Come here if you have a good 45 minutes to shop because this store is PACKED. It is packed with knobs, hinges, doors, shutters, wall hooks, dining sets, outdoor lounge sets, outdoor sculptures, old signs, birdbaths, concrete art, fountains, urns, vases, benches, metal stars, chandeliers, floor lamps, table legs, bannisters, tiles, hanging lights, sconces, arm chairs, tables, mirrors, baseboards and metal gates. And those are just some of the things I remember. Architectural Salvage provides home pieces -- both to attach to a home, like shutters, and to put in a home, like antiques -- to builders, decorators or just anyone who wants to make their home their own. It's size is deceptive when you first come upon this spot on Broadway. You walk into a small room with lots of odds and ends, like door knobs and hinges, but the store's goods are spread over two adjoining buildings and several outside yards. According to its website it has 24,000 square feet. And I've found their prices to be a bit less than other places in town that focus more on antiques. I almost bought this wrought iron sculpture one time for $45, and I did buy a wrought iron dress form for $65. Architectural Salvage is a little overwhelming at first, but you'll soon find yourself wandering from room to room with ease, your eyes floating from one great find to another, looking forward to what you're going to find next. The aesthetic is a bit like Restoration Hardware meets Town and Country. When I one day buy a house of my own and set out to do some major redecorating, this will be one of the first places I go.

Go here if you're interested in cabinet handles/metal... dining sets, fireplace molding... scrap wood, spindles, bits of other random molding... old pool tables... hanging lights and chandeliers.. Also - it's bigger than it looks. You walk in and think it's quite small, but then you go upstairs, and further in, and finally see that there's much more than the first two rooms. So go exploring and see what you can find. *Not really a place for those looking for trinkets or small furniture.

Fun place to get lost in. It's a huge place filled with all things yesteryear as well as newer, unique knobs and outdoor statues and more. They have at least five huge Victorian buildings plus their outside areas. So many of our unique garden wares have come from here it's hard d to count.

Never open when I go and don't answer the phone. Sign has stated that they are open and it's all locked up.

As for prices, some things were very reasonably priced while others seemed over-priced to me. This is a great place for one-of-a-kind season decor! To be honest, it is a three story house and adjacent one story building which doesn't actually qualify as a 'mall'. Things are well displayed and ordered; however, as I moved from room-to-room it felt like a was seeing the same items at every turn. If you have several hours to spend I guess it's worth a visit. It is a poke from Middletown though especially with traffic and interstate construction.

I didn't catch the cat's name when I was there, but Vintage Shop Kitty is super friendly and seemed to be receptive to pets. Besides cats, this place also has some really cool clothes -- all of them old, and all of them carefully curated and thoughtfully chosen. I can tell when a vintage clothing store has done its due diligence when I flip through the racks and I want to buy more than a few things. I was THIS close to buying a Western pearl snap shirt, but really: how many pearl snap shirts does a girl need? Regretfully, I put the shirt back on the rack. Hopefully, some other savvy person snapped it up. The Odd Shop has a lot of clothing, but it has just as much vintage toys, records, ephemera and trinkets for sale. Walking into the store is like walking into your (or probably my) childhood, because there are so many things from the 1980s and 90s for sale. So many Smurfs dolls! Mickey Mouse roller skates! Easy-Bake Ovens! It's a blast from the past here.

At first I was confused on the items being for sale versus the store's personal collection but began to notice price tags on many items. It's a small space to share with shoppers and the worker so no issue to be taken care of if you have questions on an item. Many items are in "as is" condition, or maybe better described as well loved. If you're a collector, this might be a spot for you. I found it a bit crowded and overwhelming so a quick glance through was enough. (I would not recommend bringing small kids to this shop) Easy to find street parking. Also, if you love cats, there are two here to greet you.

(Then go have coffee/dessert at Sweet Surrender down the road) There's a lot packed into this medium-sized vintage boutique -- and Bakelite collectors & fans should head directly to the case in the back upstairs, which showcases a serious collection -- but I spend my time happily gazing into the front jewelry cases (flashy costume pieces are the focus, but I think if you look long enough you could find most anything) and the museum-quality assortment of Lucite handbags (I have now bought two here, and have to stop myself from calling them "My Precious" and stroking them covetously.) There's also mid-century furniture and decorative objects, gloves, hats and a few dresses, but oh the handbags handbags handbags handbags oh sorry, was I saying something? I got distracted by LOOKING AT THE PRECIOUS. (Seriously if you have never seen Lucite handbags before, this is such a fun place to check them out. I entered with a mild interest, and left with an absolute fetish.) This store is aimed at a enthusiast/collector crowd, and prices are not cheap - but I've never seen anything not in lovely condition, and I've loved every purchase I've made here. (And some things, like gloves and smaller items, can actually be a total steal) The owner is both fun and very knowledgeable - definitely a place to strike up a conversation while you browse.
