Beef Hot Soup
Vivian

I went to Tasty Pot about 30 minutes after they opened, and there were already a good amount of people inside. As soon as you walk in, it smells really good, which immediately made me hungry. Service and ambiance We were greeted right away and sat at a pretty small table. I did think that was a little weird since there were bigger tables open and other parties of two were sitting at larger ones, but it wasn't a huge deal. Ordering is all done through a QR code on your phone. I actually liked this because it didn't feel rushed at all. Even with everything being digital, the servers still came around to check on us and offered to add more broth if we needed it. You also pay up front, so once you're eating, it feels pretty relaxed. Beef hot pot (Taiwanese spicy soup) The soup was really good and super comforting. The portion felt fair for what you're paying, and it came out piping hot and stayed hot the whole time on the flame. The broth had a nice level of spice, not too much, just right. It came with a lot of stuff in it, mushrooms, tofu, taro, beef, corn, clams, fish cake, bean curd, cabbage, and vermicelli noodles. I got rice on the side but barely touched it because the noodles were already filling. The only thing that threw me off was the beef. It tasted fine, but the slices were kind of bunched together, like they cooked too fast in the hot pot. Instead of feeling like separate slices, it felt more like a clump. Not bad, just not ideal. Lasting impressions Overall, it was a really solid lunch and especially nice on a colder day. Warm, filling, and comforting. The small table and beef texture stood out a little, but I'd still come back.

When you walk in it, it already smells SO good. We were greeted and sat right away. The menu is simple and easy to navigate, which I love. For lunch, you get a free side of rice or noodle AND a free green or black tea. I didn't have high expectations but both drinks exceeded those. We ordered other drinks from their boba menu but would honestly stick to the free ones next time. Seafood Lobster Hot Pot: * Subbed the broth for the Taiwanese broth * Great flavor * Lots of seafood * There's noodles included already but it's not that much so the extra side of noodles was great * Lobster was a little over cooked, I like mine on the softer side Sichuan Hot Pot: * I don't typically like Sichuan peppers and the way they tingle your tongue but this one was GOOD * If you love bold flavors, get this one * Lots of beef Kimchi Dumpling Hot Pot: * Smallest size * The dumplings were AMAZING - My favorite thing I ate from here Sizzling Beef Plate: * We got the black pepper flavor * Added cheese and egg * Nice flavor * Lots of rice * Needs more beef! Our server was really nice and helped with recommendations, but I forgot to get his name!

This is our go-to hotpot spot whenever the weather cools down. We've experimented with the menu, but we always find ourselves coming back to our two absolute favorites: #1 Beef and #9 Taiwanese. You can't go wrong with either. Both are flavorful, consistent, and hit the spot every time. Must have add-on: quail eggs--they are the perfect addition to the broth! Pro-Tip for Service: They give you the option to order via a QR code at the table or wait for a server. Hint: Use your phone! The service is significantly quicker when you submit the order digitally. Even if you order on your phone, the staff is incredibly attentive. You don't need to flag anyone down for refills. They are proactive about coming by to top off your water and broth throughout the meal. Reliable, delicious, and great service. Highly recommend!

First time here having my 2 besties meet and treating them to lunch . As soon as I walked in was greeted by Anthony . He was very friendly and helpful with our questions. I ordered the Taiwanese supreme spicy hot soup spice level mediums and my one bestie ordered the beef hot soup soup no spice and my other bestie ordered the curry flavor hot soup not sure if no spice or mild . We ordered tiger pearl milk with boba, mango green tea and mango black tea with boba. Everything tasted great and a very pleasurable experience with my 2 best friends. Recommend this place even on a hot day like it was .

Best Taiwanese cuisine with my beef hot pot and seafood lobster hot pot for my mother. My sister ordered Szechuan which was very spicy with lots of small, red chili. Ube custard was delicious but tiny and cost $5.00 each. Enjoyed delicious, authentic hot pot. Service was excellent, continued to refill broth to out hot many times.

Great as always. I believe this is truly a great starting point for someone starting out with hot pot or even experienced pros! Prior to discovering Tasty Pot, I have tried other hot pots and its not as straight forward--maybe I experience decision fatigue and this place takes all of the many decisions away. I've invited my friends here and it seems to be our usual when we are having dinner! The service is top notch! The staff members are extremely attentive and friendly. I recommend Tasty Pot always for hot pot!!!!

Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup, Curry Flavor Hot Soup, Lamb Hot Soup, skewers

Wait, I totally stumbled upon Tasty Pot serendipitously!! And I'm so thankful I did. My friends and I were looking for a late-ish restaurant because the place we planned to go to was closed. Thankfully, there are lots of places in Mira Mesa. Tasty Pot is a casual hot pot place, and it's served in individual portions rather than AYCE; it's very convenient because, sometimes, you're just not in the mood for buffet-style. I ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Hot Pot, whereas my friends got the Curry Flavor and the Lamb with a side of skewers. You order using a QR code at your table, and it is very user-friendly. Our food came out shortly after, arriving in sizzling pots encased in decorative trays. There were even little fires underneath, which could be adjusted depending on your preferences. BTW, they can add water to your broth if it starts to evaporate as you're eating. Now, onto the review of the food itself. I really enjoyed my kimchi dumpling hot pot!! There was a huge variety of different toppings, like fish cakes, rice cakes, veggies, seafood, and dumplings. Honestly, I believe that this is a way better deal than malatang. The broth was perfect for a cold night, and it probably helped that we were all starving. If I came back, I would order the curry-flavored broth; I tried my friend's, and it was so savory and delicious!! I was worried it would be thick (which would be weird for hot pot), but it's not at all. Service-wise, the employees were very kind and helpful, even when we made a mistake ordering. You might place the order yourself, but they were always attentive, checking in on us, explaining how the hot pot here is, refilling our waters/broths, etc. Overall, I had a lovely time at Tasty Pot, and I'll definitely be back again!

We came here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The servers are very kind and attentive. The ambiance is welcoming and the outdoor patio seating is lit up at night. The perfect restaurant for a personal hotpot! * Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup (Medium w/ Taiwanese Soup) - 9/10 (i love how they fill your pot with a variety of beef, fish cakes, & many more! there's three really big beef dumplings & lot of kimchi. you can also choose between side of vermicelli noodles or rice, & i chose the vermicelli that paired really well in this soup. this is my go-to pot here! ~tine) * Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup - 9.3/10 (i thought the broth was really flavorful. i am a big fan of all the cabbage they give you. the meat was on the leaner side so some pieces were tough. i am a big fan of the other toppings; my favorite included the beef tendons & blood cake. service here is always on point & the dipping sauces were delicious. definitely better than boiling point! ~jerm)

This place serves individual hot pots but my daughter & I always share a Spicy Taiwanese Hot Pot. It comes with ramen noodles inside but we also ask for bean thread noodles on the side instead of the rice. The lunch menu includes a free green or black tea. Absolutely perfect for cold rainy days. Once you're seated you can scan a QR code to place your order. Orders come out quickly. Make sure to ask the servers to refill your broth. When you want to pay your bill you can just walk up to the counter to do so. Casual & lively vibe.

Stinky Tofu Hot Soup in the front

Servers here are so kind and attentive. They came by multiple times to refill our water and our broth. They also checked in multiple times in case our pot fire went out or if we needed anything. It was not overly busy that night, but still a full dining room of guests indoors. I got the stinky tofu hot pot. It has some good variety of toppings, all which are precooked before bringing to the table. Everything matches the description on their menu. There is 1 free rice or noodles included aside from the noodles already in the pot. Spice level and different broth can also be chosen when ordering. Order using the QR code! I would like to try other pot flavors the next time I come here.

Came here for a casual hot pot meal and overall had a good experience. The food quality was solid, ingredients seemed fresh, portions were generous, and the pricing felt fair for what you get. I personally don't love the pre-set hot pot format since I prefer customizing my ingredient mix, but that's just a personal preference. That said, the Thai base soup was a great! I do wish they had more dipping sauce options as well since it was fairly limited (3 options provided on the table and I believe onlh 2 additional add-ons for a price). Ambience is casual and comfortable, nothing fancy but clean and easy for a hot pot dinner. Service was okay. While staff was polite, it was a bit difficult to flag someone down for broth and water refills. Overall, a good option if you're in the area, especially if you enjoy pre-set hot pot combos and bold soup bases. The lobster hot pot which I didn't get did seem like pretty great value!

Chill pre-made hot pot. Feels like portions have gotten a lil smaller over the years but in this economy? I understand. Flavors were chill, broth was chill, and we got these skewers but it took basically our whole meal to arrive, that was not chill.

Thai Flavor Hot Soup, replaced with kimchi soup.

Food is always yummy and consistent. The service is fast and attentive. Though it can get busy the noise level is normal and not annoying is any way.

Do they still offer their stamp card?

What time does lunch prices end?

Anyone cares to say what these hot pots cost? Their menu is BLANK about price. What is it?

The prices are on the top right corner. But the prices range from 12-20 bucks depending on time and pot

The people who work there just seem happy and work well together. They're friendly and patient with me as I navigated their menu items. I could not decide what I wanted so I accidentally ordered 3 drinks: Roasted Oolong Milk Tea Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea 3Q Milk Tea The roasted oolong was for my sister so I don't know how it was but she wanted another one so that should tell you all you need to know. lol I love floral teas and Osmanthus oolong is my new favorite and it delivered. I opted for the agar aka crystal pearls and that was the right choice for the floral tea. I also accidentally drank the 3Q tea after and while not my favorite, I appreciated all the toppings and the tea was still good. The boba is super unique! It's got a nice, chewy kinda texture. I have never had boba like this before and I wish I had blacked out and gotten double boba.

I…read moreremember it being a Rita's Italian Ice at one point, then a bubble waffle shop, and now it's BoBaPoP Tea Bar. Honestly, boba fits the area way better now, especially since more tea spots have been popping up around here. I stopped in for a quick drink and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out, which is always a good sign. Inside is clean and modern, very simple but put together. You can order at a kiosk or go up to the cashier, which makes it easy depending on what you prefer. The menu has a solid variety. All your usual milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and blended drinks, plus a good amount of toppings. They were also advertising a matcha ice spinner which caught my attention, so I'll probably come back to try that and see how their matcha quality is. I went with a mango fruit tea at 75% sweetness and added boba. I sat outside while waiting, they have limited indoor seating but a couple tables outside which is nice. The drink came out in about five minutes, so pretty quick. First thing I noticed was there were actual mango pieces in the drink, not just syrup. That was a nice surprise and added a good texture. They were soft enough to go through the straw too, so it didn't feel annoying to drink. Flavor wise, I do wish I went lower on the sweetness. Even at 75% it was still a bit too sweet for me, but that's more personal preference. The part that didn't really hit was the boba. It was a little mushy and didn't have that chewy texture I usually look for. It also had this slightly artificial honey taste that kind of overpowered the drink a bit. Not terrible, just not my favorite. It's a solid and convenient spot for the area. Good variety, quick service, and a nice setup. I'd come back, but probably switch up the toppings next time.

I picked the 70% level with 50% ice. A worker assembled my item very quickly. When I took my first sip, the sweetness was potent for 70% Maybe that's why the suggestion was for 50% The peach flavor was very prominent too but not so much for the oolong tea. The amount of boba pearls added to the drink was generous. For the value and quality of the product I tried, this visit to Gong Cha was worth a four star rating.
