I came in to have some glasses adjusted and Jonathan not only got it perfect on the first try (and I was in and out in under 5 minutes) but also was very friendly and professional. It was time for an eye exam and I was in the midst of deciding which Target Optical to try. I visited Target at Knollwood first and after meeting Jonathan at the front desk, I decided there was no reason to look any further. Jonathan is one of a kind. First, and maybe most importantly, he knows his craft and was able to introduce me to optical premises and ideas that had never crossed my mind. For example, when I asked for his opinion regarding frame selection, he readily selected a pair that he thought would be right for me. I had already pretty well decided on another set of frames and was feeling quite confident about my choice until I tried on the frames that Jonathan had selected. He explained in detail the technical reasons for his choice, and as soon as I tried on the set, I knew what he was talking about, I agreed with his thinking, and I happily went with his selection. Jonathan is not only skilled at his job, he is patient, accommodating, and very pleasant to work with. I watched him juggle the needs of other patients -- a patient checking in for an appointment, a customer making a purchase, a person with questions about a product, someone on the phone who needed to discuss something; the list goes on -- and Jonathan addressed each individual as if s/he were the only person in the room. Jonathan sold me on Target Optical, Knollwood, before I ever even saw Dr. Teragawa, but my favorable impression of this location didn't stop with Jonathan. Dr. Teragawa performed a routine eye examination and I was also very impressed with her. She conducts herself in a professional manner and I found her to be extremely thorough. I didn't spend as much time in the examination room with Dr. Teragawa as I did with Jonathan, as I tried on frames, asked a plethora of questions, etc., but I was with Dr. Teragawa long enough to see that she is very accomplished at what she does. I don't know anything about any of the other Target Optical centers in the Minneapolis area, but without hesitation, I would definitely urge you to give Target Optical, Knollwood, a try when it's time for your next eye exam. read more

I bought a pair of glasses and was unhappy with them. I looked at a few other Target stores and found better frames and Target Optical was happy to give me the new frames at no extra cost. Great! They even upgraded me to poly carb frames at no extra charge. Awesome! So a few weeks later the new lenses start to crack. They get a crack right at the frame, on top, and the crack grows enough to impair my vision. I go back to Target Optical and let them know so I can get them fixed, and they won't do anything for me. I am told, by the manager, that plastic frames can do that sometimes. She says she wants me to buy their protection plan and their copay to replace the lenses, and she won'rt do anything else for me. I had her look up the lenses to verify that they were remade as poly carb and she says "oh yeah, that can happen to them too". So basically, they won't help me without charging me more money. If I buy a product from Target and it breaks, when I return it I get 90 days from the return to exchange it again. They don't go by the original purchase date. But I guess Target Optical does. So DO NOT go to Target Optical. Especially their Minnetonka and St. Louis Park locations. If your lenses are defective, they will not replace them even within the 90 day window. This is also not the first time I have had bad lenses from Target Optical. But when I had an issue a few years back, they fixed it. I popped in here after scheduling online for an eye exam and contact fitting. I've used a private clinic for years but was feeling like a change...and Target Optical, you're quite nice. The service here was top notch, from the check in ladies, to the optometrists, and the style helps. Plus! My co pay was WAY less here than at my private clinic, so I was super happy! Alas, I didnt really care for any of the frames they have in stock, but I'm very happy with my contacts and it was easy to take my prescription elsewhere for frames. read more

Just a quick shout out to the Knollwood store. I had what ended up being a weird, rather complicated return of my glasses today (due to my HSA card, not Target's fault at all) and the optician named Christine handled it perfectly. I was getting rattled by it all, but she was cool as a cucumber, and didn't make me feel bad about it. She just kept trying different options until we found a solution, whereas I'm pretty sure most people would have said, "Sorry lady, move on..." This issue along with their previous issues with glasses measurements failures means that I will not visit them again. I scheduled an appointment at Target Optical and Thomas Lee Elton OD online for July 20, 2021 where it asked for insurance which I had both eye insurance and medical insurance. I received a call from them that I was not eligible for a free eye insurance exam because it had not been a calendar year but I would be eligible through medical insurance. I had a good exam and received a prescription. I received a medical insurance explanation of benefits that it was not covered. I called them and they said that they would look into it. Then, I received a bill from their billing company Northland Billing Services. I called Northland and explained situation and I was directed back to Target Optical who said that they would get back to me and I have received another bill with no contact. I have just paid it and I am providing review. read more

Horrible people! If this could be negative number it would be! I was drove clear across town because this is the closer target to where I live. There was an accident on hiway 100, so I got off of the hiway thinking it would have been faster-- I drove for 1hr and 25 mins. I call and mentioned my situation and I said I would be 5 min late. The person was understanding and said ok, I'll see you when you get here. I walked in and literally 10 mins late but the cashier was helping someone else, so I waited. In a rude tone, the person behind the counter "oh you must be Nicole." Yes I am. Oh, ok sit down, sign here for the hippa laws and fill out this health history. I filled it out and I waited at the counter... the 3 cashiers (whispered) "oh she's going to have to reschedule." They talked about me, in front of me like I wasn't even there and when Amy I think she's a "manager" came up to the counter and said oh when do you want to reschedule. One of the 3 cashiers came up to Amy and said "oh, she doesn't know yet!" She then turned to me and said, yeahhhh so we are going to need to reschedule, because you were 15 mins late and the doctor is really far behind from previous appointments. (So it didn't matter if I was late or not, because the dr was far behind.) I said ok, how long? I can wait. No we are going to have to reschedule, so how about tomorrow! I said no. This is BS, just tear up my information, not coming back! read more

This place is fantastic! I got in the day I made my appointment, paid cash for my eye exam-which only lasted like 10 minutes because I knew I would need glasses, and then the lovely Laura assisted me in selecting the right pair of glasses for my first pair. I had fun, the customer service could not be beat and I will definitely be back again very soon when I get fitted for contacts! read more

Where do I begin?! This target optical is at a smaller, less busy Target than some of the neighboring ones, so you feel less rushed, cluttered and you feel like they have the time to help you. After a less than stellar experience here last week getting my glasses fitted, I came back to pick up my prescription sunglasses and I walked in slightly annoyed that I might run into the same person behind the counter and feeling under the weather. But thank god for Merit (if I remember her name correctly/spelled it correctly) she was so friendly, so helpful, didn't rush me and got my glasses that were messed up last week and my sunglasses fitting absolutely perfectly. Better than perfect. I was thrilled. She saved my experience here and I will definitely be back if I ever need anything. Kudos to her! Shows exactly how it's done! read more
