This is a great find! Staying at the Delta on business, the only decent spot for coffee and a light breakfast is Starbucks. Taste of Splendour is a quick two minute walk down Sumner. They are located in the first building in right, right at the end of Sumner. But a major draw back is that there is NO signage anywhere. Enter the building (office building) and find 105! These pics should help. Open from 7-4 daily. Great espresso and coffee!

They have so many salt bread flavours and I wanted to try them all. We ended up getting the strawberry and tiramisu. The cream was light and not overly sweet. I was expecting the bread to be a little softer but it has more of a firm, chewy texture. They have bundle deal which I noticed too late . It's a better value if you get 4 or 6 instead of buying them individually. Their latte was also really smooth and easy to drink. The roast wasn't too bitter, which made it a nice pairing with the sweet buns.

Customers were mixed in age and ranged from laptop users to families/couples chatting. The man who took my order was very kind. A range of tempting pastries and sandwiches were on display. I chose the butter paneer wrap, a slice of strawberry NY cheesecake, and a strawberry matcha bubble tea. The wrap was huge! The filling was very flavourful, spicy but not extremely "hot". The cheesecake was very dense, which is definitely the right way to do a NY cheesecake but after the paneer wrap it was almost too much for me... that's my own fault for not thinking through what I was ordering. I really liked the strawberry topping, which tasted like homemade strawberry jam with big strawberry slices. The strawberry matcha also was great, it had a nice layer of sweet and vibrant strawberry compote on the bottom, which combined nicely with the unsweetened matcha for a balanced taste. $22 total, which was a good price for a hefty serving of quality food. If I come back, which I'm very tempted to, I will have to try one of their housemade cookies.

A lot of…read moreinteresting flavors of croissants have come out of this place these last 8 months and I missed them all. Still grieving over having missed out on the Mango Sticky Rice cube croissant! Recently they came out with a Vegan Creme Brulee croissant as well as a Vegan Bubble Tea Cube Croissant. This was too much. I couldn't take it anymore. It was time to get back to my favourite bakery and try these croissants! Got there around 8:50am on a Saturday morning about one day before the last day of their Bubble Tea Cube Croissant which was a limited time creation for the Vancouver Croissant Crawl. Sooo creative. It was filled with black tea cream and brown sugar caramel, dipped in white chocolate and topped with tea whip, more caramel and brown sugar boba. There was a small little straw sticking out the top to give it that whimsical bubble tea look. The Creme Brulee Croissant. I had a sneaking suspicion that by the time I brought this home and by the time both my husband and daughter were up, and ready to partake in eating this one with me, the hard sugar topping would no longer be hard. Unfortunately, I was right about this. The sugar had gone soft by the time we sat down to have this. Not any fault of the bakery though. As I said, I had my suspicions about this. I have made creme brulee myself, a number of times over the years. There was one time I made it and took it over to a friend's home, and by the time we sat down to eat it, the sugar had gone soft. So this is why I suspected that the sugar on the Creme Brulee croissant would also be soft by the time my family was ready to eat. We tried torching it again but to no avail. So then we added a bit more sugar and then torched it again. The new layer of sugar helped, and hardened after we torched it. Mmmm...so yummy! I loved the Creme part of it. Even without the hard layer of sugar on top, this croissant was still divine. Our daughter preferred the Bubble Tea Cube Croissant but personally I preferred this Creme Brulee Croissant. Wish they would keep this croissant around forever. I'd love to go back and eat it fresh in the store next time!

It was kind of chilly inside because they had the door propped open despite it being cold out, but I can imagine it might have been stuffy for the staff in the kitchen area. The barista was very nice! I got the Sooyo croissant, an egg tart, and a milk tea. I loved the Sooyo croissant - I'm weak to the brie/fig combo and this had just the right balance of all the ingredients on a warm and soft croissant. The egg tart was also really nice with a hint of cinnamon. It was bite-sized which was good for a small treat. I also loved the milk tea. It was very strong, and the brown sugar syrup enhanced the flavour! It was worth the trip for me for a relaxing snack stop!

The menu has shrunk considerably and their business days/hours are also a lot less than what it was previously. The drinks were not as tasty as they used to be. My Blue Rose drink was the best of the bunch and I would say even that was just OK. I enjoyed the Lychee jelly in my drink. That was probably the best part of the drink. The liquid part was kinda "meh" for me. I think the best thing we ordered was the matcha soft serve ice cream. On the flip side, there was a guy playing piano there and they were taking requests. I suggested Demon Slayer and the guy played the famous "Gurenge" song by Lisa from season one of Demon Slayer. That was kinda cool. He was a very good pianist. Great way to liven the atmosphere. Also, there was a guy who came around and gave us all tiny paper cranes. It's nothing much, but still always nice to be gifted with anything at all. Business must be hard for them. It would sure be nice to see them return to how they used to be, with a bigger menu, tastier drinks and more days/hours again. We love this place for the manga/ anime vibes that it exudes, and love the Matcha soft serve ice cream they sell here. Really wanna give this place a higher rating but the drinks were really not up to par this time, and as much as we love the Matcha ice cream, it is not by itself enough to warrant giving out a higher rating. If they could just improve the quality of their drinks again...then even if they menu remains limited, at least if everything they serve is of good quality...that would be enough to merit a higher rating.

I was glad to visit on a Sunday morning while taking a walk with my boyfriend in his neighbourhood. When we arrived, it was quite busy. The coffee shop is small, but charming with limited seating available. The menu mainly contains basic coffee shop items as well as a variety of baked goods. We ordered an iced specialty coffee with ice cream and a small latte. I also chose the Tiramisu danish and we nibbled on it while waiting for our coffee. The danish was suggested by the cashier as one of the more popular items. She was completely right, because this baked treat was heavenly. The outside was like a croissant, flakey and buttery and paired with a delicious tiramisu custard on the inside. We also grabbed a scone for our walk home (which turned out to be delicious as well). The shop also sells local artisanal goods such as chocolate, sauces, and even loaves of bread. It's nice to gander around while waiting for your order. We enjoyed our coffee on the walk back home. The coffee is quite strong, which would be optimal for most coffee lovers. The flavour was deep and chocolate-y, but not bitter at all. I read on their site that they regularly rotate their bean selection. I would love to return to try more of their food items!
