If I could give negative stars, I would. My elderly mother was simply looking at an item when their…read moreso-called "security guard" decided it was appropriate to walk up to her with a bullhorn and start insulting her--yes, yelling insults through a bullhorn at an older woman in public! As if that humiliation wasn't enough, he then kicked her out of the store. This is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright cruel treatment I've ever witnessed. No one--especially an older woman--should ever be subjected to this kind of abuse when they're just trying to shop. Shame on this store for hiring staff who think harassment and humiliation are acceptable forms of "security." We will never return, and I will be telling everyone I know to stay far away from this place.

Upon entering the store, an employee immediately began speaking over the store speaker system in a manner that made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. As I continued shopping, I noticed that the same employee appeared to follow me throughout the store, which made me feel extremely embarrassed and unfairly targeted. When I arrived at the register to purchase my items, the cashier hesitated to ring up my merchandise and treated me as though I was not going to pay for my items. I found this behavior disrespectful, unprofessional, and discriminatory. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect while shopping in your store. This experience left me feeling humiliated and unwelcome. I believe no customer should be made to feel judged or profiled while simply shopping. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed seriously and addressed with the employees involved to ensure this does not happen to anyone else in the future. I would appreciate a response regarding the actions that will be taken concerning this matter. Thank you for your time and attention. Note: This review is for the dd's DISCOUNTS location currently located within the shopping center…read more This store has closed as a dd's and is currently being converted into a Ross Dress for Less, but the Yelp listings have not yet been updated. The new dd's location is located in the former Ross. I rarely write negative reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with the dd's located within this shopping center. On June 23, 2026, I purchased a pair of cargo pants from this dd's location. Shortly after purchasing them, the zipper failed. Although I no longer had the receipt or the original tags, I paid by credit card and offered to provide the card information so the purchase could be located if needed. I also purchased two other similar pairs of cargo pants from this same store, including another pair the day before I returned to resolve the issue. I hoped this would demonstrate that I was a recent customer purchasing the same merchandise. When I first asked about returning the defective pants, an associate told me that I could exchange them without a receipt. Based on that information, I returned to the store expecting the defective item to be evaluated. However, when I spoke with the store manager, Courtney, I was told that the original tags were required and no assistance was offered regarding the defective zipper. Receiving conflicting information from store employees made the experience even more frustrating. I then contacted dd's Customer Service through the dd's website. The response I received referred me to a Ross location, even though my purchase was made at dd's. I replied to explain that the purchase was from dd's and provided additional information, but despite following up, I never received another response. I understand that stores have return policies, but I expected better communication and customer service when trying to resolve an issue involving a defective item. Instead, I received conflicting information in the store, my customer service inquiry appeared to be routed incorrectly, and my follow-up went unanswered. I hope this review helps explain my experience and encourages improvements in customer service and communication across the company.

First time coming to a General Discount store. I'm used to shopping at 99 cent stores. They closed…read moredown this year. So I'm still looking for a good alternative. This is definitely not it. Came here to get some turkey basters, some stationary products like paper, pens, pencils, markers, and any other cheap stuff I don't need. That's exactly how I shopped at 99 Cent store. Most of the cheap stuff here is doubled the price that would've been priced at 99 Cent store. So this is not a good 99 Cent store alternative. Example: Turkey basters were "on sale" for 99 cent (they were sold out). But they were sold out. Reynold's aluminum foil was "on sale" with required coupon found in paper (they didn't have any papers in store), for 99 cent. Luckily I had my paper that was in my junk mail. As the regular price is over $3. They must be crazy. This is a discount store. I expect discount prices. Otherwise I can go to Vons or Ralph's and pay some change more for the same brand. Their selection for cheap stuff under $2.00 is slim. Most of the 99 cent stuff is "on sale" for a certain amount of time. Most of the good sales that are shown in the paper are out of stock. I barely found stuff that was useful for my needs. Because they have such a small selection of stuff in comparison to 99 Cent stores. Aisles in store are narrow as ever. You will have to turn your body sideways so others can squeeze pass you and your cart. I'm slim and still had this issue. Parking lot is shared with tons of businesses in shopping area. But there is plentiful available parking, especially on a Saturday morning at 10am (store opening hours) when I went. But the parking spaces are small af. You will get door dings or give door dings from getting out vehicle. I noticed a lot of people taking up two spaces. I guess so they won't get or receive door dings. Lastly, I read some bad reviews about a store Latino male security guard who watches everyone like a hawk and will confront you if your purse is a backpack or a designer bag and demand that you leave it up front in a cart. Well, I didn't encounter him. There was a black male security guard working Today. I didn't have any issues out of him. There is also LPAs who follow folks around the store. I'm guessing that this store experiences a lot of shoplifting. Because LPAs (loss prevention agents) were deep in here and watching everyone like a hawk. The cashier was friendly. But there was only 1 cashier opened. So lines were long. Bottom-lime, I won't return. Next time I'm in area, I'll try out Dollar Tree, located in shopping center across the street
