More times than not you will find me here than Walmart. I just love them and most times I can find what I need here. There prices can be a little higher than Walmart but there clothes are a lot better here. Yah, I buy some of my clothes here and it's so close to my house. Given that I don't live in this area, it's safe to say I will never be back to this location. Came here to raid the baby area, which was a lot nicer than the Burbank location. That did impress me. However, my views on this place quickly changed once I hit the checkout. This girl was rude, flat out mean, did not give a damn about her job whatsoever. It took everything within me to not complain about her royally to the manager. First off, she checked out and scanned taking her time. Was in no hurry, eventhough there were like 2 lines open and her line was the longest. I got a total of 4 things. I was finally next, then some lady walks in and buts in front of me to get a price comparison on an item. Did not wait in line, nothing. Now normally shouldn't the cashier tell her to wait in line? I saw her walk right in the sliding glass doors, so it wasn't like she waited in line and then was told to come back. That pissed me off so much. Finally it was my turn and I let her have it. The lady acted like I wasn't talking to her and had her head down the entire time. Then one of my items didn't have a tag on it to scan, so she sighs and then calls someone to come to the register. After 5 minutes I had to ask her what the hell was going on since she didn't tell me. She says that she needs someone to give her a price to scan, I said forget about it I just wanted to get away from her. So i checked out and left this place with no desire to ever return. I needed a professional head shot for a variety of reasons -- LinkedIn profile primarily. Most photo studios were much more expensive so I chose Target from being in the store a few times before. Making an appointment and showing up was easy. I've never used a photo studio for professional purposes and probably posed for a photo in a studio when I was a child. I found it to be a mixed experience. The studio, backdrop and photographer were good. He took a variety of photos and gave me options. His advice was limited so I went with my instincts. (Also, anyone with log-in access could download a low-res image of their photos by using PrintScreen. I'm honest so I paid but I would think a big company like Target would at least watermark their photos to require customers to purchase.) The price was sizable but I paid for his time, mostly waiting around during the day. I had a choice of $50 for two photos or $75 for three so I went with more options. That felt like a lot. Also, from looking over their site, their terms and conditions mean a limited use of the photo. I can use it for social networks but it says no commercial use -- to sell a good or service. Wait a second, I paid a lot to have them take a photo of ME in MY dress clothes and I have limited use on that photo? If I were a realtor, and I'm not, by their rules, I couldn't post that photo on my collateral or advertising? Why? May as well pay a little more for another studio and buy unlimited rights to the photo. Or have a family member take photos of me in a living room. So for the price you pay, you may as well get family photos with your kids. Look out for coupons to save a little too. read more

I still love this Target because the lines don't get as long as the other ones. It's just missing some visual appeal. I think they're starting to get better employees too. More helpful and accommodating lately. Someone please explain to me how Target even stays in business as a chain. If the Van Nuys store is any indication they shouldn't be. This place is just dreadful. Beginning with the winos, derelicts and homeless loitering in the garage, and you enter a store that is seedy and somehow reeks of stale food inside. The staff are pleasant enough. But the inventory is a testimony to overpriced garish bad taste and absurdly poor quality. China and India must love them, because most of their apparel and knockoff tech gear is from there. This is just the bottom, and there is no top. It's a study in what not to wear...and where not to go. read more

I went to this Target store last week to pick up some items and took the time to calculate to make sure I was purchasing the correct amount to be eligible for a promotion they were running. I didn't take check the receipt until later and found I had been overcharged for three bottles of laundry detergent. I called the store and was told I had to come in. Went back to the store, showed my receipt and customer service rep says she can't refund the different - but, instead, has to cancel the laundry detergent and recharge me the correct (reduced) price. Little did I know that by canceling the order - instead of being overcharged by $4.00, I now lost the promotion credit of about $12.00 - but, again, didn't realize this until I got home (store was super busy with parents getting supplies for kids going back to school). This time I filed a complaint online with Target and was pleased to receive a call the next day. This customer service rep offered to mail a Target gift card to my home so I wouldn't need to make another trip to the store, which I gratefully accepted. However, it is now one week later and I still have not received the gift card. Called the store again, had to reexplain the events and then escalate my request from "supervisor" to a manger in order to feel heard; bottom line - I need to return to the store, once again, to resolve this issue. I will NEVER shop at this Target store again; big mistake !!! read more

Avoid this place!!!! Location- hidden Target store wedged between a strip club and industrial buildings...the road has nails and glass and the parking lot is full of trash,homeless people and dudes selling fruit in the back of there trucks. Employees-Young with neck tattoos,piercings and no customer service skills whatsoever...I asked someone for help and they looked at me like I was annoying them....most of these workers are annoyed and aloof...I see them texting and horseplaying instead of seeing if a customer needs help....even when this place is slow they are slow and sometimes the employees have conversations.....there are kids running around the place and store items sometimes blocks the floors. come here if you want to shop at a store with crying kids,horrible customer service,slow checkstand read more

The exaggerations that this Target is hidden and that employees are more laid back are both untrue and quite amusing. Nothing that is one block away from Sepulveda Blvd in Van Nuys can ever be considered hidden. At this location parking/shopping is all on one level and at the Sepulveda Blvd location there's multiple levels of parking/shopping. That's the only difference between the two. They carry the same products, attract the same customers, hire the same employees and provide the same decent overall Target experience. read more

I came here to to buy some normal Christmas gifts and I stumbled upon a keurig coffee maker and they had a sale going on free gift card and a free keurig coffee pot to store coffee for multiple people. Assuming the coffee pot was in the box (since it was a big box and I've never purchased one before) I get home to open it and it's not there?! So I call back and I'm transferred where I'm told to come back and grab the item and if they don't have it in stock they will credit me a gift card and told I'll be transferred to customer service desk so they can get my name down. Right when they pick it up. Phone goes dead THEY HUNG UP! So after I call 10 TIMES. Nobody picks up. (Only reason for call I live 25 min from this target and I was in the area so I was not about to drive back to given a run around.) after 2 days I finally get through and a nice employee told me the same they will get me the pot. So I drive down there (since targets in my area said they ant honor it because it's a different store which is understandable) I driving down there and I call to verify and same employee is like yes I'll transfer you and tell them the incident and they'll get it done. I walk in with my phone getting transferred see the desk, see the employee pick up the phone and hang it up. Right in front of my eyes. Horrible, next I go in and tell them oh I thought it was in the box but apparently it's an accessory on the side I have my receipt to verify they only scanned one item the keurig and no the pot. He accuses me of lying then he states "I've never sold one of those coffee machines and I don't know if the sale but show me" so I go to show him. He's says "where's the sale?" I said it's over it's from 12-11 to 12-17 it's 12-19 today and he's like hmm weird. Repeats that If it was in the box it's manufactured problem not theirs. Again I repeat It's an accessory it doesn't come in the box. I told him open one and you'll see there's no deal to the box easy to see. He says it's against company policy and leaves and talks to a "manager" this is where it gets worse. He tells her right in front of me "he said it's an accessory and I've sold many of these and it should be in the box" after he said he didn't personally ring up any. They walk away without saying a word look at an old catalog from the week before and state exactly "well someone must of took down the sign so we can't honor it" I said " so your telling me you can't honor it because they took down the sign?! IT WAS A SALE WHY WOULD THEY KEEP IT UP AFTER HE SALE IS DONE?!" Then I go to tell her I was told I would either get the pot or get credit. She states "well you have no physical proof so I'm not going to do that. We don't give things away here. Sorry to give you the run around but that's all i can do. BOTH THE EMPLOYEE AND MANAGER DINDNT EVEN DARE TO LOOK AT MY RECIPT OR TYPE IT IN. Just ignored that fact. And stated. Well even though you bought it here you can go return it somewhere else. LIKE WTF?! You kidding me?! And even had the guts to yell "NEXT CUSTOMER IN LINE" Because of that incident I can't stand this target but I am going to get the pot, From the sale. read more

how does this target have a three star rating in the first place. If you've ever shopped at Walmart you will know what I mean when I say this. If you want to feel like you're shopping at Walmart come to this target. I walked around this entire target and not a single employee asked me if I needed help. I pull my camera out start recording and the second I start recording these men approach me. I was told I couldn't film inside of the store. So rude and so unprofessional. As a woman I was scared. I came to this target specifically to get a drink that I cannot find anywhere else. Thanks target. For the following.....I was escorted out by three men....one who claimed he was a manager he did not give me his name and even refused to give me his name. Then security Escorted me the rest of the way. Like a criminal. This area is pathetic and it's sad to see this community eat itself. I will not be returning to this location. When I called the target and asked to speak to managers I was told that no manager was available then I was told that I could speak to HR I was then told again that HR was not available and that I could call back after one. This was very poorly handled by very negligent people who should not be in those positions at all. Absolutely no customer service. None. read more

I usually come to this target because it is less crowded than the Pacoima one. This day, though, was different. I guess because it was blazing' hot the whole valley and their momma's were there. At the time of check out, it was busy, BUT they kept opening lines, which was great, but what pissed me off was that managers need to teach their cashier that when they open a line, you grab the next person in line, not the last one to make line. I had to wait FOREVER for my turn, it's like I have a curse to pick the worse damn lines, after 15 mins in line, a couple stands behind me, a cashier opened a line and grabbed them first, WTF! I was really ticked off. This is an issue so talk about it management! I used to do cashiering for 8 years and it is the right thing to do! read more

I was not satisfied with the customer service. In fact I was disappointed. I went in to purchase 2 floor lamps from Room Essentials that were advertised online for 8.99 each, however, those particular lamps were sold in store only (Online Item #: 10057456, Store Item Number (DPCI): 074-02-0411) So I went to the store on Raymer St and grabbed the only identical RE floor lamp I referenced online. The pricing was much higher 16.99, so I looked to see if I could find the 8.99 lamps. I couldn't, so I went to the register and told the clerk that I saw the same lamp online for half the cost. She directed me to the price match registers, where another clerk assisted me there. After further research they told me it was not the same lamp and they do not have anymore in the store. Not only did they not have any of those lamps in the store, they didn't have any at any surrounding stores. So I asked if the manager could price match that lamp I brought to the register because I was anticipating buying 2 of 8.99 lamps. I was denied that and left the store very unhappy. No only did I visit 2 target stores and attempted to purchase the lamps online. The manager did not wish to price match the lamp, especially since there were none of the stores in the surrounding areas that had the 8.99 lamps. The lamps should not be advertised online as store-only products when every store in a single zip code does not have the lamps in stock. Such a huge inconvenience. read more

First time here. I usually go to the one on Sepulveda. This location is really nice. The employees are nice and helpful. Store is clean. It's a little smaller than most and they don't have as many selections as other locations. The store is not located in the best area. I would not be there by yourself at late at night. read more

Yehey..I just discovered this target which is 1 mile away from me.they got everything here from fresh produce to home stuff and a lot of choices. So far they're all helpful. This Target isn't in the greatest area (ie. Raymer St and the railroad tracks) but it is very clean and organized. I've never had a problem with checking out here, as there are always enough lanes open (and the 10 items or less check out too). The food court is small, no starbucks but that's ok. Moved from the west side of the valley to the east side and this location is the closest to me. So I've been here a few times, no big deal, easy check outs and locating items. However on this particular day, I noticed an advertisement that said I would receive a $10 gift card if I purchased 3 select items on sale. Cool, I noticed that Always and Downey were part of promo so I got 2 and 1 of each respectively thinking 3 items right? I head over to cashier and checkout items, only to be told that I needed to purchase 3 of the same product for promo to apply! I tell them that they should have better advertisement because the way they set it up it makes it seem I could mix/match products listed. All the cashier does is ask me at this point very rudely if I wish to speak with their sup, and I decided not to since I had wasted my time trying to get the $10 which she wouldn't budge for it, they should have honored the promo especially since it's their fault for not being clear on tags how the promo worked. read more

This target feel and looks like a Walmart, bathroom are beyond dirty. It's super over crowded and the line are super long.

This really is the "hidden" (apparently not anymore, based on the number of reviews it has) gem of Van Nuys. The location is as random as possible, but for we locals that is perfect. It's your average, run-of-the-mill Target, which includes a Starbucks inside. The major bonus points for this store stem from the size of the store in comparison to the average ratio of shoppers at any given time. I enjoy being able to actually move around inside the store without having to look around for some a-hole's unsupervised brat darting in front of my shopping cart. It may not be the fanciest store in the world, but it certainly earns all 5 stars! read more

This target is the worst location I've been to. Bad customer service, unfriendly staff, and there was popcorn all over the store's floor.

Almost all targets are the same, so I'll just identify some extraneous things: clean, big parking lot. Typical layout. Industrial area can make you nervous as a single female but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Parking lot has decent lighting. Not freeway adjacent, but avoid Van Nuys blvd as much as possible. Not crowded- I went at 6 pm on a weekday. Several check stands open. Not actually hard to find if you have your route mapped out. read more
