Although the store was not closing for another hour and a half (and no other customers were there but me) - it seemed as though they were in a bit of rush and somewhat disinterested, asking me to come back on Saturday...That's actually never happened to me before. It felt very awkward and odd. So in case you are dying to know - I did NOT go back but I DO want to thank Gorman's for working with me and welcoming me from the moment I walked in - can't wait until my new furniture is delivered! (As an aside - if you saw/remember the movie Pretty Woman when she goes to the high end clothing store but wasn't welcomed there, that's what my experience at Home Interior Warehouse in Plymouth felt like to me).

After growing tired and weary with pointing out the shabby workmanship of the Crew of this project and the lack of leadership exhibited by Nate the Supervisor of this project who employed these workers, has left me with hardwood floors laid with splinters that could cause future injury and other bad pieces laid without being fully inspected. Along with a hardwood floor covering and molding not properly connected to wall and floor, and containing gaps that can be seen through to the next level of flooring. I was told in order to correct his problem a section of the hardwood floor would have to be torn out exposing me to additional dust particles, which would affect my breathing. In addition to a two-man crew who showed no respect for my health nor my home when they stored a large power saw in the closet of one of my bed- rooms without my knowledge or permission and threw debris out onto the ground covering of my front yard, which they left until told to clean up. When I approached one of the crew members about leaving that saw in my closet and having heart and lung problems. He said,"That saw dust is not going to bother you". I found him and his comments to be discourteous and ignorant. When I called on Nate, the Supervisor to intervene,he accused me of trying to make him the "Bad Guy". When I pointed out flaws in the work,Nate said," "There was no use in my rehashing comments nobody was wrong". I have never heard of such a preposterous response. Nate refuse to be held accountable. I decided I wanted this project over and done with. ...so, I called Nate to tell him I would be in to pay off the balance due. However, while dusting my audio visual storage cabinet (1/3/23) I discovered my disc player was missing. When I reported the theft of this piece of equipment to Nate, his first response was,"It was dated equipment". Which indicated he was aware of it,and the fact that it was missing was acceptable to him because he viewed it as dated equipment. It was then that I indicated I would be making a police report. Nate then said,"He would be asking the men who laid the floor if they had seen it". But never mentions when I go in to pay off the account. Nate also refuse to sign the receipt after I paid off the account. Where he said,"He had never heard of signing a receipt". Even though there is a place for his signature on the receipt he gave to me. Again buyer beware, this is a dishonest business operation. Sue M.

Steer clear of the Ethan Allen Nacella braided wool basket weave rug if you're about to spend 2K on…read moreit and expect this rug, which the company describes as a "treasured heirloom", to look great for longer than a year and a half. A large (expensive) version of the Nacella rug comes with dozens of spots where ends of braids are joined in order to continue with the weave (not very attractive but acceptable). After some time, though, just over a year, the adhesive used to hold these braid ends together turns dark brown, almost black and looks, in dozens of places, like dirt literally. I bought rug insurance from EA that sadly doesn't cover a manufacturer defect that came to light after the manufacturer's 1 year warranty expired. (It covers only accidents.) I'm very disappointed that Ethan Allen didn't even try to stand by its product, and that my 'heirloom' rug is so flawed.

Fortunately there is a great furniture repair shop that fixed the recliner in a few minutes which probably would have taken them months. I also purchased a curio cabinet ftom them. a very expensive one, to hold my car collection. Big problems occurred. Sales person failed to tell me about weight restrictions. Anyway, when the delivery people put it together they put the weight level limits printed on the glass shelves in the back so I would not notice them. (Note: I did not notice the weight limits until the cabinet was ready to be picked up.) So after they set up the cabinet, I placed my model cars into the cabinet, and in less than one week, the glass shelves gave way. Company repair person came out 3 weeks later. and he said he could not fix the item. He told me that he could have the cabinet picked up but had no idea when. I doubted what he said based on the experience I had with the cabinet and chair because the cabinet it was completely broken. Almost all companies would not pick up an item that was very large and had a lot of damage. They would have no way to store it. I probably would not have gotten any money back either since I did not know the weight limits that the shelves could take since the delivery people put the weight limit deep inside the cabinet when they put in the shelves. Anyway, I had it picked up by a junk hauler. I recommend, that before you do anything business with this company, know everything about what you are purchasing. Do not trust their sales staff at this company to tell you all the details about what you may want to purchase because these sales people work mostly on commission.
