This Target store's order pick up straight up sucks. If you need your item in two hours like it says, DO NOT place an order for pick up be warned!! I literally placed a pick up order at 6:50 pm because I work and wanted to ensure I got an item that has a couple in inventory/stock for a birthday tomorrow and it is now 10:15 pm and I still have not received a confirmation that my order is ready for pick up. It says it would be ready in two hours or less, I don't understand how it's not ready yet and I've allowed almost double the time it said it should take with the item IN STOCK. This is the second time this situation happens at the store and I should've learned my lesson the first time but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called the guest services department twice and even tried electronics once to see if I can get transferred and no one is picking up. Horrible, just plain horrible. Very poor customer service. I used to rely on Target for all things but after yesterday I walked away very disappointed. My godson is performing at a school play today and I spent all night yesterday trying to find his outfit. His school sprung this on me last minute and I was hoping not to let the kid down. We found the item online (item 046101215) and began calling store after store with no luck. In desperation, his mother walked into Target in Norwalk only for them to advise her that Target in South Gate had 2 in stock. What's frustrating is we live much closer to South Gate and called them three different times to be told they did not have this item. We managed to save the day in the end but this really makes me feel like either 1.) the Target inventory system is really bad, 2.) Their staff was simply too lazy or did not know how to look for the item, or 3.) They didn't care enough to actually check. Target is more expensive than other stores of it's kind but they usually make up for it with great service. Sadly, this was a real let down. read more

Hands down, I would take shopping at Target over WalMart any day. After seeing the Wal Mart documentary, I'm sure you would be too! This is the Target that is most convenient to me due to its location. Every time I come here, this place always seems clean to me. Very rarely do I ever ask for help when I come here but if I ever did, I would be most certain that I would not get treated rudely here. This location has a variety of things to shop for from automotive supplies to clothing to toys, video games, hygienic products, etc. I have even ordered medication from their pharmacy and they have always given prompt service. The only perk here is the constant noise pollution caused by kids that are either crying or running around! Grr! This location does tend to get crowded, especially on the weekends. Their parking lot also can be deemed as a war zone during the weekends! All in all, those are issues that do not harm me in any way because I just come in, buy what I need to buy and I'm out, just like that read more

This place is gross! Always crowded and a bunch of kids running around playing with the toys. The staff are made up of the shoppers who patronize this place so it's no wonder that the service is subpar. Not to mention that tax is about 10.25% here so I don't mind driving to either of the Norwalk locations for better service, product availability, and less taxes. The shopping carts are strewn about in the parking lot and you'll have to yank the cart from a '93 Accord bumper if you need that shopping cart. And when entering through the east entrance of the parking lot be sure to travel at a glacial place because people run out of the El Super like chickens without heads and don't look before crossing. And watch the speed bumps! And when you bring in your own bags the cashier will randomly offer the $.05 discount because they say they only offer the environmental savings "sometimes". I rather go to the other Target on Firestone, close to the 605fwy, or any other Target. I used to frequent this location years ago but it got worse each year. Like the other reviews mentioned, the kids and parents are the worst here, some employees too. -the store is messy and many things are on the floor or anywhere not on the rack or hanger. -I've also been hit by a kid, I was waiting in line and just standing there minding my own business when WHAM! this kid hits me on my side w/a shopping cart. First of all, he did not just bump me, he straight out knock me off my balance and the next day the whole right side of my body was in pain Second, he was not a little kid either, he was a pretty big kid almost my height and I'm not short. -I mentioned the employees being an issue too, one time I was in the dressing room and heard this girl talking on her phone, yelling and crying, yes I was being nosey too and her convo was full of drama - when she came out she was an employee w/a red shirt and name tag. And exiting the parking lot is horrible too - just stay away or avoid! Unfortunately, my husband had us stop by last weekend for a quick birthday gift - never again, avoid at all costs! read more

It's clean, well stocked and the employees are friendly. Anything you need, it's all here, not to mention I saved a lot of money buying groceries here instead of at the market. My local target. Not one of my favorite ones actually. When you live on the other side of the 710, in South Gate, it's a hard location to go to because you only have 1 exit on Garfield, and it gets packed. Both trying to exit and on the intersection because it's always busy in that section for some reason. And you can't U-Turn on Firestone...don't try it, they have cameras. Driving and parking is an important factor for shopping for me, especially during christmas time. This place is crowded at this time of year! Also, its always full of busy parents with crying children. I don't like that, it disturbs the peace I find in shopping LOL. Don't think you can escape it either. Those kids find you, no matter where you are in the store LOL. Finally, don't forget that this Target is in South Gate (like you can forget with that big Curacao across the street right?) so that means tax is 10%! Why? read more

This is the worst Target i've ever been too. Like the other reviewers said, there are kids running around playing with toys. On one occasion, a child in a shopping cart being pushed by what I assumed to be his grandmother, threw a toy at me. I had to tell the woman what the kid did for her to even realize what happened. Lines are always long and EVERY cashier there is slow and uninterested in being efficient or pleasant. Most merchandise is out of place or on the floor The parking here is horrible always full. This Target is what I consider the "ghetto" Target. They always run out of things at the electronic section. All the employees look like they hate their job. The store itself is pretty organized, but I would choose other Targets over this one. There is never parking close to the entrance of the store so dont even bother looking for a parking spot near it. read more

I was there last Friday 06/26/2020and as I was checking out I noticed another employee walking towards me I then noticed he sneezed into his hands even tough he was wearing a cloth mask it's still kind of disgusting especially during these COVID times he then relieved my cashier and switched with him as I was observing him I noticed his eyes looked like if he had some kind of cold I was frozen just thinking what just happened I ended up just paying and leaving feeling extremely uneasy unsafe and extremely exposed. I then called guests relations at 10:10am the same day the so called supervisor who said her name was Adrienne was extremely unprofessional and very rude with her short answers and tone of voice. I asked what their protocol was for employees where they being screened? Did they check their temperature at the beginning of the shift ? She proceeded to tell me No they are not screened then I asked are they required to wash their hand if they sneeze into them she then told me no there are no requirements that they wash their hands . Excuse me but WTF ????? You mean to tell me they are handling the community groceries and other essentials and are not required to wash their hands?? I couldent believe the low quality service received from Target at this point I might as well just go to Walmart I tought Target had higher standards I was shocked at the level of unprofessional staff working at guest relations it crazy to think even in these times the store does not care. Immaculate customer service!!! Sunday night, I visited Target in South Gate for some last minute Senior Picture wardrobe shopping for my son. I am a mother of 4 and my oldest son will be graduating. Sooo, this is my first rodeo. I arrived at 11pm. The store closed at 12am. I had an hour to find his outfits. Not only did I find them but an amazing employee assisted me thru the process. I would like to just take a moment to praise Carrie in the clothing department. She went above and beyond to assist me and give some friendly advice. Out of all the Targets near me, this one is my least favorite alongside the East LA/ Montebello Target. Every time I go I get unfriendly cashiers. They either stay quiet without even a greeting or they are talking amongst each other. I'm not asking for a conversation, but a common "hi how are you" would be nice. Second, as far as the women's department they are a little lacking. They seem to have less clothing compared to other Targets. I was looking for a casual career type dress & some shapewear to go under it- found neither. They have a Starbucks at this location, that's nice. read more

Today, I go into this specific Target because it's the closest one to my house. So overall I thought Target was helping people. I walked in with crutches, barely able to walk carrying some of the stuff I need, and not a single Target member offered for assistance. I could've used someone's help today. Was looking at some people with the electrical chairs that Target has to offered and someone was on it, but they were just cruising in it instead of offering it to someone who really needs it. I am SO NOT a fan of this target. First ...people will run you over here in the lot. These drivers don't see you walking in a LOT even when you have KIDS. Employees here are worthless. I was stuck behind someone who paid with welfare checks or whatever those things were. I swear I stood in line for a life time waiting for the staff to figure it out. Not only did she not know or ask if the person could wait aside to ring up the rest of the line while waiting 10 minutes for the manager to come up to help..but there were no apologies on the wait and it was only ONE LINE OPEN WTF. (by the way this happend a while back before they even had a self check out line. This review is just way overdue) Super poor customer service here and its just terrible whenever I go. My review is based on a visit to target I had today. What does one do when they want to escape reality and pleasantly stroll around an air conditioned store with fair priced but cute items, and spend money that they don't have? They go to Target! This Target was really five star, and I've been to a lot of Targets. Aesthetically, the Target was a bit messy but I'm writing this review mainly for their service. I encountered really friendly workers here. I returned an item and the girl was genuine and nice, not speaking in a monotone voice and going through the motions. After that, I visited their Starbucks (oh yeah a Target trip MUST include a Starbucks run, or it's not a true target run ). The Starbucks barista was so nice and asked me how my day was, etc. She was really fast too. Finally , at the checkout I got the same genuine and overall nice service . I try really hard not to shop at this target. The store is just horrifying! It is extremely messy and consistently out of stock on many items. The lines are awful too! There will be three registers open with like 10 or more people waiting in each line. And the express lanes are never open! I always see supervisors monitoring the lines but they never call in extra help! I try to avoid shopping at this store as much as possible. Don't get me wrong! I adore target.....just not this location. It's dirty, messy and usually crowded. You only need to buy one thing at Target. You only need to buy toothpaste but you end up buying everything in sight. It's your typical Target store. It's nice that you can get everything you need here. It's a department and grocery store. They have self-checkout, a food court, and Starbucks. There are times when things are messy but people don't place items back where they belong. They just leave items anywhere which makes it look disorganized. I have to share this with everybody. Everyone fears losing something of value but thinks it'll never happen to them. I'm doing this review because Joshua went above and beyond and saved me a pain in the butt of reporting missing and renewing my cards and ID. I was busy on my phone and left my wristlet in the shopping cart. I realized it while having that "empty feeling." I was looking for my wristlet in my shopping bags and to no avail. I panicked and called the store right away. I spoke to Guest Services and told me they had it with them! I was so happy. Especially during the holiday season, people become dishonest and tend to be greedy. Had to stop by for a quick emergency change for my niece last minute for a recital on Sunday . Pros : stopping by @11:00 before close time was empty . No lines pretty much you and the employees . Cons: messy store , I couldn't find anything I went to ask an employee a question and she was on her phone playing with Siri , clothes everywhere I know they are getting the store ready but I see groups and groups of employees talking pretending to work where is the management . This Target seems to have supply chain problems. They often out of many regularly priced items, not just things on super sale. Also, it almost always seems to be crowded, which is not at all their fault, just annoying. As of today (8/16/19) they are currently doing renovations, but that's not a big deal.
