After her horrific experience with the Connecticut eye dr that afternoon, she called me in tears. I called Plymouth Vision myself and explained the challenge. Dr. Herman got on the phone and not only helped me to help her but offered to call her at school. When she didn't answer (because she was still a bit overwhelmed) he called back AGAIN. When a pair of sports glasses I ordered with prescription lenses did not fit, they refunded me the cost of the frame and lenses. And most recently, when I ordered new prescription lenses and the lab broke my frame, Brad was able to get a partial reimbursement for the cost of having to purchase new frames. I was struggling with the prescription, and that was my main concern. I was trying to figure out why it wasn't working for me - including the possible dropping eye. Turned out it was the prescription, and now I'm just fine, but it still cost me an extra $50 after I already paid $102 (insurance paid $367) so they made out $ on me. Ever since it started getting dark earlier- I feel like I can't see as well when driving. Being a non-glasses wearer I had no idea where to go. I logged onto to Blue Cross and Blue Shield to find the closest eye doctor that I could walk to. It happened to be a children's eye doctor. So I went to the next closest--Eye Deals. I had read the reviews on Yelp first and knew it was a pricey place to get glasses. I arrived a little earlier for my appointment and told the friendly front of house staff that I probably wouldn't be buying anything. They suggested that I try on lots of frames anyway and started suggesting ones to try- no pressure. It was true. I honestly didn't feel any pressure. I went into the back for my eye exam. The doc asked me to read the smallest row I could. I immediately read the bottom row. After more carefully examination--he also told me people can't see perfectly in the dark and that one eye wasn't quite perfect but I definitely didn't need glasses. He wrote me a mild prescription anyways. I asked if there was a pair of glasses I could try on to see what the difference would be from my natural vision. The team searched the office for a good 10 minutes. They didn't have any of my prescription in the office but had one similar lens in the waiting-to-be-picked-up glasses. They put a patch over one of my eyes, and I tried out the similar lens. Being that it was the middle of the day and the prescription was so small--I hardly noticed a thing. Since my goal was nighttime driving and no one would see me in them- the staff actually mentioned that I could find cheaper glasses elsewhere to try out and then come back if I ever decided to wear them around people. I loved how honest and nice everyone was at Eye Deals. The prices started around $260 and went way, way up! I was very happy that I wasn't pressured to buy, AND I wasn't ignored once I said I wouldn't be buying. If I ever need some fashionable frames--this would be the place.
