Target is Target is Target.  They're pretty much reliable and consistent everywhere you go.  This particular location recently got the CVS add-on, which brought a much better selection of Health and Beauty Aids on board.  Their grocery section is surprisingly good, but feels a bit on the small side compared to other retail locations that have adopted grocery offerings. Two of the things that stand out for me at this location: 1)  The newly renovated Starbucks.  I like that the recent renovation that took out the old, staid Target snack bar to make it more of a grab-and-go kind of situation with a few tables, and the Starbucks is the star of that show. #AboutFreakingTime B) The service desk isn't as chaotic as some other Target service desks.  I like the fact that there are individual kiosks instead of a long-ass counter. Shopping at this location is pretty easy and, for the most part, things are the same as in most other locations.   If I'm looking for fabricated half-inch pipe I know where to look because I know where the fabricated half-inch pipe is located in a different store.  (Will someone PLEASE get that movie reference?) The staff is usually attentive and helpful here.  I'm the most impressed when I visit electronics.  I was recently looking for a new sound bar and had a few questions about options on some of the models.  I spoke to two different team members and they were both very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

This is my regular Target and it is always there for me. There's always going to be an item for sale that's going to go off the shelf fast, but typically I find what I need and then some. For those other items I shop online with my Target Red Card and get free shipping. I also appreciate the store keeps their racks and shelves in order. The dressing rooms look tidy and tend to have an employee there helping to keep it looking good. I appreciate all the price scanners and buttons to hit for assistance. But, like every other Target, the bathrooms are gross. I avoid them and discourage my kids from asking. Customer service is staffed. Open lanes are sufficient, plus several self check out stations. Their cafe area is open for the majority of the day as well as Starbucks and several tables are available. This is another area that could be tidied up more. We've used their pharmacy several times and have always had a good experience. For awhile it was the only pharmacy we used. Up & Up brands are legit and I encourage everyone to try them and save money. Liquor is now available and the grocery section has several staples for stocking the fridge and pantry. Their clothing lines have improved greatly. I find myself shopping and purchasing more items than ever before. This is a great spot to have a wedding or baby registry. It's very easy for the guests of honor and those shopping for a gift for them. Target gift cards are a great way to go - several cute designs. They also carry a massive selection of restaurant and retail store gift cards. read more

I'm forced to go to this location since moving out to Middletown. There is one really nice employee that works here and he's usually doing stock. Most of my poor experience is with check out. I know I come in late and I get people are tired but I am typically met with very little to no customer service when going through check out. This store needs to start looking at how the cashiers treat their customers at the St. Matthews location. I'm always met with kindness and some light conversation when I'm checking out there. Of course Middletown turns off the self checkout when it gets late so I have to go through some pissed off employees line. Do better Middletown Target. This is a formal complaint on your cashiers that work late and treat customers like dog s***. read more

Can't stop, won't stop. Target is a wonderful and dangerous and perfect place I generally shouldn't enter when attempting to be penny-pinching. I am physically incapable of simply browsing/window shopping in a brick and mortar Target store. I am 33. I should know and remember this about myself by now. And...this visit was no exception. I had to kill a little time and thought I could just browse in Target for a little while. About a half hour and $40 later, I walked out with a bag of goodies, just enough time to get where I needed to be and when I needed to be there. Target is like a little twilight zone where time ceases to exist. You black out while touching everything, getting lost in the rows of your favorite section, finding new things you never knew you needed and didn't intend to buy but just HAVE TO HAVE...and you wake up back in your car wondering just how much damage you did to your credit card. And yeah...that sounds stereotypical and basic white girl AF. But I'll be damned if that stereotype isn't heavily based on reality! All that to say...at this specific Target, I found a clean store, with what I wanted to find and then some, exactly to my tastes. There were some dope AF deals, and I spent less than I was worried I might when I walked up to the register. AND they half self-scan here. Thank you! I was in grungy workout clothes on my way to a fitness class (I am not a cute workout gal...I am a git 'er dunn workout gal) and really shouldn't have been released out in the wild anyway. Target comes from Minnesota (home of all that is good and pure), that's why it's nice: they're MINNESOTA nice. We are lucky to have so many Minnesota Embassies all around us and even luckier that we have no Sconnie ones. This Target has a lot of parking, friendly employees, and cool stuff on clearance. Errrr, it's a Target-- need I say more? This is my go-to location in the Louisville area. It's located in the same area as the "Six Flags over Walmart" aka THE BIGGEST WALMART OF ALL TIME. Parking is always a breeze. I prefer this location because it's pretty organized and clean. I've been in a few that are always a wreck on the inside. Not here! The floors are shiny, the clothes are neat and orderly, and you can snag some major steals using the Cartwheel offers/RedCard/sales combo. read more

I like the Target stores a lot, but something was gravely wrong with this store last night. When I was here about a week ago, I had a super time. Staff were friendly and happy. They were all over my service dog Panchita, loving on her. It felt like the good old days at a Target store. The store is so clean and so bright and so calm compared with Walmart, which is right next door. Those stores are so badly run and so ugly and so intense that both my dog and I get out of there as fast as we can. I can't help it if I like Target even more because I know Michelle Obama used to shop there before she went to the White House. So shoot me! I think maybe a big part of the problem last night was that they were understaffed. I could hear the poor floor manager paging frantically to get someone to help us at the customer service desk. We had to wait there a long time, but when the person did show up she seemed to be poorly trained. When we had processed a return just 30 minutes earlier, the staff person gave us a choice of putting the return on my credit card or giving me a store gift card. I preferred the gift card, but this time the girl just automatically put it back on my credit card without consulting me. That was not OK with me and I said she had to give me a gift card. She looked at me with an absolutely stony expression and said "I can't do that." I said, "Yes you can - and you're going to." She stared at me like I was the enemy. When she finally got a supervisor to come over, that person knew exactly how to change the transaction the way I wanted it. That was just one of several exchanges in that store last night where I felt like I needed to go into ninja mode - and exercise total concentration and force of will to get anything to work out right in that store. We went back this morning for a coffee from the Starbucks. Michelle, the manager of the Starbucks, was terrific. She knew all the customers by name and gave us great service. Jasmine, her assistant, was very competent and friendly. When they both smiled at me so sweetly, I realized that in our maybe one hour in the store the previous night, not one staff person had ever smiled. There are Target stores closer to Louisville, but we kind of like this store. But I hope I don't ever have to deal with the kind of night there that I had last night. read more

Curbside pick up is a great option. Especially during coronavirus. They have four marked parking spots near the front of the store. You let them know when you're coming, when you have arrived and what your car looks like on the app. My orders (two) were brought out by an Employee with a smile! I was thankful that even with all this nonsense, people still have some cheer. I got home and stashed the bags on the dining room table. Two days later, I actually went through my orders. One item was missing! I think it's a bit crazy that they don't check things off electronically as they put your order together? I'm guessing that's how they missed the item. Well, I went on the target app and I marked the item missing and asked for a refund. They do give you the option of putting in a subsequent order, but I didn't want to go back for just one thing. So I got a refund, no questions asked. It was easy. I'm sad about the missing item though. I still need that. Until next time. read more

I really like this location of Target. I love Target in general; but, this location is pretty good too. I've always had quick friendly service here, and, the store is clean and usually has any items I am looking for. This Target is huge! So, they usually have everything. If I'm in the area this is definitely a place I'll go to shop for home needs and/or groceries. Plus, I usually check out Target for home décor and specific items I've seen online and liked. And, this is a great location to do that. read more

I know I'm prolly a bit sheltered, but, this is a BIG Target. And it seemed kinda posh too. Lots of nice handbags and clothes and stuff out. But, maybe it's just because it's the Xmas Holidaze. Firstly, the bathrooms were clean and functioning, so.. that's a bonus. Second.. their Holiday Toy section... WOW! Only downside to my visit was I couldn't locate a Men's Clothing section. Maybe just didn't go far enough back to find it because I also missed the Electronics section... I used Self Check-out so I don't interact with staff but I did overhear one of their Customer Service people helping a woman figure out how to get the best deal on something... so that's nice. Ohh and they have a Starbucks.. do they all have a Starbucks? Am I just an idiot? read more

Home Decor area was the messiest most disorganized that I've seen at any Target. Lack of merchandising/straightening and trash and bubble wrap and scraps on floor as well as toys and other misplaced merchandise in the shelves in this dept where they didn't belong. To top it off the female employee with blue dyed hair in the groceries was rude. I asked where the ghee was. She said "I do t think we have it but if we did it would be in cooking oil aisle." My wife found it and was trying to let her know for future reference that Target does indeed carry it. As my wife started to say "you (Target) do have ghee" the woman cut her off and said , " I KNOW WHAT GHEE IS!!!!!!" As if we were insulting her. Worst Target we've ever been in as every department is disorganized. Will intentionally avoid this location in the future. read more

Let me preface this by saying I'm a huge target fan and spend way too much money on my frequent trips there. However...this target is by far the worst target I've ever been in. I just moved here and every time I've gone in, the place is a mess. The shelves are missing so much merchandise, and what's left is strewn about in a giant mess. The store is dirty, messy, and severely lacking in merchandise. The dollar/value section is the first thing you see upon entering and it is probably only 10% full and the crap is all mixed up. Upon getting to the checkout after a disappointing experience, there were only 2 lines open with about 8-9 people in each line, yet there were at least 3 other employees laughing near the Starbucks. I just moved from DC and that target was slammed all the time and it never looked even a quarter as bad as this target...even on Black Friday!! This Target is so bad it makes me want to shop at the Walmart down the street...it is seriously an embarrassment to the target brand!! read more

Got a Good Fellows Sport Jacket, sweater v neck and slip in loafers. All great quality so far. This taget location had some nice updates in decor. Book shelves where actual wooded shelves. Some of the other corner displays look of new design. Clearance racks had might fine finds as always. Love this Target. read more

Target. It is my happy place. I can find everything I need in one stop without having to see anything freaky (like the People of Wal-Mart). I swear I hear the angels from heaven in my head every time I walk in. They have almost always had great customer care there too. I have not had a problem. The only thing is our styles in clothing and/or shoes don't always match. Then I don't get that little nirvana feeling. All in all being able to pick up a necklace, shoes, a movie, and some groceries is the ultimate in convenience! read more

As with everyone else, I love, love, love Target. Middletown is the location closest to my house and I shop here more than my husband would like. However, what is going on with this location? In the past 6 months, I have experienced shelves not being restocked, especially in the beauty aisles. Items I purchase regularly are not being restocked. AT.ALL. There are gaping holes of missing products. Additionally, the app and website frequently shows items in stock, but when I go to the store to buy the items, there are none to be found. Finally, I have noticed an increase in complete chaos and mess in the shoes, apparel and accessories in particular, but honestly the entire store looks messier than it used to. The employees are all very friendly and nice, so that is good, but maybe there are not enough employees. I do still love Target in general but I am thinking I need to drive over to Springhurst to shop. My friends say they never experience the issues I have had there. (I will update my review if I see positive change happening.) read more

An elderly women with the first letter in her name being M...who will remain nameless... leads the charge against customers...she's outright rude and it seems to be infectious as other Target team members are simply not polite or kind. I asked her why she is this way with customers and she said "because I can". She shared with me that she has worked in government and that's just how she is.
