The Curtainshop definitely applies purchase/return standards, but that's what prevents their store from looking like a picked over, half-empty Target display, with returns jammed into plastic bags. They also have great fabric in up to date styles if you want to make your own window treatments. They also sell rugs, pillows, furniture and soft goods for bathrooms and bedrooms. As for the custom made department, it does sound like they should be transparent up front about the 'bring your own fabric' pricing. Their 'up charge' for using customer supplied fabric is 100% standard for all fabrication departments that also sell fabric. Think about getting your car fixed. Would your repair professional be excited about or even agree to use parts you bought on discount? The role as a 'middle person' in these businesses is just part of their profit margin - otherwise they would just raise basic labor rates even more. You would pay for it somewhere. Custom made draperies are labor intensive and exorbitantly expensive EVERYWHERE . It is part of the reason drapery styles are more simplistic these days, and why I learned to sew.

You will go in looking to buy say a pair of socks or a rug and wind up walking out with a hammer, garden hose, snacks, and who knows what else. Along with the variety you can definitely find deals that are cheaper than anywhere else. I've found you can find some of the best deals on clothing here. Some other items are just worth passing on though oppositely. Have had no major complaints service wise here at all. Friendly staff although checking out may be a bit slower at times. Despite this and the fact some items really aren't worth buying overall a great store to stop at and browse for some good deals!

I don't blame the staff for that necessarily, as I watched loads of customers literally abandoned piles of stuff wherever they wanted when they realized, I guess, they didn't actually want to buy them. Also, another reviewer mentioned the lack of staff at the Fitting Rooms; this actually felt very normal (at least it is in other parts of the world from what I've experienced) , so I appreciated just being able to help myself to a room whenever I wanted (...granted, they were also messy with customer's deserted stuff). In the end, on this particular occasion, I left with two items: a very cute, white sweater with golden sparkly thread AND a fantastic little black dress. Pricetag? Under $50. And the person at the cash register was SO friendly and engaging; she gave me an enormous brown paper bag for free when she saw I had been toting around all my Kitchen Store Outlet stuff in my arms. I don't know that I'm rushing back here anytime soon, but if I'm in the area and I've got the time to explore, I'd come back to see what gems might find me! I found 32 options for sweaters and 40 options for sweatshirts, but not a single button up shirt. The staff is non-existent around the fitting room, so customers are always having to go find someone to unlock a door. The value of some of the items is reasonable, when it's on sale, but the headache of having to sort through unorganized sizes and color is just not worth it in my mind.
