This is the best thrift in LB bar none. Tons of new and used goods, I always walk out with a smile. I've been shopping there since the the two woman owners opened, I read some of the bad reviews and basically they add up to sellers unhappy because they didn't cash in big bucks on used stuff and over sensitive people hating- when you look at the place at face value it genuinely has the best quality items in a used apparel shop. I pulled an $800 jacket out of there for less than $100 ..... I bought New adidas for 50 and new awesome vans for 35. read more

I had just dropped off clothes for resell and they rejected every single item. My clothes are all in good condition and are from really good brands. I only shop from Madewell, Zara, Gap and Anthropologie!!! I looked at the stuff they sell and theirs aren't nearly as good as what I had dropped off. A lot weren't even branded. My style is very classic and great for a casual weekend. Whoever did the buy is obviously not stylish enough. I think this store is a joke and very biased to women that are more on the plus size. Seriously the stuff they sell are like Goodwill stuff. I think if I wasn't selling these they would take it in a heartbeat because I can guarantee that they'll make $$$ out of these. Fashion is always recycled and they want newer clothes? Duh so why are they in the business of selling used clothing? Why would people bring clothes for resell if it's something they could still use? They just wasted my time. She literally texted me to come get my clothes some 20 mins after I left. I doubt if she even looked at my clothes. A lot were still folded by me. Don't go to this store if you'd like to sell your used clothes. They are a joke! read more

They have cute quality stuff. Love shopping there. Sometimes get lucky with affordable higher end finds. Selling clothes back doesn't yield much so don't treat this as a viable source of income. I look at it as a fun way to shop for clothes. My only caveat is that you should look at the clothing closely as I have gotten a few things that are dirty/stained. I had a weird experience today at this place. First off, non of the employees were wearing masks and as far as I'm concerned, mask mandates especially indoors is still a thing. Even if you're vaccinated. It's still not ok. I came in with a ton of good clothing brands like Madewell, Zara, Anthropologie and a few others but the girl who took care of me only took a handful of things. This place isn't clear on who their audience is, but I can tell by the sizing and items they picked, that they cater to people who are the smaller side and that their hand picking can come off as fat phobic. the energy in this space doesn't scream all are welcome. the vibe it gives me is just if you're not the size of brandy Melville model or a size 8 shoe, you're not welcomed here. On top of that, one of the girls ran after me because one of my bags beeped. Her supervisor told her to chase after me? Like what? I literally told them go ahead and check my bags. Can a POC just go to a space without crap like this??? I don't recommend this spot but if you're a teen it makes more sense. I'm a huge supporter of small businesses but if a space shows me how clear they are to catering to white suburban people, I'm not down for it. Plus I didn't get much cash back either. I brought a brand-new pair of red "Dr. Martens" and a pale blue "lack of color" wool ranch fedora hat to "Tattered" to sell. They offered $33.00. Yes!! Thirty-Three Dollars? For both!! I was astonished! I saw that their store caters to younger customers. Thus, when we cleaned our closet a few weeks later, we found 30 Banana Republic outlet NYC dresses with tags. These dresses cost $130+. I called, and the lady said they were interested in all of them. They asked me to leave them and call me when they were ready with pricing. They contacted me at 5:15, kept one dress, and told me I had to pick up the others by six or they would be forfeited to the store. They did not have the space to hold them; they called me at 5:15, decided to keep one dress, and advised me that I had to be there by 6 o'clock before they closed to pick up the rest, or they would be forfeited to the store. I dropped them off at noon! I called twice, and they were not ready; I had gone home 25 minutes away and was making dinner. I asked if I could pick them up first in the morning, and they stated they did not have room for them and that if they were not picked up by six, they would keep them...I guess they would magically have the space. They were unprofessional and did not stand by what they said on the phone, and financially, it was not worth the time to hold on any longer than that. read more

Satisfied with my sell and purchase. I had a bag of clothing I was going to donate, looked up their sell policies, and knew not everything would be bought by the store. I figured that I might as well try and see what I can get before donating since I had a few items, brand new with tags. I received $60 for 2 pairs of shoes, a pair of khakis and a dress... the cash offer not store credit which would have been more, but not bad for items I was simply going to get rid of. I donated the clothes they did not buy... Only wish they had a donation program as well so I wouldn't have to make a second stop. Lol. The staff were polite, so I didn't have a bad customer service experience as others have mentioned. Unfortunately I would have to agree with some of the reviewers when they said the staff are not knowledgeable about all high end fashion. I purchased a Missoni dress for $50!!!! Look them up if you don't know why I would be excited over a $50 dress purchase from a second hand store ;) absolute score!!! Love this store! It was hard not to leave with more stuff. If the purse is still there the next time I sell, it's meant to be. LOL read more

I've sold to Tattered several times and am consistently pleased with the amount they give me for cash or store credit. Although they stock much more raiment for the lady folk than us dudes they always seem to have something on the rack that I want (which is saying something considering I'm super picky when it comes to what I like from the local haberdashery). I don't write reviews often, but this store deserves one. Their store for shopping is fine, some cute finds. But the "resale" aspect of this store is actually comical. Multiple friends and family members have brought clothes to this store to sell, they take anywhere from nothing to about 2 items (the cheap ones). Some can argue it's not their style, but considering the variety of items that were brought in whether they were designer, popular stores, vintage, or basic pieces were not accepted, makes this store just a store, not a resell store. Don't sell here. Oh! And the one time they did buy something from my daughter, they offered $40 for brand new $250 boots. Yeah right! Poshmark it is!! read more

I wouldn't walk in considering this a "thrift" store. They have a lot of good stuff! Just a bit pricey, although most of it is higher end, it felt a bit outdated. I did bring some pieces to sell here, and they let me know they don't buy/sell fast fashion, despite the fact I saw a few forever 21 pieces around the store. All together I will be going back, they had some nice Motel pieces at the front marked for about 20 dollars cheaper than you would get them online! read more

Just made my 1st Sale @ Tattered, & I was pleasantly surprised! I came here with full intent to DECLUTTER my closet, I was well aware selling my clothes would not earn me a whole lot, but might as well try to make a buck! Out of my 2 bags of barely worn designer clothing, the staff chose 3 items(black denim skirt, blue stone washed denim skirt, tan Levi's denim shorts). If I cashed out I would of received $8, but store credit was just under $14. So I took the store credit & scored a beautiful Zara romper that cost $18 that would of easily been $40-$60 retail. I usually sell my stuff on OfferUp, but it can be a hassle dealing with uncertain customers who ALWAYS wanna haggle for $3-$5 a piece, Tattered took about 25mins to basically break even of all the stress I would've had to have had with OfferUp! read more

This is one of those consignment store lowkey the manager is slightly bizarre and kinda do bait and switch tactics. I remember the last time I was there, they had a 25% off sale of all items. We manage to find a ebbets field and vans jacket for a good price. I small talk with the manager for the fun of it and not knowing I believe she purposely gave us 10%. Came back 20 mins later, it took her 30 mins to find our debit card receipt and bunch of "I am sorry, I am sorry, please it was my mistake". If you guys want stay in businesses, it's 2019-2020 you have stores like 2nd street and Plato closet dominating the game with superior customer service and products. And stop hiring those egoistic workers and hire more originally people with product knowledge, trust me, this goes a long way. read more

Tattered is a thrift store that sells and buys mainly brand name and gently used pieces. With this in mind, most of the items in their store are pricey. If you are looking for unique, on brand finds, and don't mind paying more for your thrift find-- Tattered may be the place for you. As a frequent thrifter, I am looking for items that are in good condition AND are at a low price. I do browse this establishment from time to time but often find that their items are too expensive. A goal of thrifting, for me personally, is to save money by finding a good deal and if a thrift store is expensive... I might as well have gone elsewhere and buy my items brand new! Of course, higher prices for some pieces are understandable (due to brand) but in the end- they are all used items. Although I discussed in length about my opinions on the cost. My rating of a 3/5 is due to the poor customer service. Staff do not help create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and are not attentive to who walks into the store. Fitting rooms are not manned. I often see the staff preoccupied with their personal conversations even while ringing up customers. This is a unique shop that has a lot to offer- it'd be great if they could improve in this very important aspect as a business. read more

I don't know why I keep going back to try and sell my clothes there for years. for example today, I came in with 2 full large bags filled with popular brands. brandy melville, free people, urban outfitters and other trending items fit for this season. I get $17.25 and it doesn't even look like they touched my bag. Meanwhile, looking through their racks they're filled with old out of date items. most Of the workers are rude. I know I'm not the only one to experience this each time I try to sell. this is ridiculous. read more

One of the worst thrift stores I've ever been too. I tried to sell my clothes here keep in mind I had Levi shorts and jeans, Cotton on clothing, Vans,etc. Good brands I had three bags and they didn't buy a single thing. I can tell by the girls vibes they're extremely racist and stuck up. If you're not white they discriminate you just by the look on their faces. I can't stand girls like this it's actually disgusting. Train your employees better and try not to judge off someone's appearance. It's WAY OVERPRICED and their clothes is actually ugly and looks old ! One of my favorite thrift shops in Long Beach! Their buying process is a bit picky but that's what makes their selection so good! Staff is super stylish and so friendly.
