Came here for a bachelorette party and was sadly disappointed. The service was great and we got our food so fast; the restaurant looked very nice and vibes were great. For the most part the food was good; bread and butter and seafood dip was very good but the sushi was way too much rice to filling ratio and other food was just ok. The drink were what were really lacking. We ordered a few espresso martini mock tails and were served in tall soda glasses with chocolate syrup; it was just watered down coffee with tons of ice. Honestly very difficult as people who are sober. The other martinis were very disappointing as a restaurant who specializes in them. The alcoholic espresso martini was not made as usual and had no foam and grainy coffee grounds instead of beans. Just expected more from this place. read more

If you are looking for a tapas and martini bar in South Haven, look no further than Taste. They have the most enticing martinis on the menu accompanied with some tantalizing selection of tapas. I tried the green tea martini and it was wonderful. Too bad it had to be served on a plastic cup but the taste was sti fantastic! I enjoyed my martini choice tremendously. My husband had a cocktail. We shared some Korean BBQ chicken which easily became my favorite. The chicken was cooked nicely, served over a bed of rice and covered with some crunchies and green onions. We also shared a sausage over some spatzel which was also delicious, some scallops scampi, and some filet bites. Surprisingly, my least favorite were the filet bites. They weren't as flavorful as I expected them to be but my husband enjoyed them. The staff were friendly, they followed COVID protocol, required a mask for entry into their restaurant, their staff wore masks and they sanitized spaces after use. Visiting the area for the weekend and we happened upon this gem. We ordered the ribs, seafood dip, Pumpkin Bisque, and the cookie skillet. Everything was delicious! The Pumpkin Bisque was my absolute favorite. I had been walking around South Haven on a cold windy rainy-ish day and it was such a comfort. It truly tasted of Fall! We started with the pear and blue cheese salad - fine, but nothing special - and the hummus. Loved the hummus and that you can order with cucumbers instead of crackers. We fought over the last piece of blackened chicken in a fennel cream sauce - so tasty! The jerk shrimp with coconut sauce was as delish as always as was the well seasoned beef tenderloin bites. All of this is celiac friendly (gluten free) as well! You can sit outside when the weather is nice which is an added bonus. read more

The atmosphere here is very trendy and touristy. Just love it. We had the Lobster Roll and Parm Turkey. The wife had the turkey and she said it was wonderful. I have to say that my Lobster Roll was the best I have ever had. It was like dying and going to heaven! Absolutely delicious. The service was good and friendly. Atmosphere, as I mentioned, good. We had a great time after a string of disappointing meals at other South Haven restaurants. The start of the evening was a wait. 45 minutes was the estimate which came out to 40 min and they gave us a 10 minute window to get back so we didn't have to just sit outside or risk losing the table. This is a cute restaurant to go to if you eat outside. The inside, in my opinion, was way too dark and tables too close together. We had to put our name on a wait list 1.5 hours before we were notified that our table was ready. It was nice that we were able to keep track of where we were on the wait list on our phone, so we went to a local bar in the meantime. When our table was ready, it was about 8:30pm, and we asked to sit outside (which they accommodated). Service was very slow, but very polite and helpful. We were a table of four and shared the following: - Goat Cheese & Beet Salad: Refreshing and a good portion to split. I enjoyed the dressing as well. - Crispy Artichokes: You can't go wrong with crispy artichoke hearts. I recommend getting them, although they aren't very special per say. - Mac & Cheese: This was a favorite! VERY cheesy..so be prepared! - Bay Scallops Scampi: The sauce was decent. We liked dipping the bread in sauce and the scallops were just ok. Some were chewy - Blue Gill: Surprisingly pretty good. We enjoyed the sauce that came with it - Seafood Dip: This was the group's favorite! Definitely recommend getting this. - Potato Pancakes: We weren't a fan of these. I am a local who has been going to Taste since they opened-- for YEARS. Tonight my friend and I got dinner and a few drinks, each spent close to $100 each. I asked for a last drink and our checks, we had been at the table for maybe an hour fifteen, it was busy but not crazy. Right after I got my drink and we cashed out, the manager rudely came over and said that there was a reservation for our table and we needed to leave and that I could get my drink put in a to go cup. Mind you - we weren't warned when we were seated, when we got food, or when I ordered that last drink that someone was waiting on our table. I have been such a taste fan for over a decade and have never been treated so rudely before. I am so disappointed. It wasn't a 'someone had a bad day' situation, nor did they rush anyone else that was sitting and talking. Apparently they were more concerned about turning a table than taking care of their customers. Will think twice about coming again unless it is dead of winter. read more

We got there one day before they closed for remodeling. I had the beef sandwich. Oh my gosh. I didn't think I would eat all of it. I was cleaning my plate. And I ordered a side of the tomato bisque soup. SO full of flavor. My husband got the turkey sandwich with fries. His fries were a little cool and the aluminum stick to the sandwich from pressing the sandwich but we got it off. He likes the sandwich but wished he'd gotten a burger. All in all, great place.
