Great stuff, deals, always something new, friendly customer service, amazing close outs

My mom and I have been coming here for years. They have great finds at great prizes: once they're gone, their gone.

So, what does Costco Wal-Mart, Kohl's, etc. do if they can't sell something? They sell to Santa Fe Seconds (SFS) and goes into their selling floor. If you're a bargain hunter, you might really love this place. It's totally hit or miss. Most of their stuff is first quality but the box or packaging is damaged. Or, it's just been around while without ever being sold. You can bet most items have been picked over and manhandled more than someone getting a massage. But the employees really try to keep things neat. I just happened to be driving in this neighborhood for a work assignment and saw their sign, so I parked. Next thing I knew, like a giant wave of cars, the parking lot got crowded. Every spot was taken within 20 minutes later when I came out. Mamacitas like a shark smelling blood were stalking my parking spot! Don't come here on Tuesdays because there is no street parking during for several hours because of street sweeping. Inside, there is really a wide variety of stuff...flat screen TV's, computers. books, toys, cleaning supplies, and housewares. The clothing is a mixed bag of labels I recognized like Nautica, Levi's, Adidas. La Cost and Wal-Mart house brand George I did see a collared poly Nike golf shirt for $10. There were some Anne Klein and Seiko watches for $99 that retailed for almost $200. There were some colognes, but none I liked. There is a second building with furniture and hardware.The furniture display looks really nice with the furnishings, lamps, linens, etc. they used. The $1000 bed was going for $600. A lot of the dressers are half price, and sometimes you can find matching sets. They sell a lot of their stuff pretty fast, while some don't sell well at all. There are lawn mowers, patio furniture, and tools. It's crowded inside, and checkout can be a little long. They have locations in Wilmington and Pomona as well. And although the cashier's a bi-lingual, the employees are mainly Spanish speaking. If you're in this neighborhood, they're definitely worth browsing. read more

EXCEPT THE UNEXPECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the worst places!!! Bad experience!!! Don't recommend this place to anyone. First if you plan to buy electronics make sure they are working before leaving the store!!! Or take the display item.... because there is no warranty or returns on items.. Secondly, John the owner discriminates people with disabilities who have emotional support dogs. Will tell you to leave the store, because he has the right to refuse service to anyone he pleases. Thirdly, and the most annoying one is that they have the worst customer service, when it comes to paying your items specially on the weekend when there is no boss around cashiers are always on their phones laughing or eating wile on duty. They know how to ignore clients and when you ask for for the owner they pretend they don't have one, or pretend they don't understand the language.... read more

TOO DIRTY AND UNORGANIZED. The cash register had broken down not functioning. They are taking payment with their cell phone. They are swiping peoples card on their personal phone.i refuse to let them seipe my card and left. Owner needs to clean up the store and get more organize read more

This place is great for the value you find, well worth my drive from Inglewood, past Costco! And, like Costco, if you see it now, you better buy it! Not much luck finding it in a next visit. Also, it's NOT Costco, so self serve, minimal customer service. *shrug* You absolutely get what you pay for. A former associate shared this spot with me, the one good thing to come out of that, lol! I'm actually kind of surprised at the negative reviews, but I guess I can see that kind of thing happening here. read more

Please check out all personal hygiene soap you buy from this store, you can't trust it! Especially if they wouldn't even listen to reason or consider an exchange. It could be tainted and just not healthy for your skin!!! read more

I love this Place, especially if im looking for something, and i don't want to pay full price. As said in previous post alot of there merchandise is in excellent shape, Its just that the packaging that is usually all smashed and taped up. But ive bought 100s of items here with no problems. Love this place for the great bargains. Got a 16 piece plate set Mainstays brand ( which Walmart sells) for $15. A couple of weeks later I went to Walmart and saw the same set for $25. The box seemed pretty beat up so I asked 2 different staff members if I could take it back if anything was broken and they said I could. Had to make sure so I asked twice. Luckily nothing was broken. Bought a $30 comforter for $20 A $60 crockpot for $40 A $20 lamp for $10. A $15 sturdy clothes hamper for $10 So basically some stuff is half off cause of the "condition" that its in (beat up box., or taped up., wear and tear etc.) but surprisingly or luckily I've come across some intact items. Some named brand., some not. It all depends on how picky one is. Don't go expecting it to be Target or Walmart., Anna's Linens or Best Buy. It's just a hole in the wall store where you might come across some good deals. Beware of parking! read more

Horrible customer service, I found better deals with The outlet by ELS (Azusa CA), Ebay and Amazon, at this particular store the stuff is mostly returns from other retailers and used. While with the other bast majority is new. You can sense that the employees protect their job, to rest what people was telling me about them, I made a comment regarding better deals else were in the store and they ask me to leave, I made the same comment with ELS and they told me "let me check with the manager to see if there is any thing that we can do"....they came back saying "that's our best deal for now but please feel free to check back for more discounts". ...And be careful when "touching the price tag, they may say that you are changing prices" The worst and rude customer service!! read more

I've been going to Santa Fe seconds for many years, and I've always found great quality at a rock bottom price. I've bought everything from patio sets, living room furniture, to jackets, pants socks and even shampoo!! I'm sorry to see them go. Most of my Christmas shopping was done there. This comment is for the other store at 8615 Long Beach Blvd, but I believe there's the same owner to both places, hope this comment reaches the higher ups. If only I could give 0 stars. Just been to the store today and the two ladies at the cashier are very rude, they made you feel unwelcome as you ask them to try/test their product, they just answer "they're all brand new, been checked, been tested", Oh really???!!! How come we bought 1 item previously and it came out incomplete when you said they've all been checked? I don't recommend this store and would never recommend it to anyone anymore. It's only the manager who's nice to us, the ladies were nice too when the manager is around. Hope the ladies would read all the comments about them. Hey, ladies, it's free to smile! I have been shopping here for more years than I can remember. Yes they have great deals and some not so great deals, you just have to be a smart shopper (I'm always on Google to check prices before I buy). Some things may be defective and you HAVE to return it for store credit within 10 days. I make sure to inspect my items thoroughly. It's still worth it to me. But now I'd like to talk about my experience today. So like some others that have complained about customer service have hit the nail on the head. (Although I don't go in expecting to be treated like a customer in a 5 star resort) I expect a little respect and gratitude that I am frequenting your establishment to spend my hard earned cash. Well today's example; I went to purchase some furniture and I asked do they usually give deals if I buy multiples... The lady said sometimes they give some money off the price or they will waive the taxes, but she would have to have her manger approve it. Needless to say I was in the process of buying over $500 in furniture which is a big sale here. Well this cashier never even bothered to return to tell us the verdict. I then asked the next cashier (who was not involved in the original conversation) she said "probably not, but the manager is the guy with the red shirt." So I stood near him, as he was in a conversation that seemed very casual, and was waiting my turn. Well he and this lady just kept right on talking for about 10 more minutes although he made eye contact with me. He never once said I'll be with you or even b***h bye for that matter. When he was done speaking to the other lady he tried to turn his back to me as if I wasn't waiting on him to help me, but I was still polite and asked him if he could offer a better deal since I was purchasing 2 chest and 1 dresser closet combo? Well he just kept walking away as he was explaining that he had already told the 1st cashier no because his profit would be too small. He was so dismissive but I just walked away. Then when buying the dressers I told them I needed it delivered so they told ME to go to the tools department and see if I could find the guy who delivers as a side job. Annoyed to the fullest I began to do that, but this guy spoke little English so when I saw the manager again I asked him when the guy could deliver. He said "did you just talk to him?" My husband had had it by this time, he was like "yes but we don't speak Spanish and he doesn't speak English." So then he said "ok well he gets off work at 7 so he will be there by 8." I was a frequent client until today 05/26/2018, due to the bad service on the part of the employees since I made my purchases of $ 340.00 dollars that included clothes, shoes, and different things together with a laptop brand Dell with cost of 199.99 which I paid with my other things and one of the employees told me to wait to bring the laptop box and when he brought it alone he said he could not give me the laptop for that price it was a mistake of another employee that put the price, I said that I had already paid and only said, sorry I can not give it to you, after a long day of work and wanting to do my shopping and tell me this, I consider it not fair, but now I did not want to do more problems and return all the goods that I had already paid, for my part I would like to give them less 3 stars, for not assuming their mistakes, I do not intend to buy again in that place and I will make sure that all the people I know find out what happened to me, I do not intend to recommend this store never again, I hope my humble review help other people to think twice before going or otherwise make them respect the marked price. read more

Buyer beware. Horrible customer service, defective items, no refunds for any purchases.

Cons~ I bought a dvd player for what I thought was a great price but once I good home it wouldn't even turn on. I went back and they will not refund you your money instead they gave you credit to buy something else. The next week later I returned and saw they have the same dvd player on display. Don't be fooled your not getting like a 40% to 70% off from the actual retail store it's more like 10% and without warrenty and if it's cheaper it's probably because it has a defect/tear/chipping or a parts missing. read more

I had to write a review since this store has definitely changed over the years. I used to visit on a month basis for their great deals and unbeatable prices. However, over the last year this store has lost its appeal. First, I highly recommend you take your cell phone and compare the prices on the items. I have found Amazon, Sams Club, and Costco offer better prices and return policies. What is worse is that you'll find three of the exact same item ( example, a coffee maker) and each will have a different price! You really need to make sure you are getting a good deal. For example, I was looking for a knife set and ended up going to Ross and got the knife set for $25 that Santa Fe was selling for over $40! They also sell "discounted foods", problem is they have expired or are about to expire .... so watch out for the expiration dates!! If you are buying baby products or kid toys you must also make sure the items haven't been recalled. During my visits I have found they sell items that were recalled due to safety issues and they are selling it without warning. The one good deal I have found is on men's shorts, which are given Walmart prices. However I rather go to Walmart which has better return policies, fitting rooms, restrooms, air-conditioning, and better customer service!! Buyers beware! read more

This place use to be good in prices. Now the price are almost the same as a retail store is better to buy them at a regular store because you get warranty. Here you won't get that and then they don't wanna refund your money if something don't work. Customer service there is none read more

love the great deals at santa fe seconds! It's like a treasure trove. Special deals hidden in the nooks and crannies. Last week, I found a tumi suitcase for $30! They normally retail for $200! It has one missing part, but it didn't affect daily usage. They have open box or store returns from stores such as costco and walmart. read more

I love all 3 stores! The one in Pomona is too far. My wife and I are there all the time so they kind of know us by name. We have never encountered any problems, never. They even called us when they got the bedroom set that I wanted in (which, by the way was from Costco). We Save so much money shopping here. Everything we buy is a deal because we always Google the price first to make sure! The only bad part is that We cannot leave out of there without spending less than $100.00! Bargains galore, you just have to find them. One little tip...Don't go looking for customer service, go looking for deals! We have gotten money taken off occasionally, because we spent a lot. The delivery can be a little tricky because they really don't provide that service (but it can be worked out or you can always rent a pick/up). Yesterday I was a kid in a candy store. The people were wonderful. The assistance was amazing and I bought so many items needed not just wanted at prices that were so low I was amazed. I see that some people have given this company negative reviews regarding some of the workers. I know as a small business owner that the customer is always right, but sometimes they can also be a pain, it runs both ways. So in my opinion, if you like a deal and you respect others, they will respect you. happy shopping, love this place! Do NOT...I repeat do NOT buy anything from this place!! These are defective items or returned items. I bought a coffee table for $14.99 and thought *what a steal*! But when I got home and opened the box...The table was broken in half. I went back the next day and they told me I broke it! After being offended and going off...they exchanged it. I took the new one home and opened the box...to find an huge deep scratch across the entire table. This was just 1 incident...There are many more incidents regarding defective items....just know that if your willing to buy their merchandise and you're ok with paying for returned or defects than this would he the spot for you! Be sure that you open any box and inspect whatever you intend to purchase. We bought a lounger that was still taped up in the box. It was broken and unusable, yet they refused to give us a refund. They could not replace our item and they only give store credit. Buyer beware, these guys will take your money and laugh all the way to the bank. I absolutely love this store. I Appreciate all they offer, their prices are wonderful. Santa Fe seconds started a few years ago. It was and it still is a nice little gem of a store close to Huntington park, South Gate, and Los Angeles. It was featured on Alan Mendelson's on channel 9, best buy for your money. The day I saw that program, I thought that would be the end of this bargain place. Instead, this place has stayed true to bringing us good bargains. I loved this place as they have everything, like Costco, or walmart, or target, etc......This was and is our family's bargain place. We make the rounds of this place every weekend and sometimes during the week. If you are looking for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, Halloween gifts, easter gifts, etc, This is the best place for anything under the sun. If you are looking for day to day stuff, it's here too. They have name brand clothing, and evewn food items. This is definitely a one stop shopping for all of your needs. I recently bought a bike from WaLMART FOR $95 ONLY to have somebody steal it from our back yard. My son was very heartbroken as it was his first "real bike" and it was less than a week old. I went shopping at Santa Fe, and as we were looking for a small table, I heard him scream, and his eyes got all big. He had found the exact same bike at Santa Fe. I felt bad but I couldn't afford to pay much at that time. I saw the price and My eyes got big as the exact same bike was for $45 here. I bought it immediately. My son and I left very happy that day. This place is really a gem, it does a great job of keeping it neat and well organized and there is something for everyone. Most of their items are brand new still in box. Some the packaging has been damaged, however, the merchandise is brand new. They have a lot of brand name merchandise. I personally have bought an lcd tv, an lcd tv stand, christmas tree, lawnmower, bike, refrigerator, decorations for every occasion, bedding, clothes, games, toys, and a karaoke microphone, and many more items. During holidays, and or birthdays, this is the first spot I think of. The place is perfect again for bargain hunters. The people are friendly and helpful. I was in the store about an hour choosing what I wanted to take... ,I saw, many items that are on Mark down are because they are expired. When I was ready to be checked out the lady at the register decides to change the price on a shampoo I was gonna buy..She said she has the right to change any prices if they are wrong ...so then a CLERK comes back saying it's 17.99 ....that's not the price it had on the shampoo...I was gonna buy 80 dollars worth of stuff n I told her she should respect the price it had she said no n was mad at me for their mistake ..She was then gonna charge me with out deducting the actual price it had on the shampoo which was 9.99, ..I told her to forget it n left with out nothing....Really bad customer service plus false advertisement ..I will never return or recommend any one to shop there... read more

Santa Fe Seconds is Awsome. I recently purchased an Invicta Watch for $130!!! i was going to buy the same watch on Amazon for $260.
