I'm really excited New Albany is going through this revitalization period. There is a lot this area has to offer and one of these places is the Odd Shop. This little, tucked away shop takes the best finds from thrift shops and puts them at your fingertips. The space inside this building is very small but is packed full of vintage finds. Look everywhere! Up, down, in the nooks and crannies...everywhere is something you can purchase. Their music selections are great! Lots of older vinyls and cassettes ranging fromBing Crosby to Ozzy Osborne. There is a small section of clothing with some retro pieces. This is a great place to find that unique gift especially around the holiday season. Staff was friendly, the place was clean, and it was only a few short blocks from main street and the farmer's market square. Parking down by the river and walking only took me about 5 minutes arrive.

It's a cute shop but very expensive. I left empty handed. I don't think I'll be going back again.

I didn't spend as much time as I would like but there is easily 100+ booths to choose from. They had modern, antiques, vintage, and a furniture section. I ended up getting a necklace which also had a sale on the booth! It was super neat and definitely a great find for those who love the hunt.

Everytime I visit, this spot just keeps getting better and better!…read more I visited for the first time in awhile just a couple of weeks ago. And I had found that it once again expanded even more within the giant warehouse it occupies. It is quite easy to get lost in the maze of booths, but you're guaranteed a lot to look at along the way. Fleur de Flea is as much of an experience as it is a shopping spot. There are several midcentury modern furniture booths, as well as others selling all manner of art, jewelry, books, clothes, records, plants and more. On my most recent visit, I came away with a book of the script of a show I really love and a fun T-shirt. Fleur de Flea also sells cocktails and other drinks if you'd like to sip while you shop, and it's very pet friendly. You're likely to see a pup shopping alongside its owner, and Fleur de Flea's resident doggo can be found sitting on the counter by the cash registers. This is a spot that is becoming uniquely Louisville for me. I love it so!

Vintage it's the new style of art!…read more Vintage style is done well here. The store has mostly male vintage offerings pieces. That special shirt that you must have perhaps here awaiting you to come and discover it. Some vintage stores smell bad. This store is not that. Who knew New Albany would be a great place to C.C.C. (Cop Cool Clothes)? My oldest child is dipping…read morehis toe into acquiring his own style, so when we're out and find a vintage or thrift store, we pop in to see what we can see. Like other kids of his generation, he has a fascination with the 1990s. From what I remember, the fashion in the 90s was a little bananas and I am happy to put it behind me, but you know kids. Anyway, if you're into clothing from decades past, 812 Vintage is a great place to find quality items. This store has a lot of male energy to it -- it's mostly clothing that's related to sports, music, colleges and pop culture. Lots of graphic tees, windbreakers with university logos, some streetwear, rows of denim. You will not find dresses or feminine things. I found a few things that I would have loved to take home if they weren't so big on me. That's the thing with 812 Vintage: it's mostly for adults, or kids who are as big as adults. I didn't see little-kid clothes here. The prices are about what you'd expect for a vintage store like this, although I did see some stuff on sale. I had to tell my kid a couple of times that no, we would not be spending $115 on a t-shirt. But you're paying for quality here, because the clothing has been curated and well-taken-care-of, so you're not pawing through racks of old clothes that are missing buttons, visually stained, olfactorily displeasing or should have been tossed. They got the good stuff here.

We stopped in yesterday after lunch and spent close to 45 minutes looking around. The store itself isn't huge but it's bigger than it looks from the outside and there is a great selection of things for sale. They seem to have everything from clothing to jewelry to accessories to matchbooks and even old Playboy magazines. I was very impressed with most of the prices that I saw because honestly they seemed pretty reasonable compared to what I typically see at vintage/thrift stores these days. They were even having a sale on swimsuits! The lady working was also friendly and offered her assistance but also left us alone to peruse which I always appreciate. Ultimately all we purchased yesterday was a mood ring but the kiddo is saving her money for clothes and wants to come back when she's ready to add to her wardrobe so we will definitely be in again. The Neon Flea is a nice addition to the neighborhood!

For those unfamiliar with their mission, The Mustard Seed is a relatively new (founded in 2016) organization that is primarily dedicated to aiding survivors of childhood abuse. They maintain a wider variety of inventory than most other thrift stores in the area, are exceptionally fair with their pricing and have a delightful sense of atmosphere to boot. In short, it's the kind of organization that deepens your appreciation of Indiana as a whole. The Floyds Knobs store is more spacious than Sellersburg's and has recently undergone some further expansion/renovation. I get the sense that this location has the edge when it comes to clothing, housewares and artwork, while the Sellersburg store is perhaps a bit more robust when it comes to media and toys. At any rate, so long as you follow their posted advice and do not (under any circumstances!!) attempt to donate any fire-breathing dragons, a visit to either Mustard Seed is bound to boost your mood. (The free coffee definitely doesn't hurt.)

This was not an isolated incident--after being treated rudely on a recent prior visit, this latest experience confirms a clear pattern of poor customer service. I was genuinely shocked to be treated with such a total lack of basic respect during a visit a full hour before the store was scheduled to close. The employees were extremely rude, barking orders in a harsh tone regarding the coffee bar, fitting room, and bathroom. When I tried to step outside for just a second, an employee snapped that if I left, I would not be allowed back in--with a full hour remaining before closing. Staff hovered over me constantly, creating an aggressive atmosphere that made it clear paying customers were viewed as an unwanted inconvenience. To treat customers with this level of open hostility is entirely uncalled for and unacceptable. Management needs to address the severe, systemic lack of professionalism at the Floyd's Knobs location. I left stunned by the experience, and I will definitely not be back."
