Doesn't seem like authentic Indian. First off, the rice is never basmati..... and the flavors aren't that strong. Disappointing. But still better than a home cooked meal, maybe. It's just a TASTE of India *sweat drop smile emoji*

Amazing food. Rice. Naan bread. Jeera Aloo, vegetable samosas.

I moved up north from the Bronx. I've always been a fan of Indian cuisine. I tried so many different spots and nothing ever comes close to the aloo jeera from home. I came across Taste of India last night and they didn't have what I wanted on the menu but they said they're still able to make the dish. I almost cried with how delicious this jeera aloo was. I can not even describe the wonderful flavors I was blessed with last night. The samosas are incredible and the naan bread is soft. This place just won a customer for life. Wonderful flavors and amazing people. Five stars! Picture: Please forgive my setup, it was a last minute meal and I had to take a quick shot before devouring this meal.

This place defines the term "family restaurant," it is run by a family of four that's dishing out delicious curries but still trying to figure out how to run a restaurant. I visited on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not very busy, the sever seated me and then proceeded to apologize for almost everything moving forward, you could tell he was a little nervous about the restaurant. I ordered Vegetable Pakora and Lamb Vindaloo. The Pakora came out quickly but despite being listed as mixed vegetables, was really just some broccoli and mostly potatoes deep fried in chickpea flour. Most pakora I've had in the past will be more of a blend of vegetables as fritters, not just deep fried whole vegetables. I would probably skip getting these. The Lamb Vindaloo on the other hand was tangy and full of warm Indian spices. It came out quickly after the pakora and was not mouth-numbingly hot like some other vinadloos. The lamb was extremely tender which was a great change from most Indian restaurants where the meat will be overcooked quickly. At the end of the meal, I tried to pay but the credit card machine was not working. Definitely bring cash and maybe wait a week or so to let the family refine a few things.

Spilled food I was called a liar about by the manager

Ordered the chicken tikka masala, it was watery and flavorless. Naan was not crispy and hardly any garlic flavor, plain.

Should have checked Yelp. A barely touched lamb birani and goat with spinach now sits in out trash. Even the gulab jamun was inedible.

Lemme start off by saying the service was unreliable lol…read more We walked in on a Sunday, and no one was there. Eventually I heard voices in the back kitchen so I went there myself to ask them if they were open. Then I got myself some menus and sat down. I ordered our drinks by walking up to the bartender bc he wasn't coming towards us. They were nice but def not really attentive. We ordered a bunch of food, and most of it was decent, some of it ive had way better like tamarind or dosa grill. I think I would give this place one more try - I just will not dine in again for a while lol.

So, this place is new in the area. I decided to place an online order which was perfectly seamless…read more It said the order would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and went in. No staff in sight. I waited a few minutes before noticing a paper bag on a shelf by the counter. Sure enough it had my name on it so I took it and left. I got 2 chicken Samosas and the Aloo Tikki Chaat. The samosas were pretty horrible. The flavor was there, but they were so dry that I can't believe they were fresh. I mean like Sahara dry. The Aloo was REALLY good. 1st time ever having it and I was pleased. The portion was enormous! The samosas were huge too, but you know - they didn't taste good. I ate one and threw the other one in the trash. I hate wasting food but they are borderline inedible - the chicken has the consistency of saw dust. The restaurant looked really clean, so that was a plus. I would have like to comment on the staff, but I didn't see any. They also have a full bar... Took 1 star for the samosa and another for the lack of staff.

It's the best thing I've seen and the smell of the rice is very fragrant, very aromatic! The ambiance of the location itself is cute and very clean. Ran by a couple that prepares all the food from-scratch, including the Mango Lassi. The beverage tasted like it was made not even 5 minutes before I got there, it felt like biting into a mango. I also purchased masala chai tea to brew at home. They also sell fresh okra and curry leaves to cook with- unheard of around this ares outside of farm stands. For anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions, they said everything is kept kosher and halal, no shared bakeware for meats and vegetable dishes.

I order the butter chicken, chicken Marsala, plain naan and a mango drink they made in house. The two chicken entrees seemed more on the watery side than a gravy consistency. They were also more on the bland side with the say flavor other than that the spices were spicing lol. The mango drink was definitely delicious it was like a mango yogurt but more liquidity. I didn't get to take photos I should've did that. And also I bought a Coca Cola in the glass bottle and it wasn't a screw off so I wasn't able to bring it due to me not having a bottle opener nor did they offer to take it off for me.

Ate here with my family, this place is worth a visit despite the restaurant's very basic name~…read more We liked the vegetable jalfrezi (vegan), chana shaag (vegan), paneer tikka masala. These three dishes all tasted different flavor-wise. We made sure to thank the chef personally. My dad (who loves Indian food) said he always felt Indian dishes tasted similar until he ate these. In addition, we also ordered a small naan which was a thicker dough consistency and matched very well with the other dishes we ordered. Taking one star off only due to the time it took for them to cook everything (I know it's served fresh) and I couldn't really taste the difference personally between other Indian restaurants? Dad raved about it, so this review will be slightly biased..

I've been here years ago (like around 15+ years ago) had a bad experience then... And decided to…read moregive it another go recently a few months ago... It was bad then... And it was probably one of the most awful experiences again, years later, that I've had to date. We stopped in for lunch. Firstly... They could not be bothered to turn the lights on for us, and sat us near a window for light. Ambiance points: awful. Fine... Then ordering food. We ordered a variety of things. I ordered a coconut soup... It was like warm and... It was literally cream of coconut from a can, no seasoning... Served Luke warm. No seasoning, but I paid like $6-8 for a van of what probably costed $1-2. We asked for naan. Now typically... I thought that when you get naan, that it comes with sauces or salsas or things to put on it... We got the condiments... But no naan... Our food arrived, and... We figured we would put the condiments on rice or other things we ordered because... Naan never came.... So THIS is the worst part... The waiter, polite, takes the condiments away... And puts it onto another table of folks that just came in, and after taking away the condiments brings us our naan... Plain.... No nothing to go with it... But brought it all for other folks to enjoy. I guess we were less than worthy or something. Now remember that... The key thing is that... He took the open air condiments away. Condiments that one would think are given to per table per customer. Condiments that... You would obviously think that were meant for your individual party to enjoy because other folks would get their own to enjoy with their meal, and having interest to try other condiments there and were not given extra utensils, you use your own spoon or fork that you've eaten from to apply more of the ingredients given to you using what you were initially given to apply the dressings.... Well... We were trying in hood faith to enjoy our meal as we could, exploring the different flavors with spoons or forks that we've already been eating off of... To have the waiter come by, smile, take away the dips, and give them to the customers who came in after, leaving them to think that they are receiving a fresh clean plate that they can eat with confidence. It's like, taking away your half eaten plate, and handing it out to unsuspecting people who think they are getting a quality dish just for them. The food was not great. I felt it was mediocre... I've made better Indian food at home from buying a jar of curry to add to my dish. I don't know what these people on these reviews here ate and how they are ranting about how great it was, but my experience was totally awful. I've eaten there before, had a bad time, gave them another chance, had a worst time. The health department should go in to have a look at what is being conducted in there. If you like Indian food, I can't recommend this place. Go anywhere else but here.
