I've been using Moss Optical for twenty years or more. When I went in after the first several years to get a new pair of glasses with a new prescription, I told owner Kevin Moss that I wasn't sure if I should be using bifocals or regular glasses. He said to try the bifocals and, if I didn't like them, I could return them for a free replacement of the lens. I was surprised, as my lens cost more than $200. So, I went ahead and tried the bifocals. I wasn't happy with them. I went back for the free replacement. I told Kevin at that time, "Are you sure you want to replace them for free?" He replied, "As long as you keep returning to us, yes." So I had the replacement done. And I've kept going back to the business ever since then, quite pleased with their work, their attention to detail, and their classy businesslike approach to every customer. They've done replacements and extras for me several times, as I have a tendency to lose my hard-to-see, wireless-frame glasses when I'm travelling. I had a wonderful experience with Moss Optical a couple months back while ordering a pair of near-sighted glasses with anti-reflective coating. Before, I had headaches for weeks from working constantly in front of a computer during my consulting job. While reading materials up close was not a concern for me, the reflection from the computer screen was really affecting my overall health and disposition to do my work. Kevin was very kind and patient with me while he answered the many questions I brought in on the type of lens to be used, prescription, prices etc. I don't think I'm the easiest of customers because I had done a lot of research and wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal. Finally, his helpful disposition put me at ease and I bought the full package, near sighted Crizal Lenses, with Blue Ray coating and a stylish frame. While these took a couple weeks to come in (it was a special order), Kevin was in constant communication with me about the status of my glasses and offered me a reasonable price. He also followed up to see how I was feeling within a few days of trying the new glasses. My headaches are gone, I use my glasses for driving, especially at night and for the computer screen. They have a very slight yellow tint, but that doesn't bother me. I'm so grateful we crossed paths. My highest recommendation goes out to Moss Optical and the very professional and thoughtful staff who work there. read more

I had a very bad experience here. The optometrist gave me an incorrect prescription and I have never been able to use the over priced glasses I got. I brought my 3 year old pair in and they verified that those were stronger and better. They would not do anything for me. At the least they should have offered to replace the lenses free of charge. A coworker recently referred me to Moss Optical and Dr. Diamond, and I am so pleased she did! After I explained to Dr. Diamond that all my past prescriptions were only just "ok" and my corrected vision wasn't as clear as I'd like - he spent extra time with me checking and rechecking, setting me up with new prescriptions for glasses and contacts, and for the first time in 30+ years I feel like I can see well with *both* eyes. I also got new glasses, with Tamara's assistance, and I am thrilled with them - she showed me nearly two dozen frames, the majority that suited my face so well - it was hard to choose, but I now have a very comfortable and super stylish set of glasses. That's not all! My nearsightedness usually means I end up with heavy thickish lenses, but between Tamara's recommendation and the technician who worked on my new glasses - they are light and so much thinner than any pair of glasses I've ever had. Finally, I was also very happy with the higher tech options they have for eye exams - which meant not having to get my eyes dilated. It cost a little more, but so worth it for me to be able to actually see and go back to work afterwards. read more

I broke my glasses a few months ago and was in desperate need of a new pair. I had been to Visionworks and disliked every single pair of glasses I saw. I wanted something with a more modern look and statement then they had to offer. Luckily, Moss Optical was right around the corner! At first I started trying on frames by myself and was feeling kind of utterly lost when a man that works at Moss stepped in, making suggestions and showing me what frames were best suited for what I wanted and my face shape. I'm sure I was a very difficult and indecisive person to work with, but he was nothing but patient and helpful. I eventually found what I thought was the perfect frames (thanks to the mans suggestions) and was able to walk out with new glasses the same day! FYI Visionworks told me it would take atleast 10 days to make a pair of glasses ready for me!! Once I got home and looked at the man's business card I realized I was helped by Mr. Moss himself! Needless to say, I couldn't believe the wonderful costumer service I received by Mr. Moss! I get so many compliments on my glasses (their NW 77th brand) and I've even recommend Moss Optical to many a stranger who complimented my glasses and told me their complaints about their own glasses or optometrists. Terrible! I got an eye exam and purchased glassed directly from Mr. Moss but because they were poorly manufactured the bridge was always loose. We tried a new pair but had the same problem, so I request a refund which I got without too much push back. HOWEVER, a couple years later when I tried to schedule an eye exam with the same optometrist, I got a call back from Mr. Moss, questioning why I wanted an exam clearly suggesting my business was not wanted because of the glasses I returned years ago. Don't let his mild-manner fool you. He is spiteful. I was not even interested in new frames (I would have just gotten new lenses if needed). I wanted to see the optometrist, because he noted something about my eyes that other optometrist did not mention and I wanted to see if he thought the issue was still there...one of those things you watch over time. I hope his optometrist appreciated him running-off business and potential putting eye health at risk. Sad! If everything works our perfectly for you, things may be Ok. BUT if you have any problems, watch out. Businesses should be judged on how they handle issues. Moss Optical failed in the most spiteful way possible. read more

I've never purchased glasses or had an appointment at Moss Optical because my insurance wasn't accepted by them....that being said over the past 3 years I have stopped into Moss Optical for adjustments and to purchase lens cleaner spray. I've had exceptional service when I needed an adjustment for my frames. Some places won't even take a look at your glasses if you didn't buy them there which is really awful if you know the pain that pinching or loose glasses can cause. The store is well lit and much nicer than a Vision World, plus their selection of frames is more boutique. read more

The whole team was fantastic to work with! Kevin Moss made my transition from glasses to contacts pretty seamless. Dr. Diamond did a great job and my vision is now somewhere between 20/15 and 20/10. Absolutely no snags in the entire process! If you really want to go the extra mile at your next checkup, I would recommend going for the Optos scan as an alternative over the pupil dilation drops (it costs just a little more). Worth traveling 300 miles to go to Moss Optical! I've been going to Moss Optical for over nine years and have yet to find an optical shop that delivers as well as they do. The first time I went to Moss Optical was in 2006 when I lived in Minneapolis. The optician who helped me pick out a frame did so with fantastic precision and professionalism. I simply asked him to find a pair that would work well with my prescription & face and he took it from there. He was particularly good at finding some frames that I would have never chosen on my own. I've had my most recent pair of Moss glasses for over six years and not only are they still in style, I still get compliments on them. Just a couple days ago, I was able to walk in, ask for assistance and work with an optician to help me find another "right pair" for me. She selected a handful of frames and I tried on the ones I liked. In less than 30 minutes, we narrowed it down to a few finalists and asked for additional feedback from another Moss teammate on which looked best. We all agreed on the same pair and that was that. I've tried multiple optical shops and even used online services that allow you to try on glasses virtually with a personal photo. To this day, I haven't found an optical store that comes close to beating Moss Optical in terms of quality, professionalism & long-term trends. Needless to say, I'll be returning. read more
