This is one busy Target. We've had to return several things, a couple of times without receipts. The process was quicker and easier than what I've experienced in Georgia. The staff on the floor is helpful and accommodating. The staff manning the registers pretty much the same. Except some -- perhaps hired for the holiday rush -- need to be better trained. I had $50 store credit on a cardboard Target card. I used $30 of it. After running it through, the cashier was about to rip up the card. "NO!!!!" I exclaimed. "There's still $20 on it." Said cashier had no idea how these cards worked. Another gripe is the parking lot. No matter when we go, there are tons of shoppers, tons of cars and plenty of carts willy nilly around the lot. (I'm conscious of this since my car was badly dented by a stray cart years ago in a WalMart lot.) Manpower apparently doesn't keep up with cart-power which seems to be a chronic problem. read more

One of the better Targets on the area with a nice assortment of items, friendly staff and quick lines. More recently I've been really into using the drive up, option that is available which is fantastic and highly recommended. The service is quick normally my order is completed in 2 hours or less. Prior to the drive up option, going in the store is pretty painlesss. Most times, I get what I need and get out. Store is normally stocked well and I never had issues with out of stock items or long lines. Highly recommend this target read more

Your stereotypical Target. Fairly inexpensive, large amount of items and non-helpful staff. To start off, this place is just giant! The parking lot can fit a couple 100 cars if that gives you a perspective. However, the only positive that comes with the size of this place is the variety. Other than that it's awful. The layout is awkward, there isn't enough staff to cover the area and it's hard to find anything. When you can find things the variety here, is amazing. They have food, clothes and electronics. Plenty for each category, too. I was presently surprised by the variety of items in the electronics department. They had phones, consoles, smart watches and headphones. They even had gift cards for specific video games like Madden. It's my luck that the xBox I was looking to buy had a pre-downloaded game that was not age-appropriate for the kid who would be receiving it. I ended up having to go to GameStop, but stayed and bought a couple of sweaters. The clothing is fine and includes athletic and dress apparel. Same thing can be said with their food, but they don't have the healthiest options out there. They have sports apparel, which is good, but it's not amazing. No Nike or Adidas, but that can be inferred with a Target. My main concern is the staff here. It's a disaster. They pretty much spend their time socializing with other employees. I even heard an employee pretty much yell out "B**ch" in front of everyone including kids. It also wasn't pleasant to hear the cashier complain about her job when checking out. When you do need help they will give the general direction of an items location, but they won't walk you over or anything. The staff needs some training from Bed Bath and Beyond. They have a PizzaHut and Starbucks in the front, but they don't have a full menu. I suppose I will return, but I would never go out of my way to go to this place. read more

Paulette, the store manager could not have been more helpful! I ran to my computer to write this review! I visit this Target regularly without issue, until recently when I purchased a gift card that was not validated at the time of check-out. When I initially approached customer service regarding this issue, Maria (customer representative) helped me to understand the store policies. She was polite and friendly, but directed me towards the store manager, as she could not assist any further in validating the cards. Paulette promptly came out to greet me. When I explained the issue, she assured me that she would be able to help and followed through on assisting me through the process. Paulette and Maria both went beyond to help me and I really appreciate this level of care. I will continue to recommend this Target and feel comfortable purchasing from this location with a hard working, friendly customer service team read more

We could say its just a target and give it 3 stars and move on. However, considering the brand, I have to say its a little less than I've come to expect. Parking, while plentiful, is somehow always a pain... ok, maybe I'll blame that on myself and fellow customers. What I can't blame on us customers is the typical long waits at the cash registers, the less then typical selection, or the general feeling you just aren't welcome... The store seems to be disorganized. The seasonal/holiday products are always in the same corner, yes, but in no real order. They offer groceries, but seem to have a wall of refrigerator-freezers with products thrown in at random. I end up spending more time than I plan, however, often that extra time just goes towards trying to find what I came in to get! read more

This Target has just about everything in it. It always seem to be very busy. Before social distancing I visited this location about once a week. It used to be one of my favorite Targets. I went in there last week and was shocked Their social distancing is a JOKE!!! Not only did I see over ten customers with no masks on, but store employees were either wearing no mask or a mask under their noise. Smh. One of them was a manager! Sad. Quite pleasant from staff to store setup. I was in line waiting to check out when muscle issue caused me to break a glass bottle I had in my hand. It hit the floor & shattered. Cashier had already called for clean up, everyone assured me there was no need to apologize & I wasn't charged for the broken item. I also met an employee who shares my name she too was amazing & ironically we learned we are both fixated on the same juices right now the one I'd just broken. This is the nearest target to my house by far, hence I go here often. Unfortunately it's pretty sub par as far as cleanliness and service go. I took a pic of the overflowing garbage cans and that's at 11am on Saturday and it's really hot out so you can imagine the smell. This is the Target I always go to when I need stuff that I know Target should have but I can't really think of it until I'm standing in the store. And, the problem with this target, is that its selection is very weirdly narrow in a lot of ways. There have been times when I couldn't find sun lotion anywhere in the Summer. Times when I couldn't find a single comb worth buying. Other times when I was like "they probably have jumbo bottles of ibuprofen at Target and I'm already here," and the answer was "no, they don't" after finally asking the pharmacy where the big bottles were. The service is alright, and they have plenty of snacks, so that's a plus. But if you're looking to stock your medicine cabinet or refill on this or that, you might want to go somewhere a little more reliably stocked. read more

Every time I walk into this target I receive great service from the employees. I've been in sections of the store not knowing where to locate an item and I've had a nearby worker ask me if I needed assistance (something I don't typically see in big stores like target). But you can't really compare as inventory always changes. I like that they have white bed sheets that I like here as well with the count I prefer. This morning I went to shop the Monument Road Target during the "senior hours". As an at risk person I thought this was a great idea from Target. However the implementation was a travesty. The manager who stood at the door let us a crowd of younger shoppers ahead of the many seniors who were keeping social distance, many of whom had masks and gloves. The manager did nothing and made no response to the issue when it was raised by the seniors, including myself. No disinfectant wipes were made available for the carts. Inside the store, clerks were congregating in groups, no gloves, no masks. Taking no precautions whatsoever in coming into contact with the seniors who were in the store. Thanks Target! Thanks for being incredibly irresponsible and lacking in any care for seniors and vulnerable people. You should be ashamed of yourselves and your poor employee training! read more

This Philadelphia West Target, first built in 2007, has undergone a complete renovation here in 2017. Much like Wendy's and Burger King have updated all their store to the latest modern standards, Target is doing the same with all of its stores. It's really a much more gorgeous place inside nowadays; which is beneficial because this location has a very busy, rough crowd between the St. Joe's & PCOM students and some of the local communities that are a bit economically challenged. This a standard-sized Target; it's certainly not one of the larger-sized Target stores, such as that in South Philadelphia or Plymouth Meeting or Cherry Hill. You will find the majority of what you might come to a Target for, but some of the departments (like sporting goods or electronics) may not have everything you'd find at bigger store. Clothing, food, and home goods appear to take up the majority of this location. The old cafe was ripped out and replaced with a huge new Starbucks, along with a nice seating area and Starbucks wifi. So you won't find the more standard Target fare of hot dogs, popcorn, pizza, etc. here anymore. The old Starbucks outside Target, near the California Pizza Kitchen, has been closed in order to focus on this new in-store experience for the customers. This new in-store Starbucks is now full-service, as opposed to the previous nook-sized Starbucks. Still, other reviewers are correct - the staff here can be a bit rough and surly. Which is one huge reason why I take away a star point for this review. Frankly, I should probably take away 2 stars, but let's be optimistic because of the complete renovation, shall we? The Target isn't the biggest one around; but it's nice, and is still a boon to this area of the City, where retail had been rather non-existent before 2007. read more

I am unhappy because I cannot get my brownies to go in their plastc wrapper from the instore Starbucks. In the greater scheme of things, an in consequential event but I take them home to the wife and when they get there an hour or 2 later they are still fresh. Starbucks and Target need to fix this. If you haven't been to this Target in a while, you may want to consider visiting it. I work nearby and usually go between the hours of 11am and 2pm, when it is less crowded. Over the summer, there was construction being done, which made the shopping experience absolutely horrible. Certain items were moved in completely different areas as a result of construction work which was being done. You would go in one week and a certain item would be in one area, then the next week or so, that item would be in a completely different place. Sometimes, it would be in a section that made absolutely no sense. For example, protein bars would be in a section with notebooks. Now that the construction is done, I have to say it's now a very attractive Target. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice just how huge and open the store looks. There are very clean restrooms to your right, including a family restroom for those shopping with the little ones. To your left is Starbucks. There was always a Starbucks in this Target, but now it looks better and has more seating. Oddly enough, there's a Starbucks literally around the corner within two minutes walking distance or less. Post construction, there are now more self-checkout machines. I haven't officially counted, but from what I recall, there are roughly 10 machines. The grocery section has been vastly improved, with much more selections. I recommend it if you're in the area. read more

There was an item on a shelf with the wrong price I asked them to honor the price and not only did the cashier get smart with me when he calle the LOD she came to me with an attitude and said "y'all come here and take those items and put them in places so y'all can get them for cheaper prices" this was very racist as hell. After encountering her ignorance I told the cashier I didn't want the item, he then took the item and put it in the bin under his register. After receiving my receipt I looked it over and seen that he charged me for the item anyway. I walked back to him and told him to give me the item he charged me for and he all but laughed in my face and asked to see my receipt like I was lying. He then checked my receipt and handed me the item. This place is racist and ghetto!!!! Story time: I go to target at 9ish cuz I just missed the pickup time for my online order and went to reshop over 200 back to school items to give away in our neighborhood. no biggie they still had everything so I just go and grab it. My cart was filled to the top with crayons, glue, markers etc and this target doesn't provide bags.. no problem (mind you if I did drive up they would give them for free) so I go to customer service who graciously gives me a big empty box cuz I have so much stuff and I head to a cashier line. I let someone go in front of me with less stuff and I put my box behind me to start grouping things to put on the belt. Then the cashier from self checkout yells over 2 registers to me (mind you I'm NOT in self checkout) and says I cannot have the box.. I responded that customer service just gave me this box.. and she continues to yell, I decide not to engage in yelling in the store, im a black lady, I just wanna get in and out! So I turn to put my stuff on the belt and here she runs up on me and grabs my box said "I said you can't have that box" I explained customer service just gave it to me, she calls me a liar and said we don't give out boxes I'm like ma'am look at my cart or go ask them, instead she whips out a box cutter and cuts my box in my face. I'm like ma'am why would I steal a box when I'm here to buy things to donate.. why not just go ask if you don't believe me. people this is an empty box!!! That they trash every night! She then proceeds to tell me that I can have it now? Wth! Why would I take a cut box ? Instead of believing I was telling the truth... she chose violence. Overexerted her power and was dead wrong. I went to customer service told them what happened and they went over and told her that they gave me the box.. No apology... this lady came all the way to my lane from her assigned area because I refused to engage in a verbal exchange yelling across aisle after I already explained I was given the box. To pull out a box cutter in a black womans face to cut a box that I had and then give it to me ruined in front of the entire store was disrespectful and embarrassing. What if I was carrying my licensed weapon and your angry employee approached me aggressively and pulled out a box cutter on me, imagine how horrible this could have turned out? While the manager on duty and the service desk people where apologetic and accommodating, Target you don't need to have any employees who act in this manner working in your store. Surprise: stairs only ie no proper provision for handicapped or even slightly incapacitated. Then after purchasing discover carts lock up mechanism when trying to go down driveway! Again no signs. This Target location on City Avenue recently went through renovations. They're complete and humming along. The staff greet you when you enter and are happy to help. I've shopped at this location several times, including during their renovation, and no problems at all. This location is great for those that live nearby, but specifically St. Joe's students. Parents are able to purchase pnline and set up for their St. Joe's student to pick up items here. While you're at Target, there's other places in the shopping center as well. It's just a 5-10 minute ride from St. Joe's. read more
