I am thankful that I have been blessed to have Tasty Boy available for my entire life! They have always been the best donuts around. The lemon and Bavarian cream donuts are the best. Stopped in for a donut with my son. We both had an apple fritter and he also had a cinnamon roll. Both of these were really big, almost the size of a head. They were really good and at $3.00 ea not too bad. They have a nice display of there different donuts. read more

My hubby and I were craving doughnuts. They lived up to the name tasty. We purchased a dozen and got an assortments. I'm pretty boring I love glazed it had a soft glaze on the outside and the donut was moist like a cake. My husband got the fritters, they were pretty big and tasted soft like they were freshly made. This quaint little coffee shop located on Telegraph rd in Flat Rock, next door to the Pet Supply store, has been doing something right for decades, serving the community with delicious doughnuts and good, hot coffee! I remember going there after school for a tasty doughnut to eat for the walk home, I could of taken the bus home since it was quite a walk, it was so worth it! When driving to my job I passed a doughnut shop in Wyandotte called Honey Bee Bakery, they made the very best delicious Apple Fritters I ever tasted, all their doughnuts were good, sadly the owners retired, but the memory of that fritter still lingers! I must admit and give credit when credit is due, Tasty Boy makes awesome Apple Fritters, I would say a great replacement in fact. They are so darn good and addicting, just writing this review makes me start swallowing hard!! LOL They make two sizes, smaller for the sensible eater, and jumbo for the eater that can't get enough of that crusty outer layer and that inside doughnut that tastes like budda, that's short for butter! Me, I just go for it it and treat myself to hummer size large one, not an inch of guilt! On Fat Tuesday they only sell Pounski doughnuts, imagine a holiday for us doughnut lovers, Polish people know how to eat good dessert! They sell an array of fillings, mine being raspberry topped with powdered sugar, OMG, I feel like I have died and gone to Hog Heaven. Next year, try one, they are awesome. The inside hasn't been updated in a while and definitely has the old-school donut shop feel. I've never had a better donut. I am a donut connoisseur and the only place that ever came close was a shop in Redondo Beach CA. My family has moved south and they demand I bring a dozen every time I visit. Not only is the taste extraordinary but the size and density is unrivaled. A dozen from Dunkin Donuts or Kristen Kreem feels like a box of air compare to these. All that and the owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I love donuts. Im pretty sure someone at some point looked at my larger frame and thought "Now there's a guy who likes donuts". I often drive out of my way to try a donut place which has been easier working midnight as these places open and close very early. I heard Tasty Boy had really good French crullers which are getting harder to find. I love crullers. Im fairly certain Tasty Boy was once an old Amy Joy. Im also certain the decor here has not changed in over 50 years. Metal swivel chairs! I love vintage Americana. Good but not great donuts. I've had better crullers but the apple fritter was up there with the best. A fairly large variety. I will return and update if my opinion changes. read more
