It has taken me a while to place a review because I wanted to make sure that my review was based on facts rather than anger/emotion.
I can confidently say now that I would have given this place five stars the day that I had initially got there to get service, but unfortunately, it didn't take long for me to find out that I was being ripped off.
My spouse and I came here several months ago. We had gone to see the optometrist which has a separate office at this Target location and is fantastic, at Desert Cliffs optometry.
When we went into the shopping center to the optical store, there were several styles of glasses available, not as much as other larger places, but enough that there was good variety. There was a man behind the counter that went on about how he helped open the place, as the store had recently just opened, and he went on to quote me on two glasses, one regular and one sunglasses. The price, even with insurance, was going to be almost $500! I could not believe how expensive it was going to be with insurance coverage and the glasses I was getting were plain, non-designer.
My spouse, who is not as nice as I am, was shocked that their glasses would cost close to $250 with insurance coverage, and when they started pressing the guy, where he changed his tune and started offering cheaper options that brought the glasses down to about $100. My spouse was so disgusted with the guy that he chose to get his glasses elsewhere, realizing that this guy seemed very nice and played his part well, but he was literally ripping people off right in front of their faces without them even being aware of it. He was offering the most expensive types of frames without providing options, where cheaper options are actually excellent quality as well and last just as long, known from personal experience.
I am very fortunate to be able to afford more expensive glasses, so I did not want to make a big stink about it, even though I felt kind of stupid for allowing myself to buy glasses knowing this guy behind the counter was literally playing me. what really upset me, is that after the so-called five-star experience of him being so nice and offering such good service, I know left the store feeling like it was a three star experience because I realized, from my spouse, that I was being ripped off, but two weeks later I still had not received any call about glasses. I called three weeks later and they had to call to get even one of the pairs of glasses out of the two in, which is when I started realizing that this place does not have it all together, and when I went in I was so unimpressed with the glasses that I simply asked that both my orders be canceled.
What really made me laugh and cinched a one star review is how much of a dirty salesman this guy with a beard behind the counter is. From the moment he tried to sell me the glasses, I should have seen it and I don't know why I didn't. He went on to tell me that if I wanted the second pair of glasses, when they came in, because he has to call me no matter what and cannot cancel it until it gets in, that if I like the glasses, he would give them to me for half price because otherwise they still have to throw them away and can't just send them back. I never got a call about the glasses and did receive a refund, so overall this has all just been a bad experience for me, because I may very well have considered paying half price for the sunglasses that otherwise would've cost 260 whopping dollars for non designer plain sunglasses with frames that you not even have sun protection.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you do not care about overpaying. read more
