I used to work for a Target about five cities away and ten times trashier locale, and this one still sucks more! I hate every time I have to come here, and fate seems to like to make it my only resort. Always long lines (Theres' a two customer per line rule at every Target, force them to follow it!) Things are frequently stocked in the wrong locations. I'm not talking a cup or two where the bowls should be. I mean whole rows of kitchen deep fryers on a shelf that's marked for "on clearance" toasters. Advice for people who want to make this Target eat its lack of regard: I NEVER move things back to where they belong or turn around the tags for them. I used to out of pity for their incompetent employees, but then I remembered something that I think could help us make these guys actually start doing their jobs... or pay the consequences: BY LAW TARGET "TEAM LEADS" (department managers) HAVE TO GIVE YOU THE PRICE LISTED UNDER THAT PRODUCT . I'm not saying to move stuff around (please don't 'cause they'll catch on), but if you happen to find something in a spot that it shouldn't be, check the price. If it's cheaper on the shelf, than you just earned some $'s off! If you have time to even deal with this mess, call over a manager (or team lead) and point out the price, and tell them you want it for that price because it's stocked wrong, which is their mistake. Target who doesn't shop here. Well this store needs a little cleaning. Especially in the bathrooms, my wife was not happy about that. I remember when this place opened we loved it. They had everything I needed in one place, OK almost everything. Now good luck. Not everything is stocked. The employees are rude, minus the cashiers I've dealt with. It's not a bad place it's just more like a conversation gathering for employees and friends then a place to shop if you want help that is. I've spent half my life at target having a daughter and all so i pretty much know where everything is, but if you want help I hope you have better luck then we do. I have to say this before I end this pharmacy is a mess I stood there one time for a hour waiting for my meds with the flu. I've tried to give them chances after that but I think they are more busy chatting then filling prescription. One more thing when did Target get so pricey, I know their wages for employees aren't great ( had a friend that worked for target for 5yrs she got a pen and pencil set for her 5year and was making $12.50 as a GSTL). I do agree with the last 1 - star reviews.. but in the last few weeks I have seen a huge improvement in customer service. Employees are friendly, offer to look up items in the back, and greet me if they are in close proximity. Yes, it has not always been like this.. but my last few visits have been pretty positive. Manager Larry is extremely rude and unprofessional unsure of his job and did not know how to process a simple return had to repeatedly ask for help which is not a big deal, but on top of that he was rude and kept stressing how he was a "manager." I had a horrible experience at the Pharmacy. They did not call me to pick up my prescription the next following business day and said that they will call me as soon as they have the medicine in stock. I had to call them 2 weeks later to ask if my prescription was available and they said that it was ready since the 14th. When I got there, it took me 15 minutes pick it up and 10 minutes for a consult. I never want to drop off my prescription there again. read more

This place had terrible management. I needed to return a box of diapers that I purchased the same day, no big deal right? So usually I've never had a problem with returns and exchanges with this location until this visit. I came in with the purchased box of diapers and simply explained that I bought the wrong size and needed to swap it out for a difference size. This exchange would be even and there would be no extra cost. But first I was told by an associate that I needed to go get the other size so I could swap them, I offered politely to take it for her since she seemed busy and I was going toward that aisle anyways. I walk all the way to the baby section and back but was told that I needed both the purchased box AND the box I wanted to exchange. What? You just told me it was ok to take the box back to its original place but now want me to walk back and get it? Fine, no big deal. I come back and she gives me this nonsense that according to policy they couldn't support the even exchange because the card I had wasn't the original card I purchased with. Ok so maybe next time tell me that before making me walk back and forth just to be rejected because of a technicality. But wait there's more, so I explain to them (yes to two associates now) that I didn't have the card or the receipt and I only wished to do AN EVEN EXCHANGE. One girl mentioned being able to do it for the other associate instead but they decided to call their manager, Scott. This guy was of absolutely no help whatsoever. Basically what their excuse for not making an EVEN EXCHANGE was that first I didn't have proof of purchase and I guess people have been stealing stuff from the shelves and walking off with them to the exchange counter and returning them for money. They had reinstated new policies. (That's your fault as a store for retuning something and giving money without proof of purchase! Completely different scenario happening here) Then before they were about to exchange it I was told my ID was maxed out. This is new to me because I guess if you exchange over $100 worth of items you can't confirm your ID anymore. Yes this makes sense because we just had a baby and exchanged some things throughout the year and I explained this to them. Nothing, absolutely nothing from them. The two associates called Scott and told him the situation, he was of no help and didn't even come over after this 20 minute ordeal. So I end up leaving and find out my wife had the card and I had the card numbers sent over and hoped that since they can see all the people's cards for the day they could type down my info and confirm my purchase. (Btw it's no wonder they got hacked since they have people's card information for roughly 24 hours after they buy) I went back for the 2nd time and told them the situation with my card and weren't able to pull up the information. The associate I spoke with offered to call over the manager and she called for Scott again. I could hear him over the radio to "tell the guy with the diapers" that they couldn't do anything about it. I get it they have policies, so I mention it to the associate that they had mentioned there being a new policy because people were stealing things. I mentioned that I brought this in myself and even after leaving was not detected by the scanners (after walking in and out three different times now) so I couldn't have taken it if that's what they were implying. (Actually if they thought I was trying to pull a fast one on them they could have tried to take my supposed stolen diapers or something) but like a broken record they repeated the same mantra of "sorry we can't help you." So for the 3rd and final time I go back inside because I needed the right size of diapers and bought another pack. I made my purchase and then left after wasting my time trying to do something quiete simple: getting help as a customer and receiving quick and decent service. Didn't happen though. read more

I usually love Targets, but this one has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth! For starters about 90% of the employees act as if they have better things to talk about than to have to stop and help you! The store manager JOHN is the saddest excuse for a manager that i've ever seen. He is rude and just the the rest acts like he could care less about helping you, absolutely HORRIBLE!! I am very disappointed in this Target because he is a reflection of the company and a poor one at that! Acting like the customer is bothering you is not what I expect from a customer service store! Unless I have a return or an emergency I will not be shopping at this location, I'll much rather stick to Upland or Ontario where they are polite and helpful for the most part. Pharmacy review- This was a great pharmacy with great staff before CVS took over. Now, every time I try to fill an RX, I encounter some kind of problem- the automated text messaging fails to alert me that my RX is ready, the pharmacist has trouble running the RX through my insurance, or they try filling the wrong RX, even when I've spelled out the name of the RX. The staff is no longer helpful and terrible at communicated and listening. I'm sad to say, I will no longer be using them as my pharmacy. read more

Went to Target today saw a table with a sign showing dish washing detergent for $2 or under and other cleaning items (see picture) I checked if it said from $2 to be sure. Then when I went to purchase the detergent the cashier charged $3.59. I went back to the display an associate Larry was nearby and I asked him to verify pricing as the display was deceiving customers. He verified that there were two products under $2 on the same table so he said it was not deceiving. I asked Larry to speak to a manager he disappeared so I went to customer service and asked to speak to a manager then Larry walked by customer service and the cashier said that's the manager. Needless to say it is disappointing that Larry chose to use deceptive marketing practices to dupe his customers into purchasing items by making them believe they are under $2 even after being told that it was unfair marketing he refused to alter the display to only keep $2 products on the table. It is unfortunate just a warning to other customers that is buyer beware especially at Target Montclair. read more

INCORRECT MEDICATION GIVEN FOR 4 MONTHS! Target Pharmacy Montclair filled the incorrect script for my disabled child for 4 months, making him very sick. As the only apology, they offered a refund of my pharmacy copays. The script they were incorrectly filling sells for 200+ monthly, so they made a lot of money off their error, and refunded me 20 bucks. In addition, the hours of the pharmacy are so limited it makes the services virtually inaccessible. Each month I would get DAILY automatic phone calls from target that his automatically refilling scripts were ready, just to come in and find out that the scripts were unavailable until the following day. This location is a terrible store. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone read more

I absolutely hate this target. The employees are some of the most laziest people I've ever met. You ask them a question and they pretty much just stare at you as if you are speaking another language. Ridiculous. The worst case was when I asked some girl named "Jessica" where the drano was. She starred at me for a minute and asked if that was a cleaning product or detergent. How do you not know what drano is? So dumb and then when I said forget it because I got annoyed she just started laughing. I wanted to punch her. A quick update on customer service. Did my one afternoon xmas shopping and low and behold just a few days later one of my presents went on sale by 50%. Well my mom told me that Target would refund the difference. I walked in, told the lady working the counter the deal. Like Amy H's comment on 6-14-13, I too had similar problems with the Target Pharmacy. Jennifer didn't want to tell me the price of the medicine (Tramadol) for my dog until I produced the prescription. I even told her the name of the vet. I only wanted a price to compare with Walmart. She said I might be just getting prices to know how much to sell illicit drugs on the street. I already had an online price. Thankfully, I didn't pursue business there. The new Walmart Supercenter in Ontario has outstanding prices and very, very nice help in their pharmacy. They're even cheaper than my Kaiser $10 prescription benefit. They laughed at how outrageous Jennifer was at Target because as a mother and a Christian for over 30 years I look nothing like a drug peddler. read more

I normally don't have a problem with this Target, but I've found that the other Target I go to (the one in Duarte) is much MUCH better. My main problem with this Target is that they always seem to be out of stock of the things I need. For example, today I stopped by after work to pick up more foundation and a specific make-up brush. They NEVER have my shade of foundation I always use, and the brush I wanted wasn't in stock either. Their other brushes weren't in stock either. Target, can you please re-stock your things more often?? Of all the Targets I frequent, (Rancho, Upland, Ontario, North Fontana) the Montclair location the worst! I never have a problem with the cashiers they are mostly friendly, it's the supervisors/managers that are horrible. Was treated as an inconvenience when they had to come to the register to assist. I'm sure the cashier (he was super nice by the way) would have liked to fix the issue himself but it wasn't scanning properly. I could have gone without the stank face and condescending attitude I received from the supervisor. If you don't like assisting your employees/cashiers you should rethink where you work! read more

On my visit today I was taken aback not once but twice by the same stellar employee! Jerold (or Jerryl? Not sure what he said) went above and beyond his duties to help us and really leave a good impression overall on this store! I was at self checkout tried to use a gift card and it said not available at this store (turned out to be user error) well I wasn't tripping on it and just got my cash out when all of a sudden Jerrold appeared out of nowhere to rescan my gift card correctly and make it work. Ok thanks, good eye! Then when we were about to drive away (and we were parked on the side not straight out front) he appeared again and flagged us down to give us our change we forgot about!
