Went to target so my niece could get a toy. She found something she really liked but it was clearly missing 2 little toys. The lady at the register was kind enough to ask her manager Juan for a discount. He was a tad dismissive and told the cashier to only give a 5% discount. The toy cost $20. This Target Store location is one of my favorite places to hang out at to do my shopping for makeup , handbags, and to do my grocery shopping. I love Target's Makeup Department because they have a great selection of makeup products that are usually available every day. I walked by the handbags department and these Clear Handbags caught my eye! I started looking at these clear handbags in some different sizes. The prices start at $10.00 to $25.00 each. I bought this really unique and pretty clear handbag for only $10.00. That a great price! I use this clear handbag to put my makeup in as a travel bag and I also carry this clear handbag around with me when I am doing some light shopping at Target when I don't want to use my leather handbag that carries more weight. I enjoy shopping at this Target Store location due to its nearby by house and this store has a wonderful selection of products carried in their store. We just came back from the store and I seriously couldn't be more disappointed. This Target used to be my fave in the San Diego Area. I much prefer a one floor Target to a two floor. They used to also have great selection and be kept nice and neat. Now no matter what time of day you go the carts are all over the parking lot. Tonight literally the whole store was smoky. People were smoking marijuana inside the store. Even at the cash register. My 12-year-old mentioned that she felt weird and her eyes felt like she didn't slept in days no joke! There's trash everywhere. The garbages are usually overflowing. It's super picked over. It's just giving more of Walmart vibes. It's just super disappointing. I wanted to recognize an amazing employee named "Lisa" who helped me with my drive up order. She was so efficient, kind, professional w/a great positive attitude. I hope her organization recognizes her cause it makes me want to use this location as my primary location despite thinking it was going to be a very busy and problematic location. I've been shopping at this target for years. The team here has always been very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, on 8/12/24, The team member named Michael who works in electronics was less than helpful. Was extremely rude not only to me but to other customers. No acknowledgement, care or willingness to help. One of the floor supervisors named Samantha was present during part of my experience and said nothing. Apparently, a sales man that was working there also stated Michael has a very bad attitude and horrible customer service. I understand we all have bad days, but, if you're being paid to perform a job that has an emphasis in customer care, initiative needs to be taken. The only person who was more than helpful was working in returns I think his name was John or Jake. My 85 yr old mother just went into the Target in College Grove shopping center looking for assistance with refilling her pay-as-you-go cell phone. A huge thank you to Sarah and Desiree who went above and beyond to help my mum with this issue. She isn't tech savvy at all and they could easily have dismissed her because technically it's not their job to add funds to make her phone work but instead they took the time to get her up and running. I like this target. Everyone seems to be pretty helpful. There was one situation we're my sister asked for a price check and they guy kind of walked away and said someone else would help but I used my app to check so we were able to brush that one off though it wasn't the best impression. My niece was using crutches and we wanted to get her a motorized cart but guess what, they were both dead like zero power luckily they had a cart that an adult person could be pushed and for some reason I wanted to push her in it, it was kinda fun. While my wife loves Target, I do not. It's always hectic, the shelves always seem destroyed, and it's just a general hassle for me. More work than it's really worth to be honest. Well, the good news is that my attitude may be changing with this store in particular after having a really nice shopping experience this weekend. Parking was a damn breeze and I didn't get frustrated or have to circle the lot looking for a space. Once inside the store had a really pleasant pace to it. The customers didn't seem crazy, it wasn't loud and chaotic, and overall it was for lack of a better word, peaceful. This being said, I never want to spend more time (or money) in places like Target than I really need to. I know what I want, I grab, I get out. That's exactly what I did this time and the one strike against them was the inconsiderate employee who was checking out with her groceries after her shift. She totally tied up the line with chit-chat, and had the cashier remove items and start separate transactions to split the bills between cash and credit. Super annoying but I'll survive. read more

I came to this location yesterday to return some cat&jack baby items per targets warranty and return terms and conditions state. I guess the cat&jack warranty blew up on TikTok and now this location is refusing to accept returns of cat&jack items. Sam was the customer service representative who attended to me when I walked in and she was very unhelpful and told me I could go to another store to return the items. I ended up going to a different store today which I have been to in the past.. it's in a nicer area and is way bigger but it's a drive for me. Their customer service rocks and that's why I'll take the trip. They returned my items happily and did not give me a hard time whatsoever. I mentioned to the customer service agent what had happened and they told me that Sam definitely had the capability to accept my return but there are all sorts of excuses stores come up with to avoid a return. It's literally the same company, so how is there discrepancies like this between local stores? I am a new mom so I don't have time to get jerked around and run to different stores. I'm running on a newborn nap schedule. On top of that I'm dealing with the loss of my father and again don't have time to run around to another store while I am taking care of everything that comes with loss. As a customer service manager (prior to my maternity leave) I have very high expectations when I go shopping. If you don't like being in customer service then working with people is not the job for you, and there are plenty of others out there. You never know what a customer is going through, so treat each person with the utmost respect even if you don't feel like going the extra mile to help them out. I know this probably won't have an impact on how management addresses customer service, so to other customers looking to shop here, just go to a different location where they won't give you a hard time, and where they will honor targets terms and conditions. Why advertise and offer warranty's/aids to help parents out during this new chapter of parenthood if you are going to make it more difficult than anything? BS if you ask me read more

For one I feel like every one working a job at target should be required to wear a bra ! For 2 if you are racist you should not be allowed to be employed in California what's so ever . Me and my boyfriend went to target for just a tent and a blanket . We had one card transaction and one cash transaction . MARY JANE was very disrespectful to us . Her attitude was terrible and I explained we had to do a cash transaction so we had to go to the regular line instead of self check out and she went in my cart to bring the stuff to the other line . Compared to other Target locations, this is one is subpar. The inventory on items that are NOT pandemic-related seemed pitiful, as several things I was looking for were sold out. The most annoying thing was I needed an A27 battery and wasted most of this visit circling the aisles trying to find Aisle C83. The app made it seem very straightforward, but the numbering was not prominently posted as with other stores. When I finally found the C83, there were no batteries at all! And yes, I circled that aisle too like an idiot. I would have asked staff for assistance, but there were few roaming the aisles. I managed to use a kiosk to learn other locations where this specific battery was located. The Target app did not display these other locations, which tells me this store's inventory isn't accurate and there's a lag between the app and the kiosk information. After trying THREE aisle locations, I was finally able to get the batteries I needed and get the hell out. There was a nice young woman directing customers to checkout lines to prevent crowding and promote proper distancing. This was easily the crappiest Target experience I have had in a long time and I won't return to this location again unless I am desperate. And even then I would consider going to the Walmart in the same plaza next time. I expect this kind of craptacular experience at Walmart, not at a Target. The only pro was that I was able to get the item I needed to take care of something unexpected for my mom. read more

I live between two targets and I always have chosen this one since 2018. I have been consistently dissatisfied by a few things as of late that prompted this review. 1- I don't feel safe. There's aggressive people out front without proper set ups trying to get people to sign petitions and other times, folks selling candies. Last time I was there, one man saw I was on the phone and got extremely close to me. I zipped out of his way and avoided the interaction. I shouldn't have been on my phone, but these people have 0 respect for personal space and it's frightening. 2-they NEVER have hand carts and that annoys me to no end. I will be very cautious to return if I do. Overall the store is clean, and they offer Starbucks and all the usual target-things. I haven't been in Target store for 4 years. I went to the College Grove store for a head set, I walked into a beautiful new designed store. The isles were organized and the soft lighting and low music made it a pleasure to stroll and shop the well stocked stores. It's like shopping at Nordstroms. I look at Target like the better, cleaner looking step-sister of Walmart. A little more presentable, slightly more attractive version. Even the customers appear, let's just say more at ease shopping here. One of the better ones I've been to. At times I've been deceived, and let down with my wants and needs. I'm used to this. And while some of the prices are mostly on the same plane as the big WM, the selection of overall stuff is definitely much less. They closed the cafe, but opened a Starbucks. Higher class now. Is that better? Maybe for some, but I liked the cafe. They had good popcorn. One thing I do know, the big WM could never get a Starbucks. It's funny that they package some of their branding under a name called Archer Farms. Sounds organic, doesn't it? Well, it's not and this is creative marketing at its finest. It's ok, most of the products they sell are more than adequate I've found. Cashier lines are always long it seems but they do have self-checkout. Once in a while I get lucky and get out quick. But it is a dice roll pretty much. This can alter my decision of course if I even want to stop here. Covid-19 Despite being in an unsavory area full of solicitors and public transportation spooks, I had a good impression of this store during this time period. I got my retail therapy (yay). I found most of the cleaning items I was looking for (finally). And, I was touched by the charitable nature of one of the line referees (*uterus twitch*). So we're supposed to be 6 feet apart and lined up accordingly before checking out. Yeah, we're used to the drill. But, this nice employee noticed a disabled boy who lost his dad and instead of ignoring him, he proactively stepped out of his referee zone to help him out. It was very sweet. On top of that, he maintained eagle's eye-watch of the whole line and he radio'ed his squad to get cracking while we all stared at the ceiling waiting for movement. I really enjoy coming to this location. It isn't the closet to me so I don't always do it but I do really like this one. This location has been updated and has a better and more open floor plan. I also think this a larger location and they have a wider variety of items. I loved coming here when I was shopping for my baby because it was easier to find the items I wanted and needed. The grocery section is large and always has what I am in need of, plus more. I tend to do some impulse buying in that area. I have loved the clothing sections and can always pick something out and the health & beauty section is amazing! So many option and it is laid out so nicely and neatly. This Target store is clean and the employees are friendly and helpful; however, they seem to always be out of what I need, have super long lines (pre pandemic as well) and, lately, every time we go, there is someone selling something outside the entrance. Aren't there rules about this at most stores? It seems to be encouraged here. COVID changed a lot of things for all of us and I can handle the long lines (even at 10pm on a Thursday night), I can handle not getting everything on my list (there's a Walmart around the corner) but the two combined is just too frustrating. Couple that with someone always asking for money or trying to sell something before you even get into an already mildly overpriced store and you get a 2 star review. Just a note for/about solicitors: if someone is rushing into Target at 10:00 on a weeknight, it's likely they are in a hurry to get in, get out and get home. They don't want you to jump in front of them- stopping them from entering the store, introduce yourself and try to start a conversation about your Christian CD, as lovely as I'm sure it is. They may just want to get the diapers they need for their little one and get back home so he can go to sleep after a long and cranky day. This is my go to target since it's near home. It's usually clean, and employees usually do not have an attitude. I will definitely continue shopping here, however they do not honor prices if stuff is stocked in the wrong spot. I picked up this watch stocked with a $14.99. Honestly I didn't read item description just saw price. It scanned at normal $24.99 price. Employees refused to match price on shelf bc "someone must've put it there". I would be understanding if it was just the one in this spot especially during hectic shopping season. I came in to buy an AirPods Pro and a MagSafe charger, but I didn't have the physical payment cards with me so I used the Target app to do the payment but it didn't go thru, after a few moments back and forth with Led, he decided to helped other customers and left me hanging, then he sent another team member to help him bring me up, but he chose to locked the item inside the locker without giving the other person the key, so both of us had to wait for him to get back, then he told that person to leave and let him handle the situation in which he went back and forth telling me that I was in the wrong, first he blamed my app, then he blamed my account, then he accused me of fraud, I tried to explain to him that nothing was wrong on my end, and that I went to another Target location in Linda Vista, they were able to bring me to guests services and manually input my payment card, he even told me that those people should be punished for doing that, he said noone supposed to do that, at this point he had repeatedly insulted my feelings also not being helpful because the line was getting longer at electronics checkout, so after waiting for a while I told him why don't you get more people to help those people because my situation might take longer to resolve, instead he said he couldn't help me, then sent me away. At least if he couldn't, maybe find someone else who could, took him few mins to came by and asked me if I needed help, I felt like I should have just brought the item to the customer service upfront myself, but then he probably prevented me to do so cause he would accuse me for stealing. This Target located in an area maybe alot of shoplifting happened, everything got security locked even for a cheap item. They have huge islands, and you can buy a lot of things in bulk. I also have a target red card, and that makes it so much better to use items, and give me a 10% discount . This Target is alright it's close to a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice. I do go to Walmart sometimes and I can see a huge difference in the merchandise and the customers. Also this Target seems more put together and cleaner. So this Target doesn't have two stories like the one in Mission Valley but it's still pretty good. They do have a small grocery section compared to Walmart but I still like Target better. The reason why I'm giving this Target 3 stars is because there's nothing really special about it like it's not a super Target. When I'm in the area and need anything I go to Target even though I know Walmart may have the same thing for cheaper.
