Made an appointment about 1.5 months out. Arrived early on appointment day to find my appointment was never scheduled properly, and they had no record of who I was. This is despite me giving all of my insurance information at the time of scheduling and double checking the appointment information at the end of the call. I'm new to this area and had the correct doctor's name and location saved in my phone. Bottom line: They only book appointments over the phone with no email confirmation, so I guess get the full name of whoever you speak to and maybe call the next day to make sure it's actually booked. I have purchased contact lenses, glasses, and gotten great eye exams from the Holyoke Mall Target optical location for the past few years. I had issues in finding a good eye doctor for basic eye exams when I moved to the area, resulting in going to more than one retailer/optometrist, but Dr. Reiners is awesome. He really takes the time to see if your prescription has slightly changed since your last visit and that both eyes are properly balanced to ensure proper vision. The Target optical team is also great and no matter what I have needed over the years, the pricing on new glasses/contact lenses is pretty good... there is always some kind of promotion going on for eyewear. read more

I went here for an eye exam but didn't get glasses, so I can't speak to that. However, the optician was quick, efficient and no-nonsense which I appreciated. One of the staff members was quite rude to me however about my insurance. I'll go back again. It wasn't particularly exceptional, but it wasn't particularly terrible either. read more

Purchased a pair of glasses for myself and my brother from here today. Pretty good selection to choose from. I personally was torn between two different ones, and I know that the employees are trying to sell you on items but they helped me pick out which ones to go with. Wish I remembered the lady's name who processed our order, she was blonde and her name began with a C. Super nice and engaged everyone in my party including my seven month old daughter who was with us. I don't see why I wouldn't go back when necessary! read more

If you want quality glasses, I'd look somewhere else for them. I recently bought I pair of prescription glasses from this place, and it was a waste of my time. First of all, the frames are a bit expensive, but they do have an okay selection so that wasn't the worst part. I found a pair of frames I liked, and when I sat down with one of the ladies to talk about what lenses I wanted I was offered three kinds. The first one was just a single lens, nothing fancy. The second one was a "harder material that is less likely to scratch", and the third one was a different type of material that was just way over priced for a lens, so naturally, I picked the second type of lens. It took about a week to call me when they came in, but the guy who called me, called me 20min before the store closed, which I thought was super rude seeing how my glasses probably came in that morning and they waited till they were almost closed to tell me to come pick them up. I was more than 20 minutes away so I had to go another day to get them. I had the glasses for TWO days before the lenses scratched. The lenses felt like cheap plastic and the fact I was told they were a harder material that's less likely to scratch, then they scratched almost instantly makes me mad. I could also wiggle the lenses in the frame which makes me think they weren't even fitted right, and they probably gave me the first option for lenses because they felt like $5. I went back to the store and asked them for new lenses, so they ordered them for me and called me two days later to pick them up. When I went to pick them them up, I was waiting around for half an hour to be helped, and I watched as another customer just walked right in and started to talk to a women who had just finished with a customer, who should have helped me first seeing how I was standing around waiting for a while. While I was waiting around, annoyed and feeling like their customer service could have been a lot better, I started to look around at the other frames on the wall, and I actually googled my frames online and found them for $112 cheaper than what target was selling them for. So I said screw it and I ordered the frames off the website and I took them somewhere else to get quality lenses, and boy was that the right thing to do. So while they were helping customers who walked in after me, they gave me the time to find my glasses elsewhere for a better deal, so thanks Target. Moral of the story, if you're looking for glasses, go to a place that actually specializes in glasses. Don't buy glasses from a store that also makes furniture and food and house products. read more

Worst place to go for your eyeglass needs! DO NOT GO HERE!! Very quick to charge you and make you pay for all services up front with promise to fulfill prescriptions in 7-10 days. I had to call them after 2 weeks and was told that frames not purchased in-store take longer to fulfill prescriptions. After 3 weeks they were still not ready. After 4 weeks I was notified they broke my frames. After 2 months they still have not given me all my refund. Also, I went to a different place and was charged half the price for lenses. Go to the Lenscrafters in the same mall or any other optical store. Target Optical at the Holyoke Mall is the worst! read more

I recently had an accident and had to get new eyeglasses due to a big prescription change. I ordered my glasses and were told they would be in within 10 days. Well 11 days later I received a text message indicating my glasses have been delayed. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM i needed them ASAP because I'm heading out of the country on vacation and I am struggling to see. I phoned three times and was told each day they should be in any time now. I called yesterday and was told the Rx was sent to an OVERSEAS VENDOR and they have been delayed. I'm beyond disgusted and I will NEVER EVER go there again. I'm totally out of luck on my big vacation as I'll be wearing glasses that I can't see with. So very disappointed. read more

Target Optical is terrible. I made an appointment online with them and received a confirmation email, when I showed up there "system" had me scheduled a completely different, later, date. So after I drove to Holyoke for my exam only to find out that my confirmation email was not enough to get me seen that day I very politely rescheduled. NOW I receive a message today telling me that the Dr. won't be in "that late" (4:00 pm) this Saturday so they want me to reschedule again MEANWHILE I have already gone to Lens Crafters, had my eye exam, ordered contacts AND they have arrived and are ready for pick up. So long story short skip the trip to Target and go to Lens Crafters for a better experience. That is all. read more

I purchased glasses from here a few years ago due to a good sale in which I found 2 pairs of fun glasses styles that I liked. One was purple and one was a maroonish brown and they looked more expensive than they were. Some of the workers there were exceptionally kind, and the turn around for filling the lenses was supposed to be fast. But, when I went to pick them up, only one pair of glasses was ready. I asked what happened to the other one, and the person said they had to be sent back due to having the wrong prescription in them. I tried on the pair that came in, and they also had the wrong prescription, but the worker didn't believe it because the paperwork accompanying the glasses said the prescription was correct. After a few minutes of negotiation, I got the worker to believe that the prescription had been a mistake. Target got those lenses replaced as well. In the end, I was happy with the replaced lenses in both pairs of glasses and wore them until they disintegrated, whih took longe than 2 years. So overall, my review is neutral - you win some, you lose some. I have occasionally browsed styles since the prescription mishap, and thought that if I found something again, I would have bought from them again, but only after asking what the policy was if lenses are incorrect. read more
