Easy, painless and quick. Dr. Silverstein did a fantastic job getting exactly what I needed and she put me at ease throughout. The selection of frames was more than adequate and very reasonably priced. I had to switch optometrists due to a retirement but I'm glad I found this place. read more

Yesterday, an employee named Dan kept hanging up the phone on me. One of the times he held up the phone long enough to say "I don't care that this person keep calling I'm going to keep hanging up up" . Very unpleasant read more

Target Optical located at 101 Grand Ave, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902 This has been the worst optical experience I've ever had. I prefer Oakley frames, and since Target carries them, I decided to order my glasses there. I requested premium lenses at a minimal cost but with good vision quality. The optician assured me that Target's lenses were premium without providing any further details. These lenses ended up costing over $300. When I received my glasses, the lenses were of such poor quality that they were worse than the standard lenses I had bought from JC Penney a few years ago. Frustrated, I called the store multiple times, but no one answered. I visited the store during regular business hours, only to find that the optician was absent and a non-optician staff member was covering for them. She couldn't help me and asked me to return later. A few days later, I went back to the store and questioned why they hadn't explained the quality of the lenses. They offered no explanation. I had to pay an additional $80 for better lenses. Target is the only store I know of that changes only the lenses (if needed) and not the entire frame. When I received a text that my glasses were ready, I went to the store, only to find that the optician was absent and a non-optician staff member couldn't help me. Few days later, I went to store again and the lenses were replaced. However, a few days later, one of the lenses fell out of the frame. Once again, I had to visit the store. Despite calling ahead, no one answered the phone. When I arrived, the optician was absent, and the same unhelpful staff member was there. She said the lenses couldn't be tightened and that she would order a new set (frame and lenses). I later called to check on my glasses and was told they were ready. Upon arriving, there was still no optician, and the same staff member handed me the glasses, which still had loose lenses. It was clear that they hadn't ordered new glasses as promised. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. If there often isn't an optician available, Target should consider changing their store hours. read more

Overall, I've had good experiences here. Dr. Bonnie made me very comfortable through the whole eye exam and recommended the contacts that I now use. read more

Horrible , will never go back. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever. They over charge even with insurance and then charge for trial pair of contacts THROUGH MY INSURANCE! Such a disgrace and when you call they either put you on hold or hang up. They told me I had to call the doctors office to speak to the Dr because the sales department is separated, then who the hell charged my insurance. They are a mess and very unprofessional. I should of went to America's best like I usually do, atleast they DONT lie to you. read more

My review isn't so much for Dr. Bonnie as it is for the staff. Specifically "the one guy that works there" that everyone else seems to have an issue with. I went in late January. My glasses came in just slightly wrong. I went back again and had her adjust them. By the time the new glasses came in....it was Mid March. We all know what happens at this part of the story. (Yaaaay Covid!!!). Because of my line of work, and because my mother is a healthcare worker, and both of us were very much "in the trenches", I've been socially distancing as much as possible, and thought it both selfish and unwise to venture out to get my glasses. That same guy called me in April, and I told him the same thing. That same guy calls me on Sunday...Father's Day...when I'm trying to spend time with my husband and family, and asks me when I'm picking the glasses up. I tell him "when things settle. I work as a frontline worker, my family members are healthcare workers at the hospital. I do not feel that it would be right for me to come into the store right now". He offers to mail me the glasses and I tell him no, because of the RX is wrong again, I'm not accepting them. Dude then cops an attitude with me and tells me "well even if they are wrong, there's nothing we can do about it! It's been past 90 days, and you never came to pick them up!" I'm sorry.... I've told you numerous times, "buddy, I'm an essential worker, I could potentially be exposed to Covid. I'm doing YOU a favor" and also "dude. I have family members who work in healthcare who are taking care of Covid positive patients". So rather then simply say "hey. I get it, no pressure!" Buddy here has to take the chance to ramp things up, and tell me AGAIN how I'm stuck with these glasses now, "Uh, Cuz it's been more then 90 days". I asked for a callback from the office manager...which never happened. I'll be contacting corporate this week. read more

Worst ever experience! Dr. Bonnie Silverstein and her staff were so rude , created an hostile environment to talk. My young daughter is scared the way Dr talk to her. It was horrible experience for a youngster, we will never ever go again. read more

Worst experience ever!!! They are a provider according to my insurance with no copay for an exam, but was still charged 45 for the exam because they did an extra procedure that was supposedly not included even though it is at Vision works and Warby Parker, where I ended up going and getting my glasses for no copay while Target wanted to charge me $200.00 for glasses. The staff was extremely rude as well and seemed confused,. Stay away there are much better options out there. read more

I went for an eye exam DR.BONNIE and her two female employees were very helpful and professional . But the two gentlemen that work in the front have been nothing but rude and unprofessional I went to ask for something that was missing from my prescription and he was very rude due to the fact that I told him I was getting my glasses from my insurance and told me basically to figure it out myself . This will be the last time I will be going here along with my family and friends very unprofessional. read more

Dr. Silverstein is a sweetheart! She's a fun conversationalist who absolutely loves her job. I love her enthusiasm. I didn't get my exam here, but I brought my girlfriend here and I already love her! The Target Optical here is very small and intimate. It's tucked behind the Target Pharmacy and eight by all the makeup. I like it here because it isn't busy at all. It could very well be because this Target is fairly new. Appointments were also very easy to schedule. Thanks, Scott! They also have a good selection of designer glasses along the walls. There are some clearance and kids lenses too. For the most part, the glasses are designer. I'm not sure if there are other doctors at Target Optical, but I absolutely and highly recommend Dr. Silverstein! Absolutely phenomenal! Definitely would recommend to everyone. Super helpful, definitely knows exactly what she's doing. I love her. read more

I asked to speak with the doctor directly and was denied. So I explained my excess dry eye issue to the Target optometrist assistant. She was very polite during the first conversation explaining she will not provide any assistance unless I make an appointment. Ok thats fine. So I went back to my current optometrist office to see if they can look into my dry eye issue any further, even tho I already knew they would not. They told me no and to just take Restasis. My gut issue said something was wrong. You don't prescribe something unless you have a legit reason. So I refused as they never looked into the issue and I didn't want to take medication if unnecessary. I asked for a medical exam after speaking to my insurance. Unfortunately that office did not preform medical eye exams. So I was instructed by my general practitioner and current optometrist to seek a medical eye exam to diagnose why my eyes were excessively dry. So I called Target to schedule an appointment. The same doctor's assistant at Target optical came across short and annoyed this time. She remembered speaking with me prior, but I'm not sure why she was so upset with me. I was calling back to schedule an appointment like she instructed me to. Even after I said I had a doctor's referral she proceeded to question why I needed a medical exam. Then she wanted an explanation as to why my current office could not preform it. Which I couldn't possibly answer to the ability she would have wanted. She told me she could perform the exam, but if the doctor found the reason for my dry eye was not medical then they would bill my vision insurance. The exam requested did not need a vision portion. This was confirmed by insurance and another doctor office. Overall her tone was as if I trying to get an eye exam without following proper procedures. Or like I was getting over on them some how. I did not appreciate it and decided to take my business somewhere else. I ended up going to another office same day for a medical eye exam. They discovered the problem and there was no issue using my medical insurance. I don't recommend Target optical for poor customer service. read more

Great place, Dr. Bonnie is very friendly and helpful. Some days they'll get busy, but she's quick and prompt with her appointment's so you won't too long. I purchased glasses here in 2016 and the service was excellent! The gentleman listened to all of my concerns and we worked together on two frames. I went back in Apr 2019 and it was a completely different experience. The woman next to me didn't speak English too well and it seemed like the sales person was really pressuring her into buying better frames. The gentleman that helped me just seemed like he couldn't wait to get off of work. It was as if I was bothering him about wanting to buy glasses. I took my business to Lens Crafters. read more

My husband and I started coming here a couple of years back since we go to the pharmacy inside of target and we always shop there so it's just convenient. However after our last couple of experiences, I absolutely do NOT recommend this place. When my husband went in last year and had his annual eye exam his prescription for his glasses changed just slightly. After wearing them for about a week he complained of headaches and said he was having difficulty driving so he scheduled another appointment and asked for his old prescription, the doctor- Dr. Bonnie was so unbelievably rude to him saying "it's basically the same thing it's just off by half a power" and she rolled her eyes at him and told him he was wasting her time. I normally do not have the time to write such long reviews but given that my husband is probably the most well mannered polite guy I've met to date, I am personally offended by her unprofessional behavior towards him. I went in about a week ago and asked for a copy of both of our prescriptions so we could get our glasses from elsewhere. The guy couldn't even find our prescriptions, and couldn't even find a record of my husband in the system or that he went in earlier this year. He seemed annoyed but took our info down and said he'd call us when he finds it. He called me a few hours later stating he found my prescription but the date has been cut off and if the doctor writes a new one it will be a $5 charge. how is that my fault the date is cut off? Can't he just verify that the rx was written the exact day I went in for an appointment? This place is ridiculously unorganized, their staff is slow, and the doctor lacks bedside manners. Do not waste your time if you can help it. I will NOT be going back. Already scheduled our annual eye exams elsewhere. read more

Dr Bonnie is one incredible optometrist! She's a real person and tears you like a family member! We will NEVER go anywhere else.

One of the worst stores I ever entered in the States, because of the workers and the customer service I got it, not recommended at all, not trusted people. And even the manger is so bad how there is a store without a manger or a manger on call to need a manger i have to wait days to him to call me and sure it never happen read more

I was very pleased with Target Optical. The optician Cathy is very professional and nice. I liked Dr.Bonnie. The price was very reasonable.

Awesome service here, most of the employees are nice, and then there's Dr. Silverstein. You will never meet a nicer Doctor in your life! she is so nice and passionate about her job. she is personal with all customers, making you feel like an appreciated customer. The discounts are great too. The AAA discount took $45 off of my ray ban aviators I bought last year, and the Redcard discount gives an extra 5% off! since Target Optical's parent company is also the parent company of LensCrafters, Sunglasses Hut, Ray-Ban, etc., the employees are highly knowledgeable and you can order glasses they don't have in store. read more

When I received my glasses they were the wrong frame (my friend picked them up). I called and explained my situation, they said that they would have the correct frames in stock. I went back and a very rude woman was giving me a hard time stating that they would never let prepare the lenses out with the incorrect frame...well you did. No apologies for MY inconvenience, just rudeness. I had to wait over a week for them to give me a call back.. I cancelled the final order because I'm not going to give them any business. Customer service is horrible and I'm going to a few avenues to spread the message, and to my company as well. I'm going to buy those glasses elsewhere. Total waste of a busy person's time read more

I went to Target Optical for an exam and to purchase glasses because they were close to home and accepted my insurance at that time; 2.5 years ago. The wait time is always a problem especially when they only have two chairs to sit on. The people who work there always seem to have an attitude with helping people. Forget about making an appointment to buy glasses, or to pick them up...you're waiting forever! What prompted me to write this is I unfortunately had to revisit them today to pop my lens back into my frame. I called an hour in advance to convey I'll be there at 5pm. I got there and waited for the only worker there to finish up with the existing Customer which was about 10 mins. As soon as those folks left, this worker ignores me, gets up and asks the person looking at frames can she help her? I made the appointment an hour prior and I am ignored once again! No More Target Optical! read more

Knowledgeable staff that really took care of me and my family. Especially Dr. Silverstein. She is the best.

Called and asked price for eye exam. I was told the price was $75.00, I show up for my appointment and I am told there is an extra charge of $25.00 for dilating your pupils, I have never of heard of charging an extra $25.00 for putting a few drops in your eyes. In all of my eye exams I have never heard of this. What a rip off. Walked right out!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Pathetic and unprofessional! If I could give a negative star rating that's what Bonnie Silverstein deserves. I had an urgent appointment for my son and husband for 4:30pm and 4:45pm. The target office called on the day of my appointment to see if I can reschedule for 4 days later because the doc had some play tickets and wanted to get there on time and everyone else for the day had cancelled. Since my son had lost his glasses and was struggling in school, I said that I can't afford the delay. She just kept going on and on about how she has to wait for us because everyone else had cancelled. Plus I was worried about getting there on time so she suggested I pick my son up early and so I scheduled an early pick up from school and called her back saying we will be on time as scheduled. But then she again started about going elsewhere instead. She went on and on about her play and how everyone else had cancelled and that she works for herself and she can't 'wait around' for us. I said well those things are not my fault. I am coming with my son as scheduled and on time. But she said why don't you go closer to your home and why didn't you come last night instead. I told her I took the earliest apppointment they gave me at the Target North Brunswick location and that other places I called were giving me appointments only a week later and that means my son will get his new glasses so much later since it takes a couple of weeks to get them made. And he really struggles without his glasses. She said well you should have taken an appointment for last evening that would have been sooner if that's what you are worried about. I said if this is the soonest appointment your office gives then it's really something you should take up with your office and not me. They gave me these appointments and I'm keeping to them. And while she might have a play to go to, I have an even more critical problem and that my son is struggling without his glasses. So then she's cross questioning me about which day exactly he lost his glasses and why did I take an appointment only two days later and the whole conversation was so inappropriate and unprofessional and immature for her to argue this way with a client that finally I told her that if this is the attitude with which she is going to see my son, so grudgingly, then I don't want my son to see her. Who knows what she will try! It's a medical issue at the end of the day and I'm not willing to put my son at risk. So I cancelled the appointment because I don't want my son being examined by such an unprofessional person. I hope to God she doesn't try to do this to anyone else! All this over some play tickets. If the play was so much more important than her patients then she shouldn't have scheduled a 4:30 and 4:45 appointment! And if some patients cancel on her, how can she hold another patient responsible for it?! She's the worst I've seen in the medical profession! I hope the play was worth the anxiety she caused! read more
