This is a rather expensive optometrist, glasses and eye wear place that is located in the Sleepy mall to the west of Minneapolis called the Ridgedale Center. They have plenty of good products but they're very expensive. Also, another big plus, like the flag of Switzerland -extremely friendly associates. They answered a couple of my questions related to Barbie and her lack of vision. I would bring her back here if we were in this mall. For sure. read more

I'm done being beholden to the monopoly that is Luxxotica Group SpA. I'm done paying a thousand dollars for progressive lens eyeglasses that have to be replaced every year. I'm done with mark-ups for people who have vision insurance, which is clearly a waste of money if not an outright scam. I finally relented and tracked down the few independent alternative suppliers of eyewear in the Twin Cities, and narrowed my consideration down to the three least expensive options: Costco, Huxley and Warby Parker. Costco wouldn't even consider replacing the lenses in my expensive fashion frames as they were "too old" (2 years is too old?). Huxley Ridgedale was closest to home, so my wife dragged me in during errands. If you must have the latest fashion designer frames, then these may not be suitable for you. However, if you're looking for a pair of decent, reasonably priced frames and lenses for ~$300(!), then I strongly encourage you to check them out. I walked out with a $250 charge to replace my lenses, plus a $300 pair of new sunglasses with the same prescription. In total, counting the cost of a prior eye check-up, I saved at least 50% over LensCrafter sale options. In addition, the purchase and fitting were very quick, with everyone masked and maintaining at least 6 feet, and few other customers in the store while I was there. I've gotten all of my glasses from Huxley since shortly after they opened and have never been disappointed. I've always found attractive frames there that I'd not seen elsewhere. And they're very reasonably priced. Because they were closing down the shop and knowing I'm a senior who shouldn't be out during this epidemic he offered to bring them to my home. On his way here he called and asked if I needed anything, saying that he was near a shopping center. I told him I would soon be out of dish washing detergent and he soon showed up with two bottles, refusing my offer to pay for them. From my home he was going to deliver another order. My son's glasses broke when on vacation in Minneapolis. I looked up local optical shops and was blown away by a review of Huxley that explained how the owner made a home delivery and picked up grocery essentials for a client who couldn't safely leave home during Covid. We headed to Ridgedale as soon as they opened the next day and Suzanne graciously made a temp fix of the broken glasses and recommended we head to the Eagan location to take advantage of a BOGO offer at their outlet. We did so the next day where a lovely employee (didn't catch her name) spent an hour with us making sure to find the perfect fitting frames for my active tween. Unbelievably, the glasses were ready 3 days later and send to Ridgedale which is closer to where we are staying. TJ's communication at all points was excellent and the glasses are perfect. Today is an amazing day because I can finally see! A friend referred me to Huxley Optical because she nicely stated that my readers I was wearing looked like they were falling apart. And I've been looking for a place to buy readers but just have never found the right place. Until today. I bought 3 pair from their Ridgedale Center location today, and couldn't be more pleased. They have a great selection of frames. And their customer service is outstanding. The guys that work there are just straightforward and super polite. I decided to try progressive lenses for the first time with my new prescription and I just couldn't get used to it. So they changed the lens back to a single vision and gave me a refund for the difference without me even having to ask for it. read more
