I actually like this Target because of the location and I really only come here for everyday staples, not to shop and browse. This review is based solely on the woman that works the register. As long as she has been working here, she has a horrible attitude. Anytime I am even at self check out, she stares at me with this look of disgust and doesn't stop until I look away because I'm so uncomfortable. Even when I smile and say hi, I get the same treatment. I spend HUNDREDS of dollars at this location monthly, finally left a review about this woman because enough is enough. I certainly don't want anyone to lose their job, but come on, being kind is seriously not that hard. If it happens again, I'll just go else where. read more

It's almost insulting that a place like this even exists in the world today. Target is my favorite store ever I always love going to a target whenever I'm home. However this target made me rethink my love for their franchise. This target as a range of problems that seem so clear as soon as you walk in. Size: I don't judge them on the size of the target at all I am judging on who decided to open such a small one in a small space. Clearly it could've been put in a better sized area then this. Boxes: This store felt to me that it just opened its doors for the first time a hour ago. Probably due to the size of the store but there is boxes everywhere walk 2 inches and there is another one. Barely a good selection: This store barely even has a island truly and with that comes the lack of any worthy inventory to purchase. It felt like they just throw out whatever was in the back and put it for sale. Do better than this target please read more

Remember that Walmart Neighborhood Market in the back of the big plaza at Bishop's Corner? It closed a few years ago, but rising from the corporate ashes in that busy part of town comes another retail behemoth, because Target has opened a new store there. They had just been open for a day when we walked in Sunday afternoon. It looks a lot like the Targets we've grown accustomed to, like the one up in Windsor or in Newington or New Britain. Maybe this one is a teense smaller, but nothing dramatically so. Same great selection of clothing, home goods, kitchen and dining, and of course... food and groceries. One nice feature we saw was a door-buster welcome special - a 24-pack of Crayola crayons for just fifty cents a pop. We scooped up fifty boxes to donate to charity. It had been a while since I visited a Target, and this one gave us a really nice shopping experience. The store was neat and immaculate, the shelved goods, refrigerated and freezer cases were loaded, and everyone was super pleasant. I know we will be back a lot. read more

We're all familiar with Target. Target sells everything. I like the smaller Target in West Hartford, because it's so convenient. I popped in here multiples of times when I'd remember I need that one random thing and I know Target has it. I recently needed contacts solution in the tiniest bottle, Target had it. I try not to go here to just walk around, that will dig a big hole in my pocket for sure. Since this is a smaller store, the selection is limited, but so is the crowd, the line and the wait. Majority of the time I'll find what I need in this store. It's also much cleaner and shelves look presentable, unlike the larger stores. The staff isn't always knowledgeable about where things are located, but they do try. There are a several grocery stores in this area, and Target also offers some groceries. It's easy to stop at Target and pick up milk and cereal, rather then going to a bigger store and dealing with parking, waiting, isles, isles and isles and other things that take time. It's much quicker at Target, assuming their limited selection will satisfy your needs. This is a small convenient Target to the Bishop's Corner area in West Hartford that will probably carry all of the everyday basic necessities you may need. So just a disclaimer- I love Target, everyone loves Target. This review is solely based on a negative customer service experience I had today...not on the magic of Target. So I am home with a newborn and decided to try ordering some home essentials through the drive up option at Target. The ordering was fine. When I went to pick up the order, the woman was not friendly- just scanned the barcode, put the bag in the car, walked away. No big deal. I got home and noticed I was missing the two bottles of Tide laundry detergent I ordered. I was put on hold for 10 mins, and the call was disconnected. I called back and the same woman answered saying "we need more time to figure out what happened." She put me back on hold and after 10 mins said they have it and I can pick up today or tomorrow. I said I would be there in 5 mins and they said call when I'm there. I called 3x and got no answer. I waited 15 minutes and then had to send my husband as I had my baby in the car. My husband said when he went to pick up he had to ask twice before anyone helped him. I wasn't upset that they forgot items- just infuriating the way it was handled. read more

I was highly disappointed going here. From the outside this target seemed lovely but as you walk in it is a mess. The isles where tight and unorganized and they literally have nothing. Just a fair warning there is no books or music isle. This was the first target ever that I have walked out with nothing. DO BETTER TARGET read more

This store changed to cashless so when I went to the checkout they said "we only accept card payments". I was so angry but anger under control. I told them you wasted my time. Also this lgbtq+a.i. in this store chain is out of control. I can't take my children to a store like this. They have unisex bathrooms which I won't use nor ever let my children of grandchildren use. I'm boycotting this store just due to the Sodomite catering and bathrooms besides the cashless system. read more

Maybe my frustration is from a very specific situation, but it's frustrating none the less. My partner and I both work at tax exempt institutions and he will often do his shopping there. We've done many trips there and although their tax exempt process is cumbersome, it's never really been an issue. Today, we were getting items for an event and per usual, the cashier had no idea how to do tax exempt. She called someone else over, and they started the process. While the second person was doing it, a third person came over and demanded we present the certificate. It was in the car because we've done tax exempt purchases probably 12 times since they've opened, and the tax exempt number printed on the corporate credit card has always been enough. Today, they wanted the certificate. I ran out to the car to get it. I was gone less than a minute but in that minute, while my partner was still waiting at the register, they suspended the transaction. Then we had to wait for someone else to be run up, which we did. Then the second employee starts entering the information on the screen off the certificate they demanded completely wrong. The certificate was issued by the State of Connecticut, but they were entered as the purchaser, although they weren't. Kevin Lembo was entered as the person doing the purchasing, but he issued it. They misspelled everything on the screen. It was actually kind of funny. It's clear that they need more training on how these things work. And it's also clear that they need more training in general as their practices seem to be very cumbersome and inconsistent with what is required. It often makes other customers mad at us because they don't know what they're doing, and then we end up feeling like we're doing something wrong. This clearly isn't the type of customer service experience anyone desires and for the amount of money we spend there both personally and professionally we definitely expect more. read more

I never intend on going here again. I was excited to hear about a Target coming to West Hartford, and couldn't wait to go to this one when it opened. I went there today with a list of five things to get that I normally purchase at the New Britain location, and left with nothing. Narrow isles, dark in some places, very poor selection of items. It felt like a Kmart to me, if they were still around. Can barely squeeze two carts into an isle. Some you can't. I selected a substitute for one thing I would normally buy, but went to check out- lines were too long, and self check out was long as well. Just put it on a shelf and walked out. Couldn't pay me to come back here. This store shouldn't be allowed to call itself a Target. read more

I was so excited that there was a Target opening on this side of town. But I've been somewhat disappointed. The pros are it's clean, there's ample parking, and it's nicely laid out. The cons are that it's too small, so they are very limited on items, and I feel that they have devoted too much of the space to grocery. There are plenty of grocery stores nearby, I wish they had less food and more of the items that aren't otherwise conveniently available nearby. read more

This place has been the best in the beginning until I had to see from myself what I have seen and been told it's very unorganized and the employee are very choosy on who they want to favor more and I mean color wise last time I go there the first time I ignored the employee staring at my partner and I was pissed at the look she was giving him and then a second time I'm with my sister and I could see the security guard staring at my cart as if I'm not in front of people and now today I wanted to see if security is following me and he was he was eyeing me the whole time wasn't the first but definitely is the last as I had to approach him in a more aggressive way by saying why is you following me for a unorganized lil store it should be closed it's barely anything there went there yesterday and it was barely a cashier even open and I had a lot of stuff but today was just unacceptable completely feel harassed wouldn't recommend it read more
