Can feel the wood through the cushion. - Recliners squeaked badly when reclining - Frame began to fail with one side deforming out of alignment with the other side. -Lithium grease used to lubricate moving joints leaked onto LVP flooring causing permanent staining. All of these things led to a replacement. Steinhafels told me the replacement was "being offered as a courtesy and would be the only option available given how long the product has already been in the home." The company feels that they are providing a courtesy when replacing a defective product well within the warranty period. A company which feels it is doing you a favor by standing behind a warranty is not one I choose to do business with.

It was very firm to start with, but cushions started breaking down within 5 months. The end I sit on sits crooked. Not good for a person with back problems. Also the fabric is showing signs of wear. We are a retired couple, so it hasn't been abused. When you put the footrest down it clunks. Technician came out and said it needs multiple things. He's ordering the parts. Told me they would be here in 6 months, if I'm lucky. Then he will have to take half of the sectional into the shop to fix it because there's so many problems. What the heck am I supposed to do, sit on the floor. And Steinhafels won't do anything. I told them that I would take a prorated amount just to get something to sit on. They refused. Needless to say, we won't be shopping at Steinhafels ever again.

I would like to update my review. I did have the sofa redone at your shop. I had another chair recovered in velvet at Calico Corners in Wilmette and it does not attract dust and lint at all so it is not necessarily a function of all velvets. You were not nearly as helpful as you sound here on yelp when I had these complaints after the sofa was done. You' were completely unresponsive and refused to assist any further. At minimum, the sofa should've been comfortable and you definitely did mislead me on your product.

The store itself is very clean and well-kept, but I felt like the selection was really slacking. Tons of shelves and section were completely empty. And many items they did have seemed on the cheap side. However I will say my kiddos were very enthralled with the giant (and I mean GIANT) blow up lawn decor selection. Santa, snowmen, Grinch, rudolph and more. Definitely come here if these are what you're after. In general though, this maybe just not the spot for holiday shopping for me, and instead referring here for more general home-needs.
