I'm a bit disappointed that they raised their prices on all dishes . We ordered the beef hot pot and that is consistently pretty good. However, I decided to try a new item today "Mala skewers" it doesn't really tell me what is in there..so I kinda gave it a try. It comes about 8-10 skewers with some randomn beef, fish balls, 1 tofu, squids and some sausage. The beef bites on the skewers were okay but it's quiet over cooked and hard to chew on it. Won't order that again tho. Quite a bit disappointed on that part. I would still give them a 4 stars because of the consistency of their hot pots quality , plus randomn free drinks promo.. even with their price raise plus the bad experience on the skewers. However, I would probably not go there as often because of it too. Staff are friendly, place is decent clean.
I love coming to Tasty Pot because their flavors feel nostalgic and it brings me back to my childhood in Taiwan. I always crave stinky tofu hotpot. Tasty Pot is the only place that has it, and it is so good. If you're not a fan of stinky tofu, don't worry. My friends who don't like it either order their other hotpots (beef, lamb) and rave about them too. You're able to choose whether you want vermicelli or a bowl of rice with your hotpot. If you come on a weekday for lunch, they include a free sweetened black or green tea.
I always get the Taiwanese Hot Pot in medium spice. This time I got it extra spicy, which I find it more flavorful. It doesn't lose too much flavor when they start refilling the broth. 1 pot is good to share for my daughter and I. We usually have leftovers as well for the next day. Service is pretty quick and everyone is super friendly. They started a new spin for a prize thing when you order through the QR and I won a free drink. I love that idea. A bonus to the meal that never disappoints.
Super cute restaurant tucked in a small shopping center. While it can be tricky to get to with the one way roads it's absolutely worth coming by! Service was fantastic, I wished I had our server's name but he was very excited to hear it was our first time visiting and explained everything perfectly to us. Also explained each sauce available for us to try and have us great recommendations which to use with what in our bowls, Individually preset hot pot like bowls that are set up to perfection. Each bowl was flavored perfectly. The cheesy milk soup was surprisingly much better than I thought it would have been. The broth was absolutely delicious and balanced with the dairy flavor creating a savory soup i would not have normally thought would work. The Japanese miso was perfect with the variety of surf and turf in the pot. My friend and I were both pleasantly surprised each set up had a small flame to keep the soups hot. We were both also caught off guard how big each pot was. We probably could have easily shared a pot and appetizer and be perfectly comfortable.
Always love coming to eat here! Parking is a bit small and cramped, but I always find parking. Sometimes there is a wait to get seated during peak hours but never too long of a line. There is both in door and out door seating. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on your table. These are individual pots that you can share and add more items onto or eat on your own. Each pot is a decent amount of food per person, but I don't think enough for 2 people unless you do some add ons. The individual pots come out ready to eat in this cool stand to keep the food hot. Typically the fire inside will burn until about halfway through your meal. My personal favorite ones are the beef hot soup and cheesy milk hot soup. Absolutely love the soybean sauce, there's also a chili oil and garlic soy sauce for dipping. For each pot you order, you get an option for a carb: rice or vermicelli. I usually get rice since sometimes there is already some vermicelli in the pot. They also have skewers and boba drinks.
This is my fav tasty pot! Love coming here their broth is so fire. I always get the seafood one with Thai broth and add ramen and quail eggs. Service is also fast and everyone here is nice. We love to celebrate birthdays here as well they always accommodate our large group.

It was raining and super windy, but my sister really wanted Tasty Pot for her birthday, so we went! Workers accommodated our party of 6 very quickly even though it was pretty busy. We ordered 5 pots, and sides and drinks came out fast. Staff was very helpful and efficient, which made everything run smoothly. Food was as good as always. I went to Tasty Pot about 30 minutes after they opened, and there were already a good amount of people inside. As soon as you walk in, it smells really good, which immediately made me hungry. Service and ambiance We were greeted right away and sat at a pretty small table. I did think that was a little weird since there were bigger tables open and other parties of two were sitting at larger ones, but it wasn't a huge deal. Ordering is all done through a QR code on your phone. I actually liked this because it didn't feel rushed at all. Even with everything being digital, the servers still came around to check on us and offered to add more broth if we needed it. You also pay up front, so once you're eating, it feels pretty relaxed. Beef hot pot (Taiwanese spicy soup) The soup was really good and super comforting. The portion felt fair for what you're paying, and it came out piping hot and stayed hot the whole time on the flame. The broth had a nice level of spice, not too much, just right. It came with a lot of stuff in it, mushrooms, tofu, taro, beef, corn, clams, fish cake, bean curd, cabbage, and vermicelli noodles. I got rice on the side but barely touched it because the noodles were already filling. The only thing that threw me off was the beef. It tasted fine, but the slices were kind of bunched together, like they cooked too fast in the hot pot. Instead of feeling like separate slices, it felt more like a clump. Not bad, just not ideal. Lasting impressions Overall, it was a really solid lunch and especially nice on a colder day. Warm, filling, and comforting. The small table and beef texture stood out a little, but I'd still come back.

Seafood Lobster Hot Pot: * Subbed the broth for the Taiwanese broth * Great flavor * Lots of seafood * There's noodles included already but it's not that much so the extra side of noodles was great * Lobster was a little over cooked, I like mine on the softer side Sichuan Hot Pot: * I don't typically like Sichuan peppers and the way they tingle your tongue but this one was GOOD * If you love bold flavors, get this one * Lots of beef Kimchi Dumpling Hot Pot: * Smallest size * The dumplings were AMAZING - My favorite thing I ate from here Sizzling Beef Plate: * We got the black pepper flavor * Added cheese and egg * Nice flavor * Lots of rice * Needs more beef! Servers here are so kind and attentive. They came by multiple times to refill our water and our broth. They also checked in multiple times in case our pot fire went out or if we needed anything. It was not overly busy that night, but still a full dining room of guests indoors. I got the stinky tofu hot pot. It has some good variety of toppings, all which are precooked before bringing to the table. Everything matches the description on their menu. There is 1 free rice or noodles included aside from the noodles already in the pot. Spice level and different broth can also be chosen when ordering. Order using the QR code! I would like to try other pot flavors the next time I come here.
This is our go-to hotpot spot whenever the weather cools down. We've experimented with the menu, but we always find ourselves coming back to our two absolute favorites: #1 Beef and #9 Taiwanese. You can't go wrong with either. Both are flavorful, consistent, and hit the spot every time. Must have add-on: quail eggs--they are the perfect addition to the broth! Pro-Tip for Service: They give you the option to order via a QR code at the table or wait for a server. Hint: Use your phone! The service is significantly quicker when you submit the order digitally. Even if you order on your phone, the staff is incredibly attentive. You don't need to flag anyone down for refills. They are proactive about coming by to top off your water and broth throughout the meal. Reliable, delicious, and great service. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience at Tasty Pot! The food was delicious, portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and flavorful. I especially enjoyed the hot pot broth--it was rich and had a lot of flavor. The service was also friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. It's a great place to come with friends or family, especially if everyone wants their own individual hot pot. Definitely a place I would come back to again. Tasty Pot is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego, as it is a big comfort food place for me! They offer individual hot pot bowls filled with plenty of meats, vegetables, noodles, and other toppings, and is served with an active flame underneath to keep it warm. They have many different options to choose from, but my personal favorite is the cheesy hot milk soup, because it is super creamy and flavorful! They also offer either complimentary rice or vermicelli on the side, they have sauces you can use for dipping, and you can adjust your broth spice level. You can order your bowl from a QR code at the table. The restaurant has a very colorful interior and a cute panda mascot out front. read more
Tucked away off the busiest intersection is this gem. Their Taiwanese Cuisine is delicious. Even during the heat wave, I decided to dine here. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The place is clean and comfy. I dined inside because who in their right mind would dine outside when it was damn near 100 degrees and 90% humidity!? My meal was delicious and had a good amount of meat and seafood. The broth was delicious and the tea was just the right amount of sweetness for my liking. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again. The best time to visit is after the lunch hour rush and prior to closing for their dinner hours. I enjoyed the strawberry hard candy as well. A perfect change of flavor after enjoying my meal. Wait, I totally stumbled upon Tasty Pot serendipitously!! And I'm so thankful I did. My friends and I were looking for a late-ish restaurant because the place we planned to go to was closed. Thankfully, there are lots of places in Mira Mesa. Tasty Pot is a casual hot pot place, and it's served in individual portions rather than AYCE; it's very convenient because, sometimes, you're just not in the mood for buffet-style. I ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Hot Pot, whereas my friends got the Curry Flavor and the Lamb with a side of skewers. You order using a QR code at your table, and it is very user-friendly. Our food came out shortly after, arriving in sizzling pots encased in decorative trays. There were even little fires underneath, which could be adjusted depending on your preferences. BTW, they can add water to your broth if it starts to evaporate as you're eating. Now, onto the review of the food itself. I really enjoyed my kimchi dumpling hot pot!! There was a huge variety of different toppings, like fish cakes, rice cakes, veggies, seafood, and dumplings. Honestly, I believe that this is a way better deal than malatang. The broth was perfect for a cold night, and it probably helped that we were all starving. If I came back, I would order the curry-flavored broth; I tried my friend's, and it was so savory and delicious!! I was worried it would be thick (which would be weird for hot pot), but it's not at all. Service-wise, the employees were very kind and helpful, even when we made a mistake ordering. You might place the order yourself, but they were always attentive, checking in on us, explaining how the hot pot here is, refilling our waters/broths, etc. Overall, I had a lovely time at Tasty Pot, and I'll definitely be back again! read more

We came here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The servers are very kind and attentive. The ambiance is welcoming and the outdoor patio seating is lit up at night. The perfect restaurant for a personal hotpot! * Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup (Medium w/ Taiwanese Soup) - 9/10 (i love how they fill your pot with a variety of beef, fish cakes, & many more! there's three really big beef dumplings & lot of kimchi. you can also choose between side of vermicelli noodles or rice, & i chose the vermicelli that paired really well in this soup. this is my go-to pot here! ~tine) * Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup - 9.3/10 (i thought the broth was really flavorful. i am a big fan of all the cabbage they give you. the meat was on the leaner side so some pieces were tough. i am a big fan of the other toppings; my favorite included the beef tendons & blood cake. service here is always on point & the dipping sauces were delicious. definitely better than boiling point! ~jerm) read more

First time here having my 2 besties meet and treating them to lunch . As soon as I walked in was greeted by Anthony . He was very friendly and helpful with our questions. I ordered the Taiwanese supreme spicy hot soup spice level mediums and my one bestie ordered the beef hot soup soup no spice and my other bestie ordered the curry flavor hot soup not sure if no spice or mild . We ordered tiger pearl milk with boba, mango green tea and mango black tea with boba. Everything tasted great and a very pleasurable experience with my 2 best friends. Great as always. I believe this is truly a great starting point for someone starting out with hot pot or even experienced pros! Prior to discovering Tasty Pot, I have tried other hot pots and its not as straight forward--maybe I experience decision fatigue and this place takes all of the many decisions away. I've invited my friends here and it seems to be our usual when we are having dinner! The service is top notch! The staff members are extremely attentive and friendly. Food came out hot and fast and very delicious, I got the flaming spicy sichuan flavor hot soup and my friend got the lamb. Both were very good and reasonably priced. Lots of random goodies to eat like tofu, veggies, meatballs, fishballs etc. Staff super friendly would recommend and come back if we're in the area :) Make sure you confirm their promos are still valid(if they have any). I got the ube frappe because it was part of a promo deal that apparently expired last week and wouldn't still be comped even though it was still on their menu. My fault for not asking before ordering I guess. read more

Chill pre-made hot pot. Feels like portions have gotten a lil smaller over the years but in this economy? I understand. Flavors were chill, broth was chill, and we got these skewers but it took basically our whole meal to arrive, that was not chill. read more

Came here for a casual hot pot meal and overall had a good experience. The food quality was solid, ingredients seemed fresh, portions were generous, and the pricing felt fair for what you get. I personally don't love the pre-set hot pot format since I prefer customizing my ingredient mix, but that's just a personal preference. That said, the Thai base soup was a great! I do wish they had more dipping sauce options as well since it was fairly limited (3 options provided on the table and I believe onlh 2 additional add-ons for a price). Ambience is casual and comfortable, nothing fancy but clean and easy for a hot pot dinner. Service was okay. While staff was polite, it was a bit difficult to flag someone down for broth and water refills. Overall, a good option if you're in the area, especially if you enjoy pre-set hot pot combos and bold soup bases. The lobster hot pot which I didn't get did seem like pretty great value! read more

I was getting sad thinking I wasn't going to find a decent spot for hot pot in SD but I think this place is great! I've been 2x already for a weekday lunch and it's great because they give you a free green or black tea, which is delicious! The broth and sauces are good, all the things they put in the pot are good (for me) and the workers are all extremely friendly. The value is great as well - I leave feeling full after lunch for ~$23 total for the food, drink, and tip. This will likely be my go to hotpot spot due to the value and taste. read more
My all time favorite personal hot pot with the right amount of meat and vegetables. This is our go to hot pot when we're craving a delicious broth meal. I have tried their Beef pot and the Seafood too. Both were delicious. The servers are always nice and friendly. Our drink favorite is their Mango Sago. Another great place for big parties. read more
This was my first experience having hot pot! I ordered the Japanese miso hot soup since it had a wide variety of food in it, including udon. I also got to pick vermicelli or rice to add in. The meat and broth were really good, but I didn't like some of the things in it like the seaweed and seafood. It was a huge portion though. If you want comforting, consistent and reliable Taiwanese hot pot, Tasty Pot is the place! I've been coming to Tasty Pot for years and it always delivers. They offer a variety of individual hot pots but my favorites are the beef hot pot and kimchi dumpling hot pot. Their hot pots come loaded with proteins and you can choose to have it with rice or noodles. I like that they offer you free tea with your meal and you can change the soup base on their hot pot menu items. They also have 3 sauces on the table, last time I went they had: chili oil, garlic soy, and soybean. There is a lot of (indoor and outdoor) seating and I've never had to wait too long for a seat. Service is quick although the workers aren't always super attentive depending on when you come in. read more
Love coming here when I'm too lazy to cook my own meat like at other hot pot spots. Everything comes out ready to eat, you just order from your phone and the service is always quick. Their drinks are super tasty too. Easy, convenient, and always hits the spot! read more

yes they have fried rice, noodles and chicken for toddlers

All the pots soup base are pork and chicken,the veggie will be vegetarian.

No, they utilize the "fivestars" program. You can exchange points for a free drink or I think they had a phone holder for your car last time I was in. I usually save 10 points so I can get a free hotpot. https://www.fivestars.com/
Are the servings large enough to share? Do they allow sharing? Curious if 2 orders would be enough for 3 people.
