I ordered from this place because of a recommendation I respect. It was my first experience with this place. I ordered the Honey Garlic wings with fried rice for myself and a chicken philly cheesesteak with fries for my husband. My order was ready when I arrived. The fries were half cooked and cold. The chicken wings didn't take like chicken and I guess not every Asian knows how to make fried rice. It was a HORRIBLE eating experience! Aside from that, I spent a good portion of the night in the bathroom. I'm not sure why people are really high on this place. Maybe I came on a bad night but I will never, ever eat there again and I definitely won't recommend it to anyone I know. read more

I purchased the Chicken Philly, Wings and Fries combo (and a drink) It was really good. The honey garlic pepper wings had the perfect amount of crisp and were in this amazing sauce. Its a great value for $11. My son and I shared this and had plenty of food. Great food at great prices. They will get my repeat business. read more

This is a pretty decent take out spot. The food is worth the price. In my household this restaurant is replacing Wing Stop (because of the location). Terrible food! Terrible service! Visiting area so tried out new spot, but this was one of the worst dining experiences ever. Placed order and waited almost 30 minutes for food. Ordered lemon pepper wings, chicken philly and fish to get a sampling of all their food. Literally saw the owners just bring in food they bough at Costco and just "heat it up" for others waiting. Saw numerous health code violations. The philly was heavily salted and I'm honestly not even sure it was chicken. But, the kicker the messed up and forgot to toss the wings, when we called and talked to owner he said come back and he would replace. We couldn't make it back that day so went back day or two later. Owner stated that since we didn't keep the old wings and bring them back with us days later there was nothing he would do to replace. Then he and the women working there began speaking in Chinese (not realizing I know it) and they were bad mouthing all "those people" that come into the restaurant. Bad food! Bad Service! Being that I work from home most the time, I often order lunch through DoorDash. I saw that this place offers free delivery, so I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! I ordered boneless wings with hot teriyaki sauce, with a side of fried okra. The prices were reasonable, the portions were more than generous, and the flavor was bangin'. Wings are amazing, way better than god awful Hooters, also beats Buffalo wild wings. They have so many different flavors, which is the only negative. That makes it so much harder to choose, plus for another $2 you can get the full wings, it's like getting a whole nother serving. This is my favorite wing place, hands down. I used to always pass it bc it never looked appealing to go to (sorry!), but boy does this place prove the old saying "never judge a book by its cover". They have plenty of options aside from wings too. I go so often that one time I came in to pick up a call in order and the kind lady who's always at the register greeted me by name and had my food handed to me immediately. Their phone line sometimes gets busy and you have to go into the store to order, but I don't mind because that just tells you business is good so the food must be good. Best wings in the triangle so definitely worth the drive out to Northern Durham. The wings are perfectly crisp and the sauces/rubs are incomparable. I'm still making my way through the menu but the honey garlic pepper is unreal, teriyaki is eh, but hot teriyaki is fire. MONEY FACTORY!! This business offers grossly over-priced food (and wings, in particular). For example, if you order "seasoned" whole chicken wings, they charge an extra $2 (which I discovered after-the-fact). I went back for a second visit (aware of the additional $2 fee) and ordered 20 "seasoned" whole wings; to my dismay, they charged an additional "$4 "(alleging there was an additional $2 charge for every 10 wings - which is completely and utterly ridiculous AND, of course, unadvertised). To add to this non-sense, they seemed almost arrogant in their explanation of this $4 additional fee. The 20 whole wings were approximately $25, and I did not even order any side items!! $25 for 20 whole wings (and no sides) is outrageous. While waiting for my order (after having paid for my FINAL meal here - as I will not return to Tasty Shop), another patron was complaining about an additional cost to her order. Frankly, as an African-American, I was disappointed to notice all of the African-American clientele paying these exorbitant prices - while supporting a business not owned by us . . . serving, of all things, fried chicken!! I will not give this business any more of my hard-earned money. They don't seem to appreciate us; in addition, the customer service is inadequate. They not only do not appear to be customer-focused, but there were two small kids running around on the service side of the counter where food is packaged; this is both unsanitary and unacceptable. While waiting for my order, another African-American customer arrived to pick up a previously called-in carryout order. He was told that there was no record of the order. He was frustrated as he repeatedly explained that he had intentionally called the order in 20 minutes ago. The Tasty Shop worker seemed quite nonchalant as she explained that he would need to place the order again. There was no apology, and there was no effort to accommodate the customer in any way. Tasty Shop does not care about us (and will over-charge for every possible item/condiment); they clearly only want our money. There must be a FUBU business in Durham that sells seasoned and whole fried chicken wings. When I find this business (assuming the food is good and the staff is professional), I will be their No. 1 customer!! read more
