Target is a great Dept. Store to shop, not only for clothing, housewares, toys, stationary, over the counter vitamins & medications, etc., but for groceries as well. They even have a modest selection of furniture. Some of mine have lasted me over 20 yrs & still in Like-new condition! The selection of merchandise is good, the quality is good & the prices are great, especially when there's a sale. You also get special rewards & savings with your Target Red Card. I got very good deals for the Holidays & their Good & Gather Food products are well priced with the quality just as good, if not better, as name brands. This is a big target. Located right in 86th between 3rd and Lex. There is always foot traffic in this location. Located near some subway and Bus lines. This Target is 2 floors and has a cute dog statue when you first walk in. That is their mascot or whatever you would call it. This target is usually well stocked and organized. It is hit or miss with the staff that work here though. Some days you may get a not so helpful/not so nice person and other days they are very helpful and nice. I have had both. They sell a wide variety of things at this location. But don't be surprised to see alot of things locked up. As you would need staff to unlock them for you. This location is pretty big and really below street level except for the entrance. Theres an elevator, escalators and stairs to get down to the main shopping level. Returns are right at the bottom to the left. You can grab a cart here as well. The checkout and self check out are on this level too. I was walking to the register and a Muslim looked at my goatee and gave me a nasty look of approval that I didn't have a Muslim beard. I called my friend to tell him how rude it was while I was in line. Security came up to me and asked what the problem was. I explained while I was at the register and he and 2 other security guards kicked me out. They didn't even ask about the guy who gave me the dirty look. I told the security guards that I live nearby and it's my local store, and that I often do Uber deliveries there. He still kicked me out. One of the guards was standing in a fighting type of stance and looked like he was going to attack me. I am a martial artists and noticed it. It was extremely embarrassing and discriminatory. Came into this target today around 6:30pm and i was very surprised how big it is! It's close to the train and has 2 floors. They have so much to offer, many items and many staff members walking around to help. One let me into the family restroom which was pretty clean. Also, the self check out area has a lot of registers. Wow, this is largest Target store in NYC with 2 floors. OMG the cutest target statue dog as you head in...Very clean and organized inside. Self check out and regular lines. Aisles are clearly marked so easy to find things. Escalator heading down as you go into the main level and lower level is the market for groceries. Shopping carts and baskets available as you walk in. You will need it unless going to pick up something quick. Check out is easy and staff if helpful if you have any issues/questions. Don't forget to use target app on the phone for target circle offers to clip and add ahead of time. Each visit helps accrue to target circle earnings. Target on 86th Street is excellent customer service. I spoke with two employees today and they are so kind and helpful. They always go out of their way to see I am satisfied. This store is so clean. I like the wet nap dispenser. I don't have to touch the railing on the escalator and I can clean my hands after shopping. The baskets are very clean too. I'm not afraid to put my purchases in them. This is important if it's food items. Prices have skyrocketed. I give the item price on my photo captions so you can compare to where you live. It is good information before you decide to more to the Island of Manhattan! I'm raising the stars to Five because I really really enjoy shopping here. I just need to control myself! This newer NYC Target has to be one of my favorites in the city. Most Manhattan Targets are small with not a lot of selection, but they have done a great job with this location. I recently shopped here on a whim for their holiday section and was really surprised with the amount of merchandise they had in stock. All of the pricing was really affordable too. Most of the time I order online with ship to home but whenever an item isn't available to ship, I will pick it up at this location. It's super easy to get to from the subway stations as well. Also just a note, sometimes pricing on certain items can be cheaper online so I find that ordering online to pickup in store versus strictly shopping in store can be a better option as well. Also this location has a great Dollar Spot section. It's never too picked over and has a lot of cute items for $5 or less. read more

No joke, I really liked this new Target location on the UES. Located in the old Barnes & Noble spot they renovated the space to fit in a fairly large store. The shopping experience here is so much better than many of the other Targets in Manhattan I have been too. Most of them are almost pop-ups in cramped spots. This one is spread out over two levels. The men's and women's clothing sections are small and lack any real variety, so don't expect mush. The market on the lower level is pretty large along with housewares and basic needs. The women's makeup and beauty are on top level with a good selection. Along with a CVS on top floor too. Self check out kiosks and manned cashiers on top floor too, along with seasonal items. Comparable prices. Looked neat and organized. Lots of staff on duty. All escalators were working. Not too bad at all. read more

This review is for the 125th in Harlem location and their unprofessional boss, Jason. Yelp doesn't give access to the Target, 125th for complaints. Sorry. Commendation: 1) At the 125th location, the security team at the desk is always cordial and professional. 2) A rude woman was not replaced, saw here there recently. 3) The biggest problem at this location is the morning boss, Jason. (He was given a commendation about a worker, but brushed it off and went back to a conversation he was having with a worker. Most bosses would be honored to hear a positive report about one of their workers. He doesn't seem to care. Not my first rodeo with him; last time I interacted with him, he was also rude and uncaring. So this is not that he had a bad day, he's just a terrible manager. He doesn't have the professional and pleasant disposition needed to both interact with customers and set an example for the staff. Get him out of that location and let him deal with paperwork where the papers have no emotions, feelings, and aren't organic living matter. Alternatively, let him work with machines that lack a central nervous system and endocrine system. He sucks. Generally would not shop at Target, which is anti-DEI, anti-black, etc. But there's one item I buy there; once I find a more professional, less racist store brand, I'll switch. read more

Great location for a mid-size target definitely bigger than the one on 70th and 3rd but much smaller than the one on 116th. This location is always very clean and staff is attentive but I'm giving 4 stars because their cat food section never has stock! Empty shelves every time I come and my poor cat wishing things were different, Ha! Still my go to place when buying lot of things for the house, price point is more affordable than other supermarkets in the area so that makes me keep coming. Do not expect to have a huge clothes/house/kids section in here but definitely a worth visiting supermarket. read more

While I appreciate a Target opening in UWS, they may want to take a moment to get organized. Many of the shelves are empty. It does appear they are receiving inventory, because tje somewhat small aisles are blocked with boxes. Escalators to enter and in store were not working and only one of the two elevators was working. For security reasons the three bathrooms can only be accessed by an associate entering a code. Needs some organization.. read more

The store was clean, very well organized and items were easy to locate. The aisles are not too close together, the lighting is bright enough, and individual departments are well stocked with a good variety to choose from. The customer service staff is there if needed, and friendly and helpful when called upon. This includes floor staff, cashiers, and the customer service desk associates as well. Prices on most items are reasonable. Decor, home items, etc are trendy and current. Selection is great and the quality of even their store brand is great! I also like that you get $$$ off if using your red card, whether it's a debit or credit card. Also, specials throughout the store w/ the app. Target will also price match & give a price adjustment if an item you purchased goes on sale. Just another way Target helps me save $$$. read more

For some reason, this is a large store but doesn't really have everything you need. It appears to have "a lot of categories" to choose from, but a small selection of items in those categories to actually choose from. Hard to describe, but it appears to take up a lot of space but doesn't really include everything you need. I often come here for little things here and there, and then will go online for anything I may not get. Thankfully, it does provide a more affordable option than other stores in the area. read more

Two lower level floors to shop at this brand new Target location, taking over what used to be a Barnes and Noble. The layout is fantastic and kempt. Not really any empty shelves or what looked like a tornado swept through the store, making it super welcoming and inviting. I'd say 75% of the check out is self-checkout. The bag fees is worth getting their reusable tote bags. Not too crowded either, which is always a plus. read more

Since when did they open up a Target in this neighborhood?! I was pleasantly surprised when I got out of 86 St Station and was hit with a TARGET! So I obviously had to stop in. It seemed pretty small from the outside, but there were 2 floors and had pretty much everything that you would find at a bigger Target, including Bullseye Playground, groceries, home, clothing for women/men, toys, stationary, make up, cleaning, exercise, medicine... This location is OK, but there are a few things that are a royal pain in the ass. It seems that no matter when I come here, there are NO shopping carts to be found anywhere in the store... Upstairs or downstairs. I came in today and had to schlepp around the store with the items I needed in my hand and actually couldn't even get everything, as I could only carry but so many items. The store was not that crowded to justify there being no carts around. They need to order more shopping carts and do a better job of ensuring that some are available. Additionally, the self-checkout management situation is sloppy. Today there were several self-checkout machines available, yet people were making a line and just standing there as if they needed to be directed. There were two people going back and forth yelling out which machines were available. Really made no sense. The proper way to do it is to just have someone stand where the line starts and direct people to open kiosks without having to yell throughout the store in peoples' ear, and the second person can go around and assist customers as needed. The current setup of yelling out is just rude and disorganized... The last thing that is annoying is when they run out of something it takes them several weeks to re-stock it. We're talking about the basics... Bottled water, dish detergent, paper towel, etc. I'm sure as big as Target is that they must have a P.O.S. system that informs them of what they sell and how many units remain before needing to re-order. If they don't then they need to invest in a better system. They should re-stock before opening the store, not when people are trying to shop while the employees are blocking up the aisles. That probably explains why there are no few carts available because the employees are using them to re-stock. read more

Talking about double standards. I shopped at Target at the Bronx Terminal Market and kids are not allowed during specific hours without an adult. I visited Target on 86th Street between the same hours and there's no signs stating the same. Kids were running around being disrespectful pushing people and each other, stuffing cans into their backpacks and were ignored by staff. I reported it to security and was told "oh well". However, recently the orders began to send me items that were not even close to what I ordered. I then selected "NO substitutions". However on my most recent order they actually sent me yogurt that had expired in 2022 !!! Also half of the "staple" items were cancelled because they said it was out of stock. read more

I had heard that Target had opened a new location where the old Barnes and Noble used to be on 86th and Lexington Ave and I wanted to check it out. I had arrived just as the store was opening (8:00 AM) and I was surprised to see that there were a good 5-10 people also waiting for the store to open. It had the same layout as the old Barnes and Noble with the escalators and the same two levels. I had already did some research on the items that I was looking for so I knew where to find them (although I didn't know exactly since it was my first time at the store). I also browsed the lower level which was where their groceries, kids, baby, and home goods were located and the main level had beauty, men's, women's, and seasonal items. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and I am glad that there is another Target on the Upper East Side other than the one on 3rd Ave and 70th. read more

I canceled the order & target online rep refused to issue the refund to my PayPal account as per its email; Without consumer expressed consent, target tricks the consumer by usurping decision to issue the refund to original pmt source, PayPal. Target.com keeps the money without authorization and forces consumer to spend the money at its store by issuing the refund on a gift card rather than refunding the credit to the original payment, PayPal credit acct. After spending man hours to get my money, target refused to refund my PayPal account without my consent after gift card was canceled. Buyer beware because as a senior citizen and disabled USMC veteran I'll never ever buy any goods using target.com. Working here was traumatic, it's like high school and Im so glad they fired one of the best workers yet somehow I was getting bullied on my very first day and days after by girls like Meccia, nusrat, samia, short Ashley with glasses, etc that I didn't care to remember names due to me and my 5 cats yet I was the ONLY MARKET FEMALE CLOSER who cared to clean LEGIT WITHOUT BEING TOLD. I have videos of moldy vegetables the workers push out and don't even grasp or care if customers get sick or the workers for that matter that's been old for over a MONTH. This place is just disgusting and i never had to clean so much in my life to the point where everyone is looking at me like it's not common and to just ignore it. Some of the workers are good hard workers that are overlooked by the workers that kiss behinds of leaders which I didn't do to the pervert Arron and their excuse was my attendance. Awful experience. Was there yesterday for a return. Escalators still not working. There was only about four people in front of me on return line. After 15 minutes I told them I was sweating with winter coat and mask. They said nothing they can do. They had only processed three people, I still had one person ahead of me, so after now 20 minutes standing there like an idiot, I gave them the shirt, told them they could keep it, and walked up the non working escalator. In my book, this store is not value, if your time is important to you. What's more, the online survey system doesn't work when you put the user ID number and password in (found on the receipt). While walking through this Target I couldn't help but have flashbacks to the Barnes and Noble which previously occupied this space. "There was a bookshelf there where makeup now stands." Still, I'll get over it. While I'll forever miss B&N, it's nice to have a store that is able to occupy the same space and make the best of it. And they've managed well. I love Target, one of my Go-To Stores for so many things. They have great Fresh Fruit & lots of Brands in the Frozen section, & on the Shelves. I always loved their children's Clothes but now they carry great Women's and Men's Clothes , supporting many independent Vendors. Staff are always amazingly helpful, obviously a result of a very positive Culture there. Oh, and they have fantastic Costume Jewelry that's very reasonably priced and very unique designs. Last but not least, many Targets have in-House Starbucks...for me that's a huge plus!. I have seen some bad reviews & never understand how it could be. It's always clean, organized & well stocked.
