodge where animals roamed freely on the compound. At night Hippos left the nearby lake to graze and in the day giraffes, monkeys, birds and other animals relaxed in the shaded areas. Our last stay was at the Masai Mara Game Reserve. It was a long, bumpy, adventurous ride to our final hotel. There were stops along the way to purchase souvenirs and the long drive provided a great view of the county and the people. I saw wild zebras, sheep and wild moneys hanging by the roadside. The Masai Mara Game Reserve rooms are tents on a secure compound. The staff at all locations were hospitable. Erastus was excellent at spotting animals and did an excellent job at ensuring we saw rhinos, elephants, snakes and lions. The trip was beyond my expectations and I would highly recommend traveling to Africa with Odyssey Safari.

I cannot thank https://www.odysseysafaris.com enough for making my dream trip come true! The attention to detail, consistent communication, and VIP treatment was unmatched! Eliud Mwai, one of the owners, came to meet me personally to discuss my itinerary and ensure everything was meeting my standards. My guide-driver Charles Wahinga is near and dear to my heart! We spent every day together for a week and my trip would not have been as special without his kindness, passion for the land, people, wildlife and culture, without his hilarious sense of humor, openness, and exceptional skills! His passion for safari was contagious. I will forever call him Friend... and Kihingo! The areas they proposed, Nairobi, Lake Naivasha, Nakuru, and Masai Mara were expertly chosen and timed, based on what I expressed that I was looking for out of this trip. My lodging was top notch and my safety and comfort were always paramount. My bucket list trip was worth every penny and then some! I stayed at The Safari Hotel and Casino in Nairobi city. It was cool, but not my favorite in the list. In Naivasha, Sopa Lodge blew me away because the animals walk freely amongst the guest. I loved the intimacy of that! Food was off the chain too. In Nakuru, I stayed at the very high end lodging called The Cliff, an andBeyond property. The lodging and views were stunning! They only have 10 glamorous tents on the cliff top property, so the personal attention was on point! In the Masai Mara, I stayed at another andBeyond property called Kichwa Tembo. The Masai Warriors from the local village make regular visits there and welcome you with Masai dance performances. The food at every location was delicious and fresh, though I did get Travelers Gut my first day in Kenya. Thankfully, Mantazuma's Revenge only lasted two days. It's very likely you will get it, so plan for it with Imodium! I spread my Mom's ashes at the base of a tree in the Motherland. She would be pleased to rest in this most majestic place. If you're contemplating a Kenya visit, don't hesitate. It was life changing!

You expect an agent to be able to personalize an itinerary based on her own travel experience and on her understanding of your individual interests and budget. As we have discovered, Eva instead relies on her "business partners," mega-agencies whom she keeps at arm's length from her customers. This two-step makes the process of travel planning unnecessarily complicated, time consuming, impersonal and error-prone. My impression is that Eva places commissions above customers. For example, she tried to tie a refund to our agreeing to spend three times its value on future trips. I am sorry to be one-sided in my comments but I have never experienced a service business quite as emotionally exhausting and untrustworthy. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, or these days DIY.

When we asked for more details to cooperate with our budget, she was no help at all and simply said that our trip/budget was impossible. We had never been to Florence, Cinque Terra or Tuscany before and the thought of trying to blindly plan a trip without guidance was overwhelming. Priscila listened to our goals and planned a trip allowing us to see and enjoy Italy. Not every vacation allows you to have time to absorb the culture, but our trip was planned implementing the perfect pace. We started in Florence which is a high activity city, went next to Cinque Terra which was toned down a bit and ended in a relaxing villa in Tuscany. Every detail was carefully considered with recommendations for sights to see, restaurants, even specific meals to consider! We had just the perfect amount of scheduled activities and days of leisure to explore as we wished. Priscila secured three days with private drivers who spoke English to take us to smaller surrounding villages-STUNNING. We knew exactly where to go, which train to take, had vouchers to tours so lines were skipped, and we stayed at BEAUTIFUL locations where everyone was friendly and the food outstanding! But most ESSENTIAL was the support Priscila provided when our airline was delayed, connecting flights missed, luggage lost, and problems with the airline not issuing a boarding pass. Travel can have a large stress component, but she had our backs ALL THE WAY! We don't know what we would have done without her continued support throughout our trip. It was a trip of a lifetime and we would do it over a millions times because of the superb planning and support provided by Tour Italy Now and Priscila Siano. Mille grazies!!! The tour guides made everything so easy! We transitioned so smoothly from one activity to another. They called ahead so that we were able to avoid as much wait time as possible. We were able to bypass long wait time at some sites by being with the guides. In Beijing, we would've been very lost without our tour guide, Grace, as English is not very widely spoken there. Our daughter was attending a weeklong conference in Tokyo with Google/YouTube and had asked us if we were interested in joining her, as she planned to do some more touring after her conference was over, over the Thanksgiving holidays in 2019. We jumped at the chance. We had ideas about some of the cities and activities we were interested in, however, we also had to take into account the use a rollator, as I was planning on a hip replacement early in 2020, and it was crucial that I rely on it. I had already booked the three of us in a brand new boutique hotel close to our daughter's Tokyo conference for the first week when she would be working and my husband and I would be visiting sites. Kervin seamlessly, incorporated the Tokyo week into our touring and included tours with our daughter whenever her schedule allowed. He paired us with private guides throughout the trip, who were knowledgeable and most enjoyable. From Tokyo, we visited Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and back to Tokyo for our return home. Explorient worked with us when we preferred a different hotel in Kyoto, and all the activities and guides they provided based on our preferences were top notch. Ranging from rickshaw tours, boat tours, tea ceremonies, cooking lessons. foodie tours, sake tasting, shrines, temples, and museums visits, (just to name a few), as well as all our train travel including Shinkansen trips and luggage transfers were on time and without glitches. We look back on this holiday and on Explorient's expert guidance as one on our most if not the most enjoyable of all our vacations. I have…read moretraveled on three different Catholic pilgrimages with them and each trip was more memorable than the last. The accommodations were better than expected, the tour guides were outstanding, knowledgeable and entertaining and the bus drivers were polite, attentive and incredibly skilled! No complaints here. My first experience in 2018 was to Italy (a trip of a lifetime) and our tour guide, Gloria, was terrific! Every part of that trip was meticulously planned and we toured some of the most amazing sites in Italy. We were also given ample opportunities to explore on our own. My second trip in 2022 was to Germany, Austria and Switzerland (including the Oberammergau Passion Play) which was delayed for two years due to the worldwide Covid pandemic. That was such a crazy time but it wasn't a problem for us to be patient. I'm so happy we had that trip to look forward to. Again, we had the most wonderful tour guide, Deborah. She was a delight! That trip so beautiful and memorable. Each scenic location took our breath away. I recently returned from another pilgrimage to Poland & the Czech Republic (2025). Once again... nothing but praise for Nawas! Our hotels were excellent, the food was amazing and our tour guide, Bogdan, was a hoot! Our tours were outstanding and, again, we were given plenty of time explore independently. Pure enjoyment! Nawas has always been responsive to emails and well organized. I have been on two other pilgrimages with another well-known Catholic travel company and was incredibly disappointed each time... mostly due to very negative experiences with the tour guides who showed no interest in the welfare of the pilgrims but instead herded us like cattle and YELLED at us if anyone was talking. Very unprofessional. It was clear neither guide enjoyed their jobs. Additionally, we were often taken past important sites on the tours rather than entering them and getting a full tour as we did with Nawas. Needless to say, I will NOT be traveling with that other tour company again (sorry, Peter). (IYKYK). I won't hesitate to participate in future pilgrimages with Nawas! Challenges may arise occasionally, but the key is to be patient and realize that you are paying to experience another culture. Don't expect things to be like home. Give thanks and enjoy your travels!
