Let me first iterate that i absolutely abhor writing bad reviews for small businesses. However, I've dealt with discrimination at this establishment. One of the old white woman working at this store singled my mom and I (we are Asian AMERICAN) out when we were trying at the mink coats (priced at $1200 and $900). The store had about 3-5 other customers trying on stuff, but this worker decided to come up to my mom and I unsolicited to tell us in a very derogatory way "you know the coats are not on sale". Why she decided to come up to the only two non-white customers to let us know is pretty obvious. I adore consignment shopping. About 75% of my wardrobe is consignment. Somehow I've missed this gem, and I couldn't be happier that I finally gave them a look. The selection was impressive and in excellent condition. My Mom found a cute dress that is perfect for an upcoming event. The dress was a great price (slightly more than some of the other consignment stores locally) and still had the original tags. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I just came from Sassy Fox with the full intention of just leaving them my clothing and jewelry to take and sell. Thank goodness I shopped while I waited and found the most gorgeous necklace, two jackets, and one jumpsuit...all of which I would tag as designer items with fair prices. At 6 feet, I am not easy to fit or please, but I hit the jackpot today. On top of that, I was able to use a $10 off Sassy Fox birthday coupon along with a $25 discount for shopping there multiple times. I love Sassy Fox!! I've been given a lot of recommendations to come here, especially for Derby dress shopping. Now that I live right by here I have the perfect excuse to go. Maybe before I've been going to the wrong consignment stores because I never expect much; the ones I have been to were not that nice and neither was the clothing. Sassy Fox on the other hand is wonderful and has the cutest clothes!! On the outside it looks like it is tucked inside a little house, but once you go inside you'll realize that it's a lot bigger than it seems. It consists of two floors, and everything is organized so nicely. They pretty much have a whole room for cocktail and prom dresses, as well as a sale room. Not to mention they have tons of sales, including 75% off! As it says in the name, it is definitely upscale, so don't expect Goodwill prices. But with that being said, you can find some awesome name brand clothing for great prices!! The clothes themselves are in wonderful condition, also. OH MAH GAWD! Hello mah pretty... I can only say I couldn't believe the deals. I don't even know where to start with this review. My sis brought me here, she was here Saturday and got a truckload of clothing for a great price. There was a sale going on and most items were marked 25% to 75% off. OK for those not paying much attention I am going to spell this out in caps: SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT. 3/4 off. Yes? So everyone is ever so helpful and as I kept on going "NO WAYYYY" and pulling beautiful clothing out, they were hanging them up nicely for me to try on. I usually hate shopping and go in, scan, go "meh" and leave. Here I was just pulling and pulling great quality items for ridiculously amazing prices to try on. I just couldn't stop. So, after trying on and loving everything I made my choices. Three blouses, a pair of nice black trousers that fit like a dream, two work jackets, an amazing lace skirt and a dress. For my daughter two polo shirts (which at $10 each were the priciest items we bought. ALL UNDER $80!! No effing joke. Really. With the sale, some of my items were $3 or $4! They have great clothing and also accessories, purses, shoes, scarves - just so much. The clothes are nicely pressed, the shop is quite upscale and the service unbeatable. I swear, that between this store and the Zappo outlet here in Louisville, buying a ticket to visit and shop will be so much more cost effective than buying things at home. No joke. read more

This is probably my favorite women's clothing store in Louisville. I absolutely love this place! it's a consignment store, and you'll probably end up paying more than you would at other second-hand stores for used clothing, however, the clothes are almost always in great condition and the selection is AMAZING. The ladies who run the shop just have very good taste, so, unlike with other used clothing stores, I am always overwhelmed by the number of adorable garments I can find in one visit. They carry high-end designer brands like Marc Jacobs, Nina Lepore, Lllly Pullitzer, Diane von Furstenberg, and the non designer brands are from nice retail shops, like J Crew, Banana Republic, Boden, Ann Taylor, etc. At the end of the day, I end up paying a reasonable price for very cute work outfits. Derby dress? CHECK. I'm consistently overwhelmed by the level of cute clothes here. Every word out of my mouth during this visit was "cuuuuuute!" I agree with former reviews that the prices are a tad high for a consignment shop, and I think it's perfectly attainable to sell good-condition second-hand pieces for a bit less. I paid about $44 for the Eliza J dress I spied for Derby, and the thought of "I could buy this kind of dress for about $60 new...should I just go to Dillards?" ran through my mind. That being said, the selection is fantastic, with names like Trina Turk, Vivienne Westwood, and BCBG common to the racks. I am always a fan of buying name brands at a discount. Definitely give the second floor a once-over, since that is where the discounted merch is. I thumbed through it and found a handful of pieces I liked there, but I was already about to spend a little more than anticipated on a dress...so my budget didn't allow for any add-ons. I thought the staff was quite nice, and they are happy to just let you be unless you have a question. That's perfect for my taste! read more

A friend told me about a great deal she got on a name brand pair of jeans last winter and I'm ashamed to say that it took me almost a year to make it over to Sassy Fox. I'm glad I did, but I might not be back until next season when they do another huge sale. They had 75% off all of their summer stuff! I bought a super cute baby doll style dress that actually really works for fall with its taupe and ivory coloring. It was only $15 bucks with the discount, score! The only other purchase I made was kind of a splurge for a consignment shop, but I got a great pair of brown genuine leather boots that lace up all the way in the front for $55 bucks. They exactly matched the image I've had in my mind and have been dreaming of purchasing for the last few years if I happened to stumble across a pair that was narrow enough for my feet and thin enough to fit snug around my calf. And serendipitously, this pair did. $70 for two items is pretty pricey for second-hand goods (one of them being on sale), so I can't treat this shop as a regular stop in my thrift store rotation. Prices for jeans and tops both ranged from around $15 to $50. Going to this store is essentially a similar experience to shopping the sale rack at Banana Republic. Yeah, I'll find great quality but even with the sale price, I still don't feel like I'm getting a good deal. Despite higher prices than stores like Urban Attic, I will be looking forward to another visit sometime in the future. Sassy Fox is stocked to the brim with clothes, shoes, accessories so I have no doubt that there is another fated purchase somewhere between $10 and $70 bucks for me here. I love a good bargain, and Sassy Fox certainly has them...sometimes. A glance at the prices will leave you wondering who is in charge of pricing. It is all over the place. I know my brands and I know what things resale for, and unfortunately Sassy Fox frequently leaves me with raised eyebrows. However, the sales are nice and I can typically find something discounted. I can count on one hand the number of times I've paid their full asking price. The staff is fine. Some are friendly, and some follow me around the store like I am trying to steal from them. Best consignment shop for women in town. Brand names, designer, and a little of the less expensive brands, too. I feel like the shop owner just has the absolute best taste! Clothes always smell clean, are neatly pressed and in excellent condition. I've never encountered an article that was substandard or which had stains or tears, etc. The front features the most highly priced items so if you really need a bargain, keep heading toward the back and the upstairs. There are casual clothes and some cocktail/evening gowns, too. When she's doing clearance I can leave with several designer outfits for under $100 easily! This is definitely the best consignment shop that I have found in Louisville to date. I have yet to try and sell my items through their store and might try them in the Spring. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the store layout is great. The prices are okay but they have great sales and there is a lot to choose from. CRAZY ABOUT THIS PLACE!! I read about Sassy Fox online and decided to take some clothes in for evaluation. The staff was helpful and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in--unlike a few other consigment shops in town. I browsed the shop while they checked my clothes and found a terrific selection of upscale clothing in good condition, plus a decent selection of shoes, boots, coats, & even some jewelry and accessories. I found some items to be a bit pricey, but also found some deals and I've heard the sales are great (although I seem to want what's not on sale at the time!). I purchased a couple of unique items on my first visit and then took my daughter back with me the next day and purchased a more! Want to warn you don't take them anything unless you want a dollar a item . They tell you they marked your stuff down 75% and you end up with nothing and there isn't a thing you can do about it because you sign a consent form . My daughter took all designer winter clothes in , Ralph Lauren leather pants lots of Lauren, Michael Kors etc all like knew must of had 45 items . She went to pick up her money and they gave her 35.00 . That is such a insult to be ripped off like that and you don't have a case , they are using our clothes to supply them with stuff and they don't pay . I'm sorry she did this I know lots of people that would have loved and needed the items . Never again it's better to give it away . read more

Sassy Fox is a great consignment shop located in the St. Matthews area. They always have a wonderful selection of work related outfits, and dressy tops. I have several items in my closet from here. The only downside is that for a consignment shop, it is on the expensive side. There are other consignment places in Louisville with similar merchandise, at cheaper prices. The second floor contains the more affordable items, and normally I skip the first floor all together. The store staff are all friendly and helpful, and will inform you of sales as you walk in. read more
