The fish was just above room temperature, the potatoes were almost warm (yet not quite), and the apples were actually served fresh and semi-hot. They have gone away from canned biscuits now, so that is a plus. Our waitress dropped the ticket on the table mid-meal and never returned. Since its fairly hard to digest a meal with-out anything to drink, I had to run another waitress down to refill my drink. She happily obliged and earned our full tip for the evening. To sum it up, not much has changed over the past year and a half. While it's not really Rocket Science to serve a freshly prepared hot meal to your patrons, for some peculiar reason it continues to be just beyond their desire to do so.

The floor behind the counter where the cook and staff are was very dirty with food on the floor including onions, egg shells and more. The food, well bless our cooks heart he just couldn't get it right. I ordered a large bacon and the bacon was very over cooked to a dark brown to black. Our hash browns were over cooked and burnt. I ordered a 3 eggs cheese steak omelet "old fashioned" and it came regular cooked and not what I ordered. We both had tea and asked for lemons and at first the waitress said they were out. Well, they just didn't have any cut and she didn't want to do it. I hinted at her nicely that she definitely needed to cut a few lemons and she reluctantly did it but had an attitude about it. We had one in the town we were staying in, but never got around to stopping. On our way out and on our way home we decided to give this a go as our late breakfast/lunch. It was easy to find and park. We walk in and right up to the counter and prepared for our show...I mean meal. Once we got to the counter and started looking over the menu the show started. It was quite entertaining watching the crew interact with one another. They were selecting the songs on the jukebox and jamming out to it as they had this store under control and working smoothly. I even caught myself laughing with other patrons as they were joking with one another. I knew I wanted Biscuits and Gravy, but I saw the hashbrown bowls and decided I'd go with one of those too, with sausage. My Dad went with one of their general breakfasts that came with a waffle. The food was what I expected and I really can't say much that hasn't been said by other people that have reviewed any Waffle House out there. What I enjoyed was the lively atmosphere. Being able to see that chef quickly get through the orders right in front of you. The servers were buzzing about like worker bees, and that's not because of the black and yellow coloring. Was it memorable? A bit, the first time eating at one, and the overall fun of the place.
